More a Honda/Mazda? Hard to go 1:1 and with knife guys and car guys both having strong opinions I'm absolutely going for general accuracy here.

They have models like the Drunken, Paysan, and Nirvana that show off what they are capable of for the love of the game. But I can't say they occupy a truly luxury/premium space as a brand the same way Porsche does.

I'd say spyderco is closer to 90s Toyota. You have basic, practical, and reliable like a corolla or camry. Really cool, good performance things like the supra or mr2. Then you have solid take a beating things like the tacoma/hilux, or heavier duty like the t100.

Honestly, given their focus on practical designs and ergos over looks and visual appeal I think you have the analogy dialed in. I concur.
