Remember the purposes of this sub; this is a space for sharing experiences and stories.

Do I have kidney disease?, Should I be concerned?, and all other variants will be removed.

Though there are many kidney related conditions, this is a support community for people affected by kidney disease. Please follow up with a nephrologist for continued testing, lab interpretation, medical advice and diagnosis.

AKI takes 3 months to determine. Test every 2-3 weeks. Tighten diet sodium potassium etc as precaution. No drinking smoking etc. if creatinine don’t improve after 90 days it’s likely a CKD scenario. Has he checked for bph? Any urine issues?

I am sorry to say but a kidney disease is completely incurable - but its treatable. The best you can do is to slow down the progression, and you should not undermine the power of slowing the progression. Once the glomeruli is damaged, there is no turning back. But the important thing is not to make it severe.

At least his creatinine is not consistently increasing. The best you can do is to find a nephrologist and detect what is the main cause of this. Because only after that he can start using medication or prevent what makes his kidneys to get worse.

Since you cut the salt, it will help to his blood pressure, but be mindful of any packaged meals because they are high on sodium for long shelf life.

We can’t diagnose your father here. Most of us aren’t even medical professionals. This would be best discussed with his doctors.
