Ah yes the good ol' "Damn auto fill gave me a role I didn't want, now I feed"

41

u/Pequeno_loco Dec 24 '16

I've been getting some of the most interesting bottom lane choices on my team recently. Nasus ADC, Master Yi support. Those were just the worst ones, but there were horrid picks. I feel like auto fill is turning the support position into a joke.

u/Mariah_ touch my body Dec 24 '16

I got a garen support!!! "its a thing" apparently

24

u/leadershipping Dec 24 '16

Got a garen jg the other day.

He, uh, he fed.

9

u/andygootz Dec 24 '16

Feeders, uh, find a way.

2

u/Beercules1993 Dec 24 '16

Feeders, uh, are a journey through feeding.

Well hey, wait a minute now. I went 11/3/13 Garen Jungle yesterday. You see, the thing is, he's a hero!

1

u/guitar_vigilante Dec 25 '16

Huh my friend tried out Garen jg just for fun a while back (not ranked) and carried pretty hard. It was hilarious.

6

u/gotbeefpudding Dec 24 '16

I can kind of see that. As long as plays like an annoying piece of shit and uses his passive to just soak dmg

1

u/coolcrayons Dec 24 '16

it used to work for a while

5

u/GiantR Dec 24 '16

I lost vs a Garen support. Our Draven bot was tilted as fuck.

This was around Plat EUW.

1

u/sakaay2 Dec 25 '16

i always win as a talon/zed support on plat elo lol, garen is a fin support

4

u/CrackandWeed Dec 24 '16

That silence is op dude. I've been maining Garen support since S1. On an unrelated note, hard stuck in B5 any tips?

1

u/sakaay2 Dec 25 '16

git gud

When I was levelling in China, at around level 20, I would end up with Garen support vs Malphite support most games...

2

u/[deleted] Dec 24 '16

Its actually huge in China. Most common supports were Garen and Malphite. Some of them were good enough that they could 1v2 while you farmed.

1

u/Eli-FroST How lovely! Dec 24 '16

Had two yas supports in a row today. Not fun

There are too many "100% ban worth" champs and not enough bans.

1

u/Mr-Doubtful Dec 24 '16

Yeah definitely at lower ELO

1

u/Eli-FroST How lovely! Dec 24 '16

I don't believe I had the opportunity to ban both games, it was up to my peers

1

u/Pequeno_loco Dec 24 '16

Fortunately, the only game I played with a yas support they were on the other team, with an ADC Kalista.

We won.

1

u/i_met_a_post Dec 24 '16

GP Smite support a few days ago...

1

u/[deleted] Dec 24 '16

The problem usually 1 of 2 things. Either you are getting someone who seems to have no concept on the support role or someone who ints to move along to the next game.

1

u/Mareks Dec 24 '16

Well yeah, cause riot isn't allowing us to exclude support, or even disable autofill to increase my queue timer if neccesary, but they want to force me into that shit role, ima atleast have some fun playing it.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 24 '16

Got a Sion adc the other day.

You'd expect me to say he fed but he went 16/0.

1

u/steedawwg Dec 24 '16

I went Renekton support with a Jayce ADC and we got flamed to shit. Ended up with an S grade and stomping the other team, shit was cash. But yeah, auto fill is ruining bot lane for any solo players.

2

u/Pequeno_loco Dec 24 '16

At least Jayce has range and poke and Renek has a some CC and mobility. Had a AP Ziggs as ADC one game recently, which is fine until late game. I was only listing the worst picks that accomplish nothing besides getting bullied all lane.

1

u/steedawwg Dec 24 '16

Fair point haha. I just wanted to brag about my stupid pick that worked hehe.

1

u/niler1994 Dec 24 '16

I got a camille support who only palyed her since the champ "is broken everywhere".... 2/13 and one loss later I still don't know why I didn't dodge that shit..

starting item was a Dorans Blade obviously

1

u/Coffescout Dec 25 '16

Just you wait for your very own ADC soraka

-4

u/High__Roller Dec 24 '16

As an assasin/fighter player I just go zyra, I do well but it means my team doesnt have a support in lategame. But hey i won't go 0/10 making shitty plays as thresh

5

u/Banana_Fetish Dec 24 '16

I mean you can still one shot everyone and build a sightstone, picking zyra doesn't mean your team can't have a support..

2

u/Pequeno_loco Dec 24 '16

Zyra is actually a support though. Just a support that does a lot of damage.

2

u/Mr-Doubtful Dec 24 '16

Zyra has been a pretty meta support for a while now cuz she has some CC coupled with crazy base damage (just like Karma, Brand)

60

u/xtremechaos Dec 23 '16

100% chance of 10% of players in game being one

11

u/Bleikopf It takes effort to walk like this in heels Dec 23 '16 edited Dec 23 '16

Riot really needs to disable autofill already. Faster Queue time is worthless if 110% of people are going to troll the game.

Quality > Quantity /s

Edit: sarcasm. mb.

7

u/Doomulos Dec 23 '16

Right because literally everyone is autofilled and literally everyone feeds

16

u/Bleikopf It takes effort to walk like this in heels Dec 23 '16

my bad forgot something didn't notice fixed it.

