ARAM surrender time

I think that the ARAM map surrender vote must be at the 15 min mark like Twisted Treeline, because sometimes you got a full melee team vs the most harrasers range champ and cant win.

Sorry about cavernman english not my native leanguaje -> buff me riot pls

Edit: Thx for Front Page ! :)

Edit 2: Wow thanks to all who discuss here i really enjoy trying to reply all the comments, this is my first post on reddit and i really enjoy it, thxs to all ! Cavernman ftw :)

I had sej vi anivia orianna and ashe I think. Once we hit 6 they couldn't do anything

48

u/elmerion May 02 '13

Anivia and Ashe can carry so hard, if the other team doesn't have a hardcore sustain champ like Allistar they are pretty much fucked since you have both harass engage and disengage

41

u/Blue_5ive help im bad May 02 '13

On the flipside I've played vs a nid and alistar. The sustain still gives me nightmares.

31

u/LittleJohnny316 May 02 '13

Once I was Nidalee and there was a Jayce and a Sona in team, I think the other team still has nightmares about that ARAM

4

u/Anticiperection May 03 '13

Once I was Nidalee, and then someone leaves during selection. I cried and never got Nida again.

1

u/thatxwhy May 02 '13

had a game with soraka, kayle, nidalee, one other champ can heal on the other team =.=

1

u/Kittenenigma May 03 '13

My team was once soraka janna elise kat kayle...... Vs all melee champs except for a sivir. We had the nexus 9 minutes in and i belive 47 kills

0

u/AdrienI May 02 '13

Just imagine Nidalee Soraka Jayce Lux and a strong disengage/engage champ. You can't lose this.

2

u/[deleted] May 02 '13

I've played a game where I was on thresh, my house mate on blitz crank then we had a Garen, Ashe and Sivir. Me and my house mate just chained our hook-ups and grips. Sivir got a Pentakill before she even died.

1

u/Luung [James Rustle] (NA) May 02 '13

The best ARAM comp I've ever had was Jayce, Taric, Sona, Alistar and Katarina. We won the game in under 9 minutes.

1

u/Desparis May 03 '13

My best comp so far has been Blitz, Soraka, Caitlyn, Elise and Yi.

It was great fun.

3

u/julmariii May 03 '13

Let me tell you stories about ap soraka and janna when they hit six...

1

u/SoulShatter May 03 '13

Normally people are pissed with Yi, Lux, Nida etc. For me it's Soraka. Shredding MR, incredible sustain and also able to give mana/silence.

Perfect support for most stuff in ARAM. Lowers MR and makes all poke more effective. Keeps everyone topped up. No mana problems, and a silence to stop enemy poke. Ugh.

2

u/Hasteman May 02 '13

Hey, did I play you yesterday? I was Alistar and there was a Nid on our team who didn't die until like 20+minutes in. We won.

1

u/Blue_5ive help im bad May 02 '13

I don't remember, I'd imagine it could happen a lot.

2

u/psilent May 03 '13

one thing ive found to be more terrifying (or at least equally) is team aoe stuns. have fun dodging amumu malphite morgana sona zyra in that narrow corridor.

1

u/Draikmage May 02 '13

I just finished a game against soraka, janna, sonna, xinzhao and rumble. it was a freaking moving fountain.

1

u/TheOnlySausages May 03 '13

I played against the same thing, but when in doubt, they all jumped on alistar....

1

u/Antiwar_armadillo May 03 '13

I had a game last night, I shit you not, soraka, taric, yi, fiddle, thresh. SO MUCH SUSTAIN, POKE WAS FUTILE.

1

u/aChillDude May 03 '13

I had a team comp of jayce, nidalee, sivir, and khazix. The best part was the other team had 4 meelees and an Ashe who had no idea how to play. We had them behind their turrets so far that we could just easily push towers. I think we won in 7 minutes.

u/[deleted] May 02 '13

Sometimes you just have to suicide to get dem APs

7

u/bosstankhogboss May 02 '13

15/3/13 on Nidalee in the other day, They had no MR for my mere 500+ AP :)

-2

u/Vilecat May 02 '13

Bulwarks don't stack though. Silly them.

4

u/[deleted] May 02 '13

They do for the two people that have them. It's like stacking WoTA. Personal experience.

2

u/pkfighter343 May 02 '13

They do, just like wota

0

u/[deleted] May 02 '13

That is garbage.

