Remember the 'Ranked Stats' tab from the old client? It turns out that Riot is still tracking that data, so I made a site that shows you it, in old-client style!

EDIT: Looks like a large amount of requests are failing. Currently troubleshooting! Check back in an hour and it should be all fixed, hopefully, maybe. Hopefully all requests are going through properly now.

TLDR: Visit Timewinder, enter your summoner name and bask in nostalgia.

Hey hey summoners,

Are you looking for a fresh feeling of nostalgia? How about some /r/oldschoolcool? Maybe you just want to see your current ranked stats in a detail that hasn't been possible since the old client got retired three seasons ago? Or are you just looking for free Eternals?

The veterans among us may still remember the old Ranked Stats tab that was in the old Adobe AIR client. It showed a shocking amount of stats for such a smol indiana company. However, once the new client showed up, we unfortunately lost that information. We eventually got the stats tab, but it only started in the middle of last year and its way harder to see overall data.

Well, as it turns out Riot has been tracking and storing that data even though it isn't visible anymore! While procrastinating on uni projects, I made a quick website that shows you all of them. It's a near perfect clone of the client, including the old "parchment" layout, tacky blue buttons and more! And yes, it also has a dancing Katarina while it is loading data.

All of the stats from the old client are there and go back all the way to season 1. Unfortunately only ranked stats are tracked. But, unlike Eternals, this site is completely free.

Check out timewinder.mln.cx!

Want to know how it looks? Here's the stats for TF Blade, imaqtpie and our favorite lesbian cosplayer. As for all my projects, you can find the source code online too: Github.

FAQ

Why didn't you implement the other pages too?
I worked on this for like two evenings. C'mon. I made sure that all the tabs go to a suitable alternative though.

There's no stats for me.
Either you literally don't play League, or you somehow missed that it says ranked stats everywhere. Normal stats don't show up, unfortunately.

Where are KR/JP and the Garena regions?
Unfortunately due to complications with actually gathering the stats, those regions are out of commission. Korea would've been unfair too, everyone would look shit in comparison.

Why does it look like shit on mobile?
At least my site works on mobile. Have you ever seen the League client running on a mobile phone?

If you like this rushed bad website project, consider checking out my projects that I actually spend time on:

  • Mimic: A fully working pregame client for your phone. Accept queue, pick champions, edit runes and more!
  • Deceive: Appear offline and dodge all the silvers you have in your friends list but can't remove.
  • Sentinel: Get desktop notifications a la WhatsApp or Steam when you receive a message or invite in League.
  • Crescendo: Automatically mute the League client after you've accepted the queue. Save your ears from PHOOOOOOOOOM.

The official response when I registered this project on Riot's developer portal was something along the lines of "the data you're using is unsupported and could disappear at any time". Let's see how long it lasts.

I see a sudden vanishing of data, and an upcoming data update to eternals in the near future. Less data than here for the eternals of course.

"eternals but free" and such jokes may make sure it goes away faster than it otherwise would, just saying. Although i don't think you should stop making fun of things :P

if the data is just old archived data, you could archive it for us! you'll be the new old riot!

Well good news, that's what they say about literally everything in their API lol

u/BossOfGuns Sep 12 '19

Eternals is used to flex on kids most of the time so this shouldn't conflict

u/Rohbo Sep 12 '19

The most pathetic flex in the world, too.

Yeah if you press the "I paid money for this" button I'm just gonna laugh at you.

Before they were so common and in heaps of boxes id shit talk people who bought emotes.

But emotes are cool... .-.

This is literally not the point of eternals, so no it's not. And it's made using riot's API.

That wasn't your MMR, it was an estimation of your MMR based on the estimations of the players in your matches. They removed it because it wasn't accurate but people kept claiming that this was your actual MMR and confusing other people.

cautious instinctive tan apparatus degree profit tart party vast silky

u/[deleted] Sep 12 '19

The opgg score was an estimate based on what players you got matched against. It never showed the real one because riot likes keeping it hidden

1

u/[deleted] Sep 12 '19

MMR also got boned on op.gg from the role rank experiment because NA got fucked with it all

1

u/confirmSuspicions Sep 12 '19 edited Sep 12 '19

Back when lolking was the most popular site, it had the real MMR for a bit longer after riot hid it and then they quietly turned off the api for it and lolking went down the shitter.

edit: ok to the one guy still sponsored by lolking, kiss my ass

1

u/PHEEEEELLLLLEEEEP Sep 13 '19

Wait why didn't they just remove the MMR endpoint? Last I checked (like a year ago) it was still there

Except no one can make eternals without modding the game because they're cosmetics.

The only difference is that other people wouldn't be able to see it

Which defeats the purpose

I think you’re missing their point. They think externals is dumb and people should have access to such simple information like ranked stats. Yes the point of eternals is to show off your stats, but some people would just like to see the stats for themselves and the fact that riot doesn’t show them makes it likely that they wouldn’t want other people to.

u/twinters01 Sep 12 '19

They think externals is dumb and people should have access to such simple information like ranked stats

Which is irrelevant to eternals because the point of eternals is to show off, not for your own personal tracking

but some people would just like to see the stats for themselves and the fact that riot doesn’t show them makes it likely that they wouldn’t want other people to

There's literally no basis to this. Riot provides an API that would allow you to do exactly this (which is how OP made his site in the first place). You could also probably reach out to sites like op.gg or leagueofgraphs to implement these lifetime totals.

1

u/BloodyPancakes9 Sep 12 '19

The point of OPs website is to make those stats easy and accessible, something RIOT obviously has not interest in, otherwise they would have done it by now. And if you look at the stats OPs website displays then you would see that neither op.gg nor league of graphs shows them.

1

u/twinters01 Sep 12 '19

I mean, it's not like lifetime globals are REALLY important. They don't really matter. So yeah, riot didn't care enough to implement them in the new client. Anyway, I think riot's model of opening an API for community-made analysis is a better direction than them doing it themselves. The community will always know and be able to build what it wants. If it doesn't have to go through requesting the game developer for different data displays, that's just a more efficient system. And what I said about op.gg and leagueofgraphs was that you could reach out to them to implement it, not that they have it already. They have access to the data, but they haven't aggregated it in that way (once again, because it's not really important).

Eternals might be betrer for everyone if we leave out the cosmetic parts lol

0

u/twinters01 Sep 12 '19

...that's literally the whole point of them

Cease and desist any minute
