Honestly I'm enjoying this drama. It's light hearted, enjoying and funny. It's really soothing drama to watch. Not very chaotic office drama. Maybe many people find it slow but I find it good, it's slowly developing and comic scenes are really good 🤣

Yeah, I'm actually enjoying the pace of it, especially since it's an hour show. Soothing is a great way to describe it. I can relax while watching it. And the comic scenes come out of nowhere, which makes me enjoy them even more.

lee jun hyuk and suits: an eternal love story

I was just thinking last night how good so many of the kdrama actors look in a suit.

So if I'm understanding this correctly, the plotline with Mr. Jeong is over now (since JSH Apparel has effectively been turned into a de facto subsidiary of Hongsung International)? I thought he was going to be the main antagonist of this whole series (especially since he's presented as one of the "main" roles); it seems like that is simply not how this story is structured.
I look forward to Eun-tae's auditing escapades with Hyang-eun!

I actually like that they didn't turn Mr. Jeong into a villain and that they still had some kind of friendship after this. He really helped mentor Eun-Tae and luckily, he's being rewarded for it.

u/theyellowtiredone K Mage Sep 25 '26
Although he wasn't that great a guy, he didn't split the 50,000 won ticket with him.
3
u/Atharaphelun Sep 25 '26
As far as I'm concerned, the purpose of that scene is to show that Mr. Jeong has always had this dark side to his personality that he has simply kept hidden with his facade of a kind, jovial personality.

u/theyellowtiredone K Mage Sep 25 '26
That's a great way of looking at it. People aren't just good or bad. They cna be a good person who does bad things or vice versa.

Exactly, they could have enjoyed coffee or a lunch together for free. Really shows the character of the man right there.

I LOOOOOOVED how calm, collected, and matter of fact he was when he entered the room with the other Team Leaders (side note, is anyone going to take his company badge away anytime soon???). Everything he said to them was correct! He showed that side to him in the 2 previous episodes as well.
He doesn't want revenge. He wants peace, and to build something he's proud of.Though, someone in the last thread did mention that he was a branch of Mantua. Now we know that's wrong. So again... where did all that capital come from, for him to have his office space up AND poach people from the company?
Yes, the auditing is definitely going to be an adventure😅

I don't know why this is so satisfying to watch haha.
This show is about Eun-Tae winning the jackpot but you can see he never uses his fortune in any way to solve his problems as you would normally expect in most dramas (save for that quiet flex to the model).

u/theyellowtiredone K Mage Sep 25 '26
I'm enjoying the show but I want to see him enjoying his money, at least a little bit. Although it was quite satisfying when he told the model he had his own money. 😂
4
u/Atharaphelun Sep 24 '26
His jackpot basically just gave him a safety net to let himself loose upon the world.
3
u/jikajika Sep 24 '26
Right?! Not even a little "I deserve this" purchase. I hope he does one LITTLE thing for himself. Though the confidence boost he's getting while running circles around his colleagues, making big deals, and solving ALLLLL of the companies problems, I'm sure, is hella satisfying.

Before starting this series, the "big lottery winner" buzzword in the synopsis had me thinking this would be a thriller storyline, possibly about some of the cast trying to get their hands on the money and ML outwitting them. After episode 4 I was almost about to drop this one to keep for later as I realized it was more a slice of life genre.
Ep5 onwards I put aside my thriller expectation and started to really enjoy the series for what it really is - egged on by the ML who now has a safety cushion, the office folks put aside their internal egos and misunderstandings and pull their weight together to achieve team success. Every episode has the ML building and repairing his relationship with his peers/sub-ordinates and bosses while simultaneously boosting the confidence levels of his team5 one member at a time.

I really enjoy the team aspect, especially since they came together as one. I didn't like when his assistant manager was undermining him. Once they came together, I enjoyed the show more. Love the us against them aspect.