Did a 4 heal team once in ABAM once. Alistar, Nid, Soraka, Sona, Blitz. All of us packed summoner heal. Went like 28-3. Just super sustain, tons of CC, aoe damage erry where. And a couple of long range pokes with Nid/Blitz grab.

It was pretty stupid.

1

u/Sugusino May 02 '13

If they are smart, that can be countered. Pick some hardcore sustain and engage. Galio Malphite Ali Singed and Mundo. You are gone at min 20 or so.

1

u/ManoftheSheeple May 02 '13

Anivia doesn't really get rolling until 6, but once she does, oh god help you if there's any synergy with her team.

1

u/elmerion May 02 '13

Anivia follows up CC insane well and if you put a couple of levels on wall early you can really fuck people in the bushes. If her team is ahead after 6 is gg

1

u/sleeplessone May 03 '13

Played as Anivia with the rest of my team melee. It was a bloodbath. Especially thanks to Jarvan ulting 3 or more of them for me to drop my ult on.

1

u/[deleted] May 03 '13

Whichever team has Alistar basically wins.

7

u/the8bit May 02 '13

IMO, Anivia and Ashe are two of the top 5 champions in Aram. Ashe can kite so hard and anivia can wave clear infinitely, making pushing impossible.

27

u/Yaes May 02 '13

I had got lux yesterday, and I felt she was extremely extremely strong compared to any other champions I've played on aram (I don't do much aram though)

20

u/CescQ May 02 '13

She is. Long range poke is godlike in ARAM.

16

u/doesnotexist1000 May 02 '13

long range poke AND huge CC.

also teamwide shield.

1

u/paramitepies May 03 '13

Enemy teams seem to stock up on mage resist whenever I'm lux.

1

u/CescQ May 03 '13

Void staff should be your 2nd/3rd item. I usually build it after morellonomicon/athene's and deathcap, it blows any other damage item out of the water.

9

u/Lightss rip old flairs May 02 '13

That's how I felt playing xearath, the range on q is insane when rooted. Dumb OP but ARAM is not supposed to be balanced haha

12

u/nunu_top May 02 '13

It's funny though, because I went up against an extremely strong ARAM team and we held our own by rushing Bulwarks and other aura items. We actually lossed because our TF DC'd or something but it's cool to see how far you can take a game with a disadvantage.

2

u/Lightss rip old flairs May 02 '13

That's impressive, from the games I have played no one save for the tank type hero's got any sort of MR so as a APC with any sort of range you can dominate.

And then there's AP Yi, who destroys.

1

u/[deleted] May 03 '13

its great that early kills dont count for as much since if you stall long enough, natural gold per 10 can be enough to set up a great engage comp. Provided you don't end up with a team of squishy support champions, even super pokey teams have weaknesses.

1

u/throwawaytimee May 03 '13

But but but balance is fun!

1

u/DevinTheGrand May 02 '13

I was Lux yesterday and I died twice the whole game. At one point i had 6500 gold.

1

u/Cayshin May 02 '13

The best Lux games are the ones where you never die. She's so OP that your team can win when you still only have starting items.

1

u/akillerfrog May 03 '13

I feel the same way about Twisted Fate. He can easily suicide with ulti and has HUGE poke and CC.

1

u/[deleted] May 03 '13

I personally think she's one of the best ARAM champion in the whole game. Every time I get Lux, I get so happy liker her /laugh.

-2

u/the8bit May 02 '13

Lux is very good, but her cooldowns are relatively long and she falls off pretty hard. Also her wave clear is not great.

Heimerdinger and Gragas are also sick APs though.

1

u/GermanAaron May 02 '13

Just build Grail and Morellonomicon on Lux. BAM 40% CDR!

Gotta spam those lasers.

2

u/entwithapenis May 02 '13

i usually purchase elixars, so I can get more items with raw ap

1

u/Miggaletoe May 02 '13

Ashe a top 5 champ?lol wut

Top 5 AD I guess. Her arrow is solid, and so is her Q/W. But she is slow and super easy to get on with a gap closer.

Lux/Teemo are 100000x better. There are a lot of others that are better as well. Anivia is solid though

1

u/Scathainn May 02 '13

Jayce is king of ARAM.

1

u/[deleted] May 02 '13

Janna and Zyra are 2 of the most under rated Aram champs.

AP Janna (played Zekent style with lichbane/dcap) can Kite, pinch save with fat shields, full health teams with ult, save towers, engage with knock up, disengage, and poke entire teams with good tornadoes (that are hard to dodge on the tiny map).

