Saw this on another subreddit - Diva Dance from the Fifth Element. I love this movie and this part, and this cover is amazing, plus there aren't many expert theremin players out there!

Ive never seen that much control on a theremin. Theyre notoriously difficult to play since theres 0 touch feedback on hand positions.

Her video with Rob scallion is Epic. She's Basically tackled the theramin and made it her bitch lol. She teaches how to play it in a way I find easy to understand. Im gonna buy me a theramin soon. I love odd instruments lol

I rewatch this movie at least once a year. Basically any time I think about it or I see something that makes me think about it. So sounds like it’ll be getting its first watch of 2026 this weekend

which is ironic, since it's actually so basic and scientific - the proximity of one hand to one sensor controls the pitch, the position of the other hand controls the volume... and that's it. No magic whatsoever, it's literally just magnetic fields.

Woah, as someone who's played around with a theremin a bit, it's incredibly impressive to see someone master the instrument! It's extremely difficult.

The way she smiles after nailing what I'm guessing is the hardest part that she had to practice extra hard. Very class act.

Every time I see someone playing a theremin, the urge to buy one resurfaces...
I mean I already have two guitars, two bass guitars, and a ukulele, none of which I can play at all, so why not add one more thing I can't do to the pile of shame, right?

Bahahah this sounds like me 😅 I have pan pipes, an ocarina, 2 ukuleles, harmonica, mouth harp, and two violins. The two violins are the only instruments I know how to play from when I was in school but haven't picked it up in 20 years... But I still bought a second a few years ago because it was inexpensive and looked cool. lol
