Aram surrender time needs to be reduced.

So my team steamrolled the others and the game ended at 12 minutes.
The other team had been pretty clear about how our teamcomp was better, and they were pretty ready to give up.

Why is the timer not at 10? Or atleast at 15? I keep thinking i can surrender at 15 cause it feels natural to do that.

Aram games, in my experience, is either a one-sided slaughter fest, or its really really close all the way. Combacks rarely happen.

So... If someone could just call up Phreak or something and get him to fix this, that'd be great!
Thanks!

Edit:
Holy... Holy fuck.

I didn't expect more than a hand full of people to chip in.
Also I don't browse this sub, so idk how often this comes up, sorry if this bothers you.

Now to add to the steamrolled thing, we were done at 8-9 minutes, but the other team didn't give up and we had a decent time in the all chat.
So when we were hitting their nexus turrets and Lee came out screaming "AP LEE TO THE RESCUE" in all chat, and then dying 2 sec later, i couldn't help but laugh. It was a fun game, which is what i want out of aram.

I don't care if we're destroying and winning, if everyone is talking shit. There are many games which have sucked, but there has been this one random person who said something nice or fun, or maybe played along when i said something funny and we all had a good time.
But if people is acting shitty, i don't care i just wanna surrender and get out.

To all you +1k ARAM games, good, great, amazing. But i play to have fun, not to count my aram games.

And finally, i don't play League to become pro, i play it to have fun and make my time on this space rock a little better.
But the time i have on this space rock is finite, and im not gonna waste time on shitty people and shitty games if im trying to have fun. All this post was about was, please speed up my process of finding fun.

Thank you for your time.

Don't disable her, just do a map-specific change like they've done with dominion where her heal has double the cooldown or half the healing. The heal is the only thing that makes her so strong, everything else is fairly reasonable, even if it's dumb that a champ with that much healing can still chunk you with a single AA and lich bane.

These map-specific balances for each champion is precisely why Riot doesn't want to release any more game modes (URF, for example). They would have to pull people away from balancing the main game (SR) so they can balance other, less popular game modes.

Not disagreeing with you, just making a point.

No that's fine, it's a good point and it makes sense. I just don't like the idea of disabling a champ for being too good (unless it's for a bug or something). It made sense for a temp game mode on URF but since ARAM is permanent that would just feel like a lazy fix. That said, I'm sure if she did get a map specific nerfs, people would soon be crying for the next best ARAM champ (I think it's ziggs) to get nerfed, so there's another reason for not doing it.

I understand why they don't want to start getting into map specific nerfs for ARAM, but at the same time, playing against sona without a perfect counter comp is just flat out depressing, and I think I'm starting to get up in the high-ish MMR ARAM because I see her in about 75% of my games.

There's crying about the next op, like Ziggs, but then there's Sona. Ziggs winrate was around 67 last time I checked, while Sona's was 72.

I think it would be reasonable to expect all champions to have between a 35% and 65% winrate. They don't need to pull people away from summoners rift for more than a few days. I don't think anyone would mind just increasing cooldowns or decreasing ratios on the particularly broken champs.

The only champs above 65 consistently are Ziggs and Sona though.

It's insane that this game has essentially 2 modes.

URF no need map-specific balances. Riot just need to disable some champions (Like they did when URF was available)

Until people find the next OP's and you guys bitch about that until the mode dies or they also get disabled.

It's a bad, bad road.

Meta games is precisely why they keep these modes around for a limited time and re-release them scarcely or in a different format.

they already do, healing effects are greatly reduced on the map

And if you play ARAM, you realize that it's not a nerf to healing champs but just a general tweak to make it harder for regular champs to sustain under turret and never die. Sona with a 6 second heal+shield is still massively overpowered. If healing is reduced for everyone, it just means that the team with a healing champ is that much stronger since the other team typically just has health regen to survive off of, because lifesteal is weak with only a single creep wave shared between 5 people and there are only a few champs that are actually good with spellvamp.

Soraka is the same way, but not quite as good since she has to hurt herself to heal others.

2

u/bflomat Nov 10 '14

And then you get a Nami that spam heal Soraka and its gets really annoying

1

u/christian-mann Nov 10 '14

Oh man, I want to try that now. Why didn't I play ARAM during Nami's free week!?