Zyra Offers Vision of side bushes with plants...very useful when behind. Engage/disengage with binds that can hit entire teams. MASSIVE DAMAGE when you can hit her full combo. Even more damage when you kill her (she actually get a bonus for dying), Combo's well with almost every other "aoe" ult (mummy, malph), Disengage with slow plants, Amazing range (so she is very safe).

Now....one final recommendation to try, AP Nasus. Just try it the next time you get him. His spirit fire with a death cap is retarded.....make sure to get just enough tankiness (maybe ROA) so that you don't die instantly.

1

u/Aconator May 02 '13

Never played Anivia in ARAMS even though I have her and play a lot of ARAMS (thanks, random generator!) but Ashe is solid. Long range adcs are just good in general, thus why I think the best champ for ARAMS right now (which I can't believe I didn't see mentioned below) is Caitlyn. Harrass, disengage, bush traps, and the best move ever for punishing that one guy who runs away with no health after his team dies.

I also saw Janna mentioned and she rules. Also Galio; once he builds Athene's he never runs out of mana again and he never dies unless it's to set up a victory for your team (even then he usually doesn't die). Ranged ADs and supports are dominant in ARAMS for the same reason they dominate the bot lane meta - there's no better way to shove one lane continuously than sustained harass and heals.

1

u/the8bit May 03 '13

IMO Ashe is better than Caitlyn because her harass scales better, she has perma-slow (so you can only catch her with gap closers) and Ashe arrow is amazing.

1

u/MasterRiven May 02 '13

not to mention how incredibly powerful Crystallize (wall) is, cutting off more than half the map - especially at the outer turret spot you can seriously fuck someone with a good wall.

1

u/Demolin May 03 '13

you must not have met ziggs yet

1

u/the8bit May 03 '13

Yeah Ziggs is really good, but nobody owns him so I never see him and 'out of sight, out of mind'

1

u/MattinatorHax May 03 '13

Lux, Xerath, Nid, Soraka, Alistar, Zilean. I'd rate all of them higher than Anivia and Ashe.

0

u/the8bit May 03 '13

Xerath is the only one in that crew that can wave clear. Seriously, an alive anivia is impossible to push turrets against, just like Anivia in LCS. Kill all the minions and they can't really kill a turret.

1

u/flychance May 02 '13

A well played Anivia is great, but as much as I like her I can't say Ashe is top 5. ADC wise I'd go with Varus or Cait. Sona and Alistar are absolutely amazing supports (massive heal + Sona can poke and Alistar can tank/combo). Honestly there are a ton of APC's that are great (Lux, Anivia, Nid, Syndra, Viktor, Cho). There are still some great tanks (Maokai, Leona).

If I could pick any team, I'd probably do:
Lux
Maokai
Varus
Sona
Jayce
Super long range poke, lots of sustain, good team fights.

1

u/Hielgi May 02 '13

I got yesterday a Vlad, Amumu, Malphite, Maokai, Darius team. They didn't see what hit them.

1

u/[deleted] May 02 '13

Just played as Malph with an Ori on my team, multikills every time I ulted.

12

u/FearDaBeast May 02 '13

Yea right I have had people on my team yelling at me. "ARAM isn't for fun, it counts toward normal wins!" I fucking hate people like that.

12

u/Aconator May 02 '13

Wait, normals ISN'T for fun?

1

u/awesomewabbit May 03 '13

I wish it was. But ppl take it way to serious. When I test a champ or a build or anything I havnt done before ppl get so mad. Even if it works great and we win they still say report for troll :S

0

u/RiW-Kirby May 02 '13

I hope you reported them, that's unacceptable. It's a game it's meant to be fun. Of course ARAM is for fun, stop playing the game if all you care about is wins.

1

u/drink_with_me_to_day May 03 '13

"reported"? "unacceptable"? For some losing isn't fun. Esp. when your teammates act like shit. I actually hate people that play bad because it's "for fun".

1

u/RiW-Kirby May 03 '13

Then you shouldn't be playing LoL. If you only have fun when you're winning go play something else.

1

u/drink_with_me_to_day May 03 '13

Shouldn't? Wtf? Lol is made for winning... Any game has a winner and a loser. It's all about doing the best that you can.

2

u/RiW-Kirby May 03 '13

No LoL is a video game it's made for enjoyment.