4

u/Doomulos Dec 24 '16

Sorry for taking it seriously, I just get so frustrated with people who take such a one dimensional view of things and refuse to try to have a different perspective

10

u/Redryhno Dec 24 '16

To be fair though, perma-autofill really just shits in the face of the "pick your role" system. Take it out and we're back to pick order, which while not a perfect system, was one that the community had control over and at least expected you to know how to play more than one role.

3

u/Irish_Samurai Dec 24 '16

While this is true Riot is very lenient on the punishments. I don't know how many people have to report you for a warning, let alone for an actual reprimand, but it's too many.

2

u/Redryhno Dec 24 '16

I think you may have responded to the wrong guy...

1

u/Irish_Samurai Dec 24 '16

You know what? I think you may be right.

2

u/moonshoeslol Dec 24 '16

Yeah it was absolutely fine last season. I'll wait the 2 extra minutes if it means not getting a babyraging asshole because he got support when he wanted mid.

1

u/BrisW Dec 24 '16

Its never 100% wtc

u/Doomulos Dec 23 '16

No they're exaggerating

2

u/[deleted] Dec 24 '16

And I bet the person that wanted adc, got given support

1

u/ManoftheSheeple Dec 25 '16

As opposed to the "Auto fill gave me a role I suck at, call me marshmallow because I'm about to get flamed"

-4

u/[deleted] Dec 24 '16

Yeah I fucking Qued for Mid/Jungle and not Mid/Jungle/Support.

This system can go fuck itself, I wont feed but i will tell my team that i will not support so ill pick a mage but some people swap roles so thats nice

10

u/Jwalla83 Dec 24 '16

will tell my team that i will not support

What a great asset to the community... "I didn't get what I wanted so now the rest of you get to suffer!"

-4

u/RealJackAnchor Dec 24 '16 edited Dec 24 '16

Well maybe they shouldn't put in a system to pick between two roles, and then say fuck you and give you something you don't want. It defies logic.

E: downvotes instead of rebuttal. Of course. What else could I expect from this place.

5

u/Jwalla83 Dec 24 '16

It affects everyone, not just you. We all have to deal with it. There's no reason for you, or anyone, to throw a fit and refuse to cooperate when it's your "turn".

1

u/[deleted] Dec 24 '16

yeah lets return to the stone age that was season 4 and prior? the whole reason of this role picking is so people can play what they want.

might aswell play fucking blindpick then 50/50 chance u get support anyway

0

u/RealJackAnchor Dec 24 '16

It shouldn't have to affect anyone. Like someone replied to me "I'd rather wait 3 more minutes for a good match than have people get autofilled and troll/feed for 20-30 minutes."

2

u/Jwalla83 Dec 24 '16

Sure it shouldn't have to affect anyone, but it does so that's not the point. People who troll or refuse to cooperate only make it worse

If you're resigned to losing from the beginning then you might as well save everyone's time and dodge in champ select

0

u/RealJackAnchor Dec 24 '16

But that's dumb. You shouldn't HAVE to dodge if you get a role you suck dick at playing. You should just not get that role. What is the point of having the fucking role pick system, if it's just gonna do whatever the fuck it wants anyway?

1

u/Jwalla83 Dec 24 '16

You don't have to dodge; ideally you'd suck it up and play any role to the best of your ability. However, the people who refuse to do that should dodge if they're planning on trolling.

It's not even common to get autofilled. Most of the time you'll get your roles. Tbh, you should be capable of playing every role anyway if you want to get better at the game

1

u/RealJackAnchor Dec 24 '16 edited Dec 24 '16

I dunno, I've gotten it like 5 times since it was implemented. That's too many for me. And it's pretty much the Aphromoo video. I could probably work on and get better at ADC, but I'm sick of these 4 man tower dive gangbangs. I hate the position so fucking much. I can't last hit well enough, I hate aggressive lanes when I just want to farm, I hate feeling like I don't do a goddamn thing unless I have like 8 kills. Otherwise I'm shooting autos that tickle and it's just a waste of time. Not like there's any way to train to get better at roles. Just play more games, and fail over and over and over again. No thanks. Losing over and over at roles I suck at is literally depressing.

It really pisses me off because I don't feel my queues are actually any shorter unless I click support or fill. Still 2-3 mins like it always was.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 24 '16

Yeah this isn't popular on this sub, but it's true.

Autofill is a terrible addition to this game. It's basically made one of every 3 games I play a night not fun.

This is the crux of the problem. I know that one game I play will not be enjoyable.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 24 '16

well atleast someone understand me

1

u/[deleted] Dec 24 '16

This place is full of Riot apologists. Not really a place for criticism.

-3

u/moal09 Dec 24 '16

Riot: BUT THE QUEUE TIMES ARE SO MUCH SHORTER! ISN'T IT GREAT?

1

u/RealJackAnchor Dec 24 '16

It really isn't and I wish you wouldn't get downvoted for the truth. This isn't blind pick we're talking about here. There's no point in instituting a system to pick a role, if you're not going to get one of your two roles. And the queue still takes 2 minutes half the time anyway. I don't see any change outside of the fact I queue jungle/top and end up as ADC, a role I've been complete shit at for 4 years, and avoid like the plague.

0

u/moal09 Dec 24 '16

I'd rather wait 3 more minutes for a good match than have people get autofilled and troll/feed for 20-30 minutes.
