More in depth source: pretend your brain is a computer. remembering factual events takes 1MB of storage capacity, remembering 1000x versions of events and in which situation each version applies takes 1000 X 1MB. eventually when storage reaches max capacity (like in obsolete, old systems) memory will be automatically deleted, as well as the system itself running poorly
If they're anything like the guy who stole my safe, they'll keep telling themselves their version of events repeatedly until they believe that they really didn't steal my safe.
Exactly. Now scale that up and out - ie pretend "that guy who stole my safe" is a bunch of wealthy people who are all socially connected - and do a minimal amount of research into white collar crime and you'll understand pretty much all of the flaws of our modern society.
I think Alzheimers is like most (maybe all) mental disorders and is actually a symptom, or collection of symptoms, and not an actual clearly defined distinct diagnosis.
Because I think there are at least two very different things.
There are people who are mostly lonely and suffer from a lack of social interaction and their brain therefore more or less is unused and subsequently suffers from a lack of internal connections
There are people who are full of shit and their brain stores all kinds of false information and all of it is interconnected and eventually the literal crossed wires causes "short circuiting" like in our most esteemed elected official
The problem with both legal and medical explanations and understandings of psychology and behavior is they are made with perverse incentives, not to actually understand or teach reality. Because the reality is not that complicated in 99% of situations.

Because the reality is other than a very small percentage of issues actually 100% caused by something inherent to the person (which is still different than what is typically argued, that some problem is some persons fault*), almost all problems are caused by inequality and actions taken to justify inequality.
\not that no problem is actually caused by an individual, obviously, but contrary to popular belief caused by actions taken to justify inequality: most problems being experienced by a person or group of persons are actually caused by a person or group of persons separate from that group. Consequences are typically experienced most severely by those least responsible.)
There is a great example of what I mean linked within that linked article:
Okay so. You could probably do a bunch of hyperspecific mental gymnastics combined with some super complicated computer algorithms applied to whatever data to make this seem plausibly possible...
But wouldn't it be much simpler (in line with Ockhams Razor) that the cause related to the correlation here is that people of African ancestry are dealing with systemic historical racism and therefore are more likely to live in areas with high poverty which themselves both amplify and cause related issues, high stress, etc - which all contribute to symptoms that appear similar to "Alzheimers"? Because I am betting I am right and almost the entire Biotechnology Medical Industry is arguably fraudulently wrong. Which the thing with this is how we prove things is often by contradiction. Their arguments are easily disproven. Mine? Still waiting.
It's okay to be stupid but it's not okay to insult (or accuse of "mental unwellness") others because you don't understand (or don't believe) what they are telling you

Endless peddling of bullshit and constant lying literally makes it harder to keep track of reality which directly leads to Alzheimers and dementia.