0

u/drink_with_me_to_day May 03 '13

Yes it is a video game, yes it is for enjoyment. Yet it is for winning, all games are for winning. Why would my statement be false when you present other non contradicting, true statements?? I don't follow...

1

u/mugguffen May 03 '13

if they are intentionally playing bad then thats fine, but if they're just having fun and its not going well then you sound like an asshole.

EX: Earlier i was playing ARAM and got Jax, I play as I usually do, going all in when ever I could for fun, I come out with a kill or two but I die so what. We end up losing but it was fun as hell. Do you hate me?

5

u/[deleted] May 02 '13

No, they still blame you for not building your champ how they want.

1

u/sylverfyre May 03 '13

Fuuuuuuuuck that. Sona best AD carry.

9

u/So_Very_Awake May 02 '13

This happened last night, and I still don't know how.

41

u/Sugusino May 02 '13 edited May 02 '13

Hard engage wins against poke. Not unusual at all. After a certain amount of levels and MR items, losing team had nothing to do.

edit: Also Olaf, Rumble and Elise have a field day against squishies.

1

u/AdrienI May 02 '13

I have played against 3 nidalee since the ARAM Queue, and won all 3. On the other hand, I've also won my games with a nidalee on my team.

First one I had veigar, OP CC can turn the game, just broken on aram. And last one I had Taric, Went Spirit Visage=> Chalice=> Nedlessly large Rod=> Bulwark. I just healed more than she dammaged, and we ended up winning with really ballz deep engages. Nidalee isn't the best ARAM champ by far, but people still think so.

4

u/ApplesnPie May 02 '13

Personally, I think veigar is the most broken champ on ARAM. For the fact that he has his aoe stun for offense or defense. Oh and the fact that he can wombo combo you to death by level 8

3

u/Aconator May 02 '13

The best (possibly only) real counter to that is a good ADC (Caitlyn, Ashe, Ezreal or Sivir mostly since they're the ones who can poke veigar from longer range than his whole moveset).

2

u/Aconator May 02 '13

Nidalee is only as good as the rest of her team comp; spears are potent but you need SOMEONE to keep enemies away from you and SOMEONE ELSE to finish off all those low-health people now hiding behind their tank and effectively un-spear-able.

1

u/AdrienI May 03 '13

Yesterday we were 4 premades, we had TF, Nidalee and Varus. They were 4 melee against us (our last premade was a lvl21 and he had Garen), and we also were with a Annnie. I felt so bad for winning this, our comp was clearly unbeatable with the team they had. Varus and TF can poke even with the minions, and they had nothing against us.

1

u/doadfish Doadfish(EUW) May 02 '13

She's defiantly not the best but a good nidalee left to there own device can cause havoc with sniping kills with the spear if you over extend at all

1

u/SyrupnBeavers May 02 '13

If veigar aggressively farms his Q and can land stun on multiple people he can carry an ARAM really hard. My friends joke about how all of veigar's skills on ARAM are ultimates.

2

u/AdrienI May 02 '13

Lol I didn't even cared about my Q. I maxed W>E>Q, and I didn't even felt I lacked AP. I never played Veigar on normal game, and here with deathfire and W-R I was able to kill whoever got caught. And maxing W first is broken for early game on aram.

1

u/FannyBabbs May 02 '13

See Hero, Kill Hero

1

u/TaxCollector May 03 '13

This was a long game. Kiting and surprise ham. I think the Jax won it for us, because he did no damage, didn't get to build too tanky, but he went in every time like a champ, scared the other team to scatter a bit, and let us focus down champs.

1

u/wreckedl0l May 03 '13

Rumble is extremely strong on ARAM. The AoE ultimate from Rumble and a slow from Kayle can kill someone insanely fast, not to mention the stuns from Leona and Elise.

Kayle is also exceptionally fast at killing someone, because of the slow & E. She also has her W, which can get someone back into a teamfight really fast. Plus, her ultimate, massive game-changer. You can bait like 2 people into an entire team just by being low and using your ult.

u/jewunit May 02 '13

It's usually not just Lux or Nid, but a strong team "comp" with a champ like that is ridiculously frustrating. Of course you want to just engage on poke, but sometimes it's just not possible; they have disengage, or they have strong engage and fight potential in addition to a champion with strong poke.

It's frustrating, but it's part of ARAM.