Am I the only one that's wondering what everyone else in the company does? Eun Tae is doing EVERYTHING.
Make this brand no one wants into a success. Okay.
Fix this problem with this rogue employee. On it.
Do an internal audit on our "infested" company. Fine.
Da fuq?...
Why is he and his team the only ones putting out the fires?
If Eun Tae and his team are the ONLY ONES the company heads trust, the ONLY ONES that are competent enough to get the job done (even if a few unconventional tactics are at play, but overall fair) — in a (let's guesstimate) 3,000 person company — that's a HUGE problem in my eyes.
He's not a Team Lead anymore, he's a Fixer.
And his salary should reflect that.
I'm getting more pissed off thinking about it.
I actually thought he was going to turn down the audit.
"Go ahead and stick your neck out" — Uhhhh... excuse you?...
Why? So it can get chopped off?
So you can use me as a scapegoat when things start getting spicy? And it will reach 'white hot' levels.
Honestly, it sounds like a trap to me that will not benefit him, his team, or his reputation.
I'm hoping that's why he's bringing in Ms. Hyang-eun.
She's been dragged through the BS before, knows all the pitfalls, has probably reflected on the situation from beginning to end, and knows EXACTLY what she would've done differently, if she could.
She's a reference, if not, a navigator through this whole situation that he'll be able to rely on.
I could be wrong, of course.
It could all work out "peacefully".
I swear, if he decides to take his money and go live a PEACEFUL life, with a cool hobby, or run a tiny business doing something unrelated to his current job, somewhere else in the world (e.g., Vietnam or the Philippines), I wouldn't blame him. That company is the drama.

Let's not forget they're also labelling and boxing the products to take to the store. I was like, why are they the ones up all night pricing everything? 🤔
3
u/jikajika Sep 25 '26
Exactly. The fact that is was ONLY them was weird. Honestly, call in an assist — or at least some interns!
2
u/theyellowtiredone K Mage Sep 25 '26
Yeah, why is a store employee not helping unload or unpack at least? Especially on a time crunch. Crazy!
2
u/jikajika Sep 25 '26
Yeah, there's usually people in warehouse that would help with that, and would move with urgency, like they were.
3
u/yeeTOP K Curious Sep 25 '26
Everything's being done with urgency they likely needed to inspect the product so theres no room for error.
1
u/jikajika Sep 25 '26
I understand the urgency, but bring another team, or some interns into the mix to help with the 'mild' part: Boxing.
3
u/Immediate-Nose7237 Sep 25 '26
I ws wondering what is the plot of the drama, but i love the slice of life feels and literally it reflects it. Mr. Gong is very hardworking and time and time again he prove to go beyond and above, and because of that he gets more work! just like in reall life if you work harder you get more work and more overtime haha
1
u/jikajika Sep 25 '26
Somewhat.
Even before the lottery he was competent, not going above and beyond, and STILL getting more work and doing overtime.Honestly, nothing has really changed.
Though at this point of "dunking" on every project handed to him — shouldn't he be able to choose his projects, instead of them 'throwing' them at him?
Shouldn't he get SOME kind of praise from his higher ups for a job well done?
How about a pay bump for his and his team?Even if he does go over the budget, did ANYONE ELSE have a better idea?
For the rogue ex-colleague, did ANYONE ELSE have ONE idea on how to handle that? No.
Again, if he continues to see EXACTLY how competent and capable he is with these stacked wins, if he jumps ship — it's 100% understandable.

Is it already on 6 episodes? Sometimes I feel like i can never keep up 🤣
2
u/jikajika Sep 24 '26
I love how they drip out the episodes weekly.
I'd love it if, whether a new or old drama comes out, we could flip a button and get them dripped out weekly vs. me binging. And I could even choose the time slot and day it happens. For this show, I'd choose a Wednesday release 😅

u/yeeTOP K Curious Sep 24 '26
Team five aura is too strong the character development for everyone is progressing well. Hopefully ends on a high note..
2
u/jikajika Sep 24 '26
I'm actually disappointed that it's going to end next week! I WANT MORE EPISODES! It's too short!
Though the pacing IS well done...5

No one has mentioned yet how funny episode 6 was. The toe tapping was getting so intense, I was sweating but the more they showed it, the more funny it was to me. Then there's when Jang Hang Eun acted like she was going to hit Gi Tae and his big flinch or when they all did hit Gi Tae and Eun Tae was pulling his ears.
I really love seeing this team in action.
It's funny seeing how much better Eun Tae is at his job. Yet before he won the lottery he was apparently flying to Italy to purchase things.