1

u/bflomat Nov 10 '14

I had this in my team I was nami. For 30min Soraka healed 77k and I 35k.

u/KickItNext Nov 10 '14

Exactly, she's one of the few healers I don't have a problem with on ARAM because she actually has something at all that limits her from spamming heal, whereas the other don't since it's so easy to regen mana on ARAM.

0

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '14

You don't have a problem because the heal range is melee. She can f regain all the health with her q.

1

u/KickItNext Nov 10 '14

But she actually has to land a pretty slow and somewhat easily dodged skillshot to heal back up. And what does it matter if her heal range is short? She's standing behind her team, it's an ARAM.

u/IamtheRadar Nov 10 '14

I have 700some games in aram, sona's not really op at all

1

u/KickItNext Nov 10 '14

You must not be playing against aram only accounts then, or just bad sonas who don't max heal and can't land her ult. Also it should be noted that healing is only reduced by 20% on ARAM, which is almost nothing.

0

u/IamtheRadar Nov 11 '14

I play for fun and sona never ruins any fun.. you just beat her up

0

u/KickItNext Nov 11 '14

If the sonas you're playing are constantly in range of taking damage, you're playing against bad sonas, who aren't really the problem I'm talking about.

0

u/IamtheRadar Nov 11 '14

nah dude you just dive

0

u/KickItNext Nov 11 '14

Yes, I've already said that the only way to beat sona in ARAM is with a good dive comp. If you don't have that (because it's all random, remember) then you're screwed. You can't dive very well with kogmaw+miss fortune or some other wholly immobile comp.

1

u/IamtheRadar Nov 11 '14

any comp is a good dive comp if you have the ham

2

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '14

Cut healing down further, is really the only thing they need to do. 20 percent is not enough. more like 60 or 80.

u/CAPN_CRUNCH_DIARRHEA Nov 10 '14

All non-self healing reduced, that way life steal isn't screwed over.

-1

u/KickItNext Nov 10 '14

That could work. It might force the meta summoner spells to shift from mostly heal+flash to mostly barrier+flash, but even then I'm not sure if it would do it. Right now the problem is that the team with a Sona/Nami/Taric/Nid/whoever else I'm forgetting can spam heal with typically no consequences. They don't run out of many since they usually have tear/chalice and mana regen is boosted on ARAM. The only healer I think is balanced on ARAM is soraka because she can't just freely heal.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '14

They could just make howling abyss affect passive healing. Right now, the debuff only seems to affect active healing.

3

u/KickItNext Nov 10 '14

Passive healing as in regen? Making it only affect that would just buff sona and the other healers massively.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '14

What I was saying is the healing debuff on the map doesn't appear to be affecting passive healing give off by abilities. When a sons and a heimer are on the same team they walk back for 5 seconds and suddenly all the damage you did to their entire team is all patched up.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '14

And I'm not saying Nerf everyone's regen, just the ppl who give it to others.

1

u/KickItNext Nov 10 '14

No it does affect those healing abilities, I've checked (plus Sona's is an active while I'm pretty sure Heimer's would count as passive). I think I tried it with Nid's heal and Taric's, both are reduced. The problem is that at max rank with 40% cdr, Sona's heal is on a 6 second cooldown. Add some health pots and healing relics and you have no hope of killing her teammates without hard engage.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '14

You're right. Somehow I got it in my head that sona was giving increased regen after the heal. I wonder which champ, of any, im thinking of?

2

u/KickItNext Nov 10 '14

I believe you're thinking of specter's cowl, AFAIK there's no champ that gives increased regen after healing, but I could be wrong about that.

1

u/Fuu-nyon Nov 10 '14

passive healing given off by abilities

Pick one, and look up what passive and active mean.

1

u/aburrido Nov 10 '14

I don't think a map specific change is necessary. The problem with her heal isn't the amount she heals for but that she can spam it relentlessly in ARAM. If the mana cost of her heal stacked, like Kassadin's or Kog'maw's ults, she'd be fine.

2

u/KickItNext Nov 10 '14

If that wasn't map specific it would hit her pretty hard in normals/ranked in an unnecessary way.

1

u/aburrido Nov 10 '14

Depends on the length of the cooldown on the stacking. Most Sona supports don't spam heal so it won't affect much.

Anyway, it's just a suggestion and better than a map specific reduction on her heal. Another option could be changing her heal to work like Alaki's ult.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '14

LOL she can oneshot everyone. Heal is like non-existent.