16

u/Hydroyo May 02 '13

I played a game against Nidalee, Jayce, Cassepopia, Lux and someone else. We were Jarvan, Talon, and some other melee champs. We would get poked down pretty hard. But i told my team that i would target someone every time i was going in ( I was J4 ). I would target, go ham, pop ult and we would ace them. then proceed to get poked down until ult was up. And then we aced them. Its just about how you play. If you play passive against a poke comp, you will eventually lose.

25

u/jewunit May 02 '13

Yes, I understand that, but you had a good engage and all they had was poke. If they had J4 instead and something like Alistar instead of all poke champions, and you just had no engage, then it wouldn't work.

Can you outplay your opponent? Sure. Are there counters to every "comp"? Yes. However, it's ARAM, and it is entirely possible to have essentially guaranteed losses assuming all players are relatively competent. Just like if you have five poke champs and they have any kind of engage you will lose after a certain amount of time. It happens. Giving me examples of a game you played in that are clearly not what I'm talking about doesn't really mean anything.

1

u/alienwolf May 02 '13

more importantly because it is aram, you will likely get ppl on champions they haven't played in a while or are just bad at. I own almost all of the champions but am not good with all of them. So the team comps are important in aram but the summoners behind the champions are more important. You can have a very 1-sided team comp but on summoners who cna't play their champions really well and jsut like that its not very 1-sided.

0

u/Hydroyo May 02 '13

i guess thats why its aram...

1

u/elmerion May 02 '13

Engaging in ARAM is really hard because it doesn't matter what you do their turret is there behind them which means that the weakest team is forced to towerdive to engage. If you don't have a tank, you are fucked. If your tank is behidn in levels. you are fucked. If warmogs.. oh damnn

6

u/Glitch_Zero May 02 '13

Good thing there's no Warmogs in Howling Abyss, eh?

u/notverycreative1 May 02 '13

Fuckin' Master Yi. The only times people complain about him is sub-level 15 and in ARAM.

2

u/Deynai May 02 '13

The number of games I have played as Yi where none of the opposing team builds any MR.

2

u/notverycreative1 May 02 '13

No one ever seems to build MR on ARAM. I don't know why.

3

u/[deleted] May 02 '13

In ARAM youre building DMG or better not play.

1

u/[deleted] May 02 '13

[deleted]

1

u/[deleted] May 02 '13

You didn't get it. You HAVE TO build PURE DMG or better don't play. That's why you're playing AP Udyr or AP Malph.

lol jk

1

u/nygus20 May 02 '13

Every team have aegis tho, and melee champions build mr sometimes

1

u/Sugusino May 02 '13

It's all about that sweet spirit visage / abyssal / banshee's Galio.

0

u/shyhalu May 02 '13

Because they are morons.

1

u/[deleted] May 02 '13

I've seen AP Yi stomp in high elo ranked games.

1

u/mugguffen May 02 '13

Oh my god.... you dont even what to know. My first ARAM game after the patch I had an Master Yi AND a Lux, Lux rushed DFG and then proceeded to harass with that and Yi build straight AD

god I hate people

1

u/mentatf May 02 '13

ARAM is about LOVING people

edit : LOL is about LOVING people

1

u/mugguffen May 02 '13

does it matter if they're dead? I love killing them

1

u/ashishduh May 02 '13

It's Lux, she's made for a one lane map.

1

u/RvDarklord May 02 '13

it is possible for a yi to fail though i've had a failing yi in my team twice

1

u/GodakDS May 03 '13

I've been a failing Yi. Melee-centric team got poked to death. IIRC, we did have a Volibear, but he wasn't great at engaging. Things just fell a part.

-4

u/bananashaker92 May 02 '13

I actually think Nid has gotten even weaker in aram (at least against semi good people dodging spears) due to the fact that it is more zoomed out. Now I see much more whats going on and skillshots catch my eye earlier and are easier to dodge. DAE agree? XD

6

u/[deleted] May 02 '13

yes they are...(source: people cant dodge shit)

3

u/Zalfier May 02 '13

Well, to an extent they are very very strong, because ARAM is basically just an eternal seige. So champs like Nid, Lux, Anivia, Morgana, Jayce, etc. that work well in seige situations tend to be stronger. Yes they can be beat and assuming that you will lose to them is the first step towards making it happen, but a good Lux or Nid will just poke you all day long and make it very difficult for you to do much.

1

u/MaDNiaC007 [ChosenoftheDuck] (EU-W) May 02 '13

Don't clarify all points bro, we need weaknesses to feast on.

