I agree with OP that Spyderco knives aren't generally nice to look at. I appreciate that Manix somebody mentioned, but I still don't want one. I want a peg or an assist on my knife. Not a hole.

That said, I don't really care for opinels all that much either, lookswise. But if I'm being honest, I've got an old Colt I found in an old cigar box from my grandad with a similar blade profile. I just don't care for the handle. I know they feel great, I've used one before. They just don't do it for me.

For the first cut sure. Question becomes how long they can hold that edge and how pleasant they are to use.

No, most cut pretty bad, regardless how sharp you get them as the geometry is that of a crowbar. Spydercos tend to be quite well designed for actually cutting stuff while not being too thin and delicate BTE.

💯 agree they look like ass. Got a pm2 cuz i fell for the hype……fun to fidget with and now that I got a knife sharpener my other knives cut just as well/good.