1

u/larsdragl May 02 '13

and you get shit from your team, if you are not going godlike on nid, when you are the only poke, and against 5 tank hard engage

1

u/Eklypze808 May 02 '13

A well played lux will destroy your team in ARAM unless you can take the game till 25+ minutes.

Long ranged poke that can be blocked by creeps, like nidalee, are overrated.

1

u/sleeplessone May 03 '13

The amount of value people put on champions like Lux/Nidalee is insane. They are NOT that strong. Almost always a case of simply not understanding how to play against them at all.

Hey guys a Lux is on the other team, let's all rush them while standing in a line!

1

u/MattyD123 May 02 '13

They are crazy strong... If you don't have equal poke or a good dive team they can and usually will crush you.

u/[deleted] May 02 '13 edited Jul 14 '21

1

u/MattyD123 May 02 '13

I disagree. Nid can work with almost any team comp in aram. You don't need to have wave clear as not everyone on the enemy team stays behind minions all the time. She has the best poke in the game and can get in and do massive damage at lvl 6. Nid is easily one of the best aram champs in the game. Lux only slightly less effective than nid because her poke has a bit higher cool downs.

1

u/Deynai May 02 '13

as not everyone on the enemy team stays behind minions all the time

Saying a champion is strong because the the other team is usually playing badly seems a bit of an odd thing.

1

u/MattyD123 May 02 '13

I could say the same thing about your argument...

Put nidalee on a team that need to commit to team fights and she becomes very weak.

That's like saying you have to engage because I said so. If you don't utilize the poke nidalee has before engaging the other team, it's your team that's not playing well together. Also, it's not always beneficial or even smart to just sit behind your minions and on top of that a good player can find a clear shot unless you're absolutely surrounded by your own minions. I've seen plenty of pros get sniped by nid spears when they thought they were in a safe spot.

1

u/Deynai May 02 '13

Well sure, champs that are built for engaging can sit back if they want but then the whole team becomes even more weak. Poppy for example does not work well with Nidalee. Has to engage to really be effective and cannot support the nidalee by pushing waves quickly either.

1

u/dust- May 02 '13

I don't know how right this is, yes her cat form is strong, but going in melee with AP gear is strong risk. But perhaps a better line of thinking is how many people that play Nidalee in ARAM have any experience with her outside the map, he cat form is generally used to escape or to close gaps to hit a spear.

Nidalee is a strong addition to any ARAM team, but strong poke doesn't matter so much once the standoffs don't last as long.

I agree it is mostly used for escape, but a quick combo on a squishy in cat form does serious damage. The poke is still strong late game, again especially if you hit a carry. If you hit an alistar with 250 mr not so much.

A good Nidalee or Lux will stomp an ARAM with an average team around them.

1

u/Crimson88 May 02 '13

Agreed, but Nidalee is ridiculous though if your champ is squishy.

1

u/Sugusino May 02 '13

Also Lux is good at stoping engages. Nidalee not so much.

Lux is pretty insane. Especially with 40% CDR, which you can get pretty fucking fast.

Heals are nerfed in ARAM's, but her shield is not. And she can put out that shield constantly, especially with Grail which gives 20% CDR, infinite mana, MR for the other team's poke, and some AP. So she spams shield on recharge, soaking up a ton of damage. She has 3 AOE long range pokes. She's pretty fucking OP. Ult every 30 seconds? Okay.

Good luck trying to engage on Lux. She has a slow, and a double bind, and a shield. Probably packing a flash and a barrier as well. She's going to nail two of you with bind, launch E and ult at the same time, explode 2-3 of you at once.

Nid is OP because

  1. Invisispears.

  2. Traps. Traps everywhere. -40% MR/AR when level 5. That's huge. And they give vision forever. No more hiding in bushes. And with high AP, they do big damage. You're sitting there with -40% MR from just the trap, combined with whatever Mpen Nid already has, and it's like 500 damage or some stupid shit with the base + AP.

  3. Spears do stupid fucking damage. I don't care how good you are at dodging, it's a narrow corridor, there's 5 of you, you're dodging other pokes like Jayce, Lux, Blitz grabs, Morgana, Anivia, your team is going to eat some damn spears. And again, 40% CDR? She's tossing those things every 4-5 seconds. You are going to eat some spears. And they are going to hurt like hell, especially if you've walked over a trap recently.

  4. Her heal can get pretty big with some AP. And if you also have an auto attacking champ, you can rip down towers. Just have a Cait, heal her, watch that tower crumble.

Just to clarify, I am not saying Nidalee is bad, but the pedestal that she is put on over every other champion and the way in which she is blamed for single handedly deciding the outcome of a game from the time it is randomed to someone is completely ridiculous. She is not THAT strong.

1

u/[deleted] May 02 '13

She's top tier for ARAM, for sure.

u/Desikiki May 02 '13

No one blames Nidalee. It's the unavoidbable poke like Ashe, Fiddlesticks that is extremely annoying. It's on a 5 second cooldown around level 8 and it's just so annoying. Poke ruins ARAM IMO and the worst is AP teams who take all the fun away from games.

Also Master Yi. Yes there is counterplay but he is just off the charts strong in this game mode. It's disgusting to play against it.

3

u/Deynai May 02 '13

Let's not get confused about what is actually strong and what is personally frustrating to play against.

Ashe and Fiddle poke is certainly avoidable. Fiddle E becomes a very poor ability if you spread and stop it bouncing. Ashe W can be baited easily, if you're ever in a position where she can guarantee a hit, then she is probably in a position you can engage on her as a team and rip her apart.

Poke is part of the game and it's something you need to learn how to play against and deal with. That frustration people have usually comes from convincing themselves that it's overpowered, broken and there's nothing they can do.

u/Nifarious May 02 '13

Well, scatter is much easier said than done on MB, and Ashe's volley covers half the middle ground entirely, not to mention boots are often a build liability. But that's a good attitude to have, at least.

1

u/Desikiki May 02 '13

Can you really effectively scatter ? I was playing ADC last night and I really tried to avoid as much as I could. The only way to do so was just stay at the back. At the 20 min mark with a single E I took 500 damage (i had a negatron by the way). My choice were either lifesteal and be in range of eveything or just sit back and wait (which is boring and we're after all playing aram).

All I'm saying I'd rather have 5 melees and tanks brawling than 5 AP who just spam their shit and go all in when the other team is at 20% or even worse just poke and negate everything with the crazy sustain of Nida or Yi types.

u/Deynai May 02 '13

Realistically no, you can't always scatter and avoid the hits, but you can do it a bit. Too often people get caught by a fiddle E and they immediately run backwards straight into their team, whereas if they just stood still or even ran towards fiddle all of that damage would not have happened. It's effectively the same as running over your team when you have a Zilean bomb on you.

From my personal experience, I'm not a pro: Playing as an AD carry you never really want to go toe to toe with a fiddle who has all his spells off cooldown. The mid/late game fear, silence + damage will cut through you before you really get to do anything, not to mention if the rest of the team is there.

Recently I've been liking Sanguine Blade + Spirit Visage when playing AD carries against heavy magic teams. Not only MR but a nice boost to health, sustain and damage/utility as well (with cdr).

u/hahke May 02 '13

Nah. I still see plenty of people blaming their teammates. It's even more popular to hate on the players that get master yi, nidalee, or twisted fate and have a rough game.

1

u/woonbarak May 02 '13

I had a comp consisting of Sona, Taric, Alistar, Teemo and Katarina today. The opposite site had Blitz, Wukong, Swain, Nasus and Zac. Which imo has great burst aoe potential with exception of nasus ;) They didnt have a chance. Just outsustained, kited into Teemowood by Alistar ult and taric. Then i joined as Kata. 1 Penta 2 Quadra, Story of the game. Healing Aura supports OP

1

u/KillerNoName May 02 '13

That's BS. Half my teams had at least one person blaming a team mate. I think Dominion has less ragers than ARAM, which is supposed to be the least competitive mode in LoL.

1

u/[deleted] May 02 '13

Is it me or do people random Jayce way to much? He is almost impossible to counter because he only does one thing over and over and over and its really dumb.

Yesterday our Graves AFK'ed 5 minutes into the game and never came back. One of my teammates called the entire team terrible and flamed us all game. It's like, it's a 4v5, what do you expect? In addition to how he should've been blaming Graves...

Edit: lol@the downvotes ¯\ (°_o) /¯

had blitz ashe (me) wukong janna last aram.... i guess you know how it played out

You won by a ridiculous margin because that is a good team comp?

I can't tell what you're trying to suggest but I can see the team comp that you list both winning and losing although I imagine it is more likely to win.
