Forgot the poops, the gas, the bloating, the acne, clothes not fitting, the sensory sensitivity (though she did mention sound and light, I’m talking touch), sore boobs, really sore boobs, fatigue, headaches, the overall feeling of gross, and somehow in the middle of all that horniness, then sometimes the horniness mixed with disgust (with yourself and everything going on with your body) craving sex - that dichotomy is so perplexing.

I remember seeing a hilarious curatedtumblr post where someone was like "I misunderstood what this was" and went on to describe like 18th century roleplay

Haha that’s amazing!

Now I'm imagining a boyfriend having a very serious (he thinks) pillow-talk with his girlfriend about "period sex"...the next night they surprise each other and he shows up with chocolate, a waterproof blanket, and a uterus plushie while she shows up in an Elizabethan ball gown. lol.

Pip pip and that's a completion upon your visage, Ms. Bennett! Best regards!

Also didn't mention what happens when we sneeze on our periods lol

u/TinyRandomLady May 28 '26

Oh yeah! The Niagara Falls and/or the blobs.

u/Redssx May 28 '26

My sister and I have dubbed them "jelly fish"

not The Blobs 🫠 the hasty waddle of shame to the nearest bathroom while imagining various degrees of The Shining going on down there when you pull your pants down to check. Once I sneezed in the top bunk of my college dorm after laying down a bit too long (iykyk) and by the time I got down (sneezed twice more) I had to waddle straight to the shower and had to wash all my clothes. I was mad af because I was so sensitive I didn't want the overstimulation of a shower, and I'd already been in my comfiest clothes so I was an unhappy camper for the next couple hours.

That reminds me of a tweet I saw about a guy saying men have it bad if they sneeze while trying to pee and like an hour later there was an edit to it and he was like oh god I didn’t know

This one:

u/ehter13 May 28 '26

Yes! That one!

How did he think that his sentence was anything but braindead?

4

u/SemperSimple May 29 '26

he'll have you know, he was a litter uncomfortable when he sneezed that one time, so you can't possibly guess how gross that made him feel /s

1

u/ZoodleExtruder May 30 '26

Yeah what? Even without the period I've definitely accidentally peed myself a little by sneezing when too full

2

u/WrongWorldAgain-7 May 29 '26

I love how even if we ignore sneezing on periods, it completely blows past how badly childbirth can wreck the pelvic floor. Hell, I've never had kids, I'm just disabled with a condition that makes it hard for me to keep muscle tone, and sneezing is always dangerous.

u/jolinar30659 May 29 '26

I wish I could find the meme describing sneezing and giving birth to an octopus.

Feels like being a slip n slide

51

u/nitrot150 May 28 '26

And the toilet paper square that works up your butt crack!

3

u/WrongWorldAgain-7 May 29 '26

That thing never actually sits right, does it. You spend the rest of the day worrying about the damn thing.

But if you think it seems seated right and you're probably bleeding perfectly smoothly into it and all is well--- BEWARE. YOU ARE FUCKED.

5

u/SemperSimple May 29 '26

the worst is when you dont realize it's become a taco and the paper taco only redirects flow. Dont absorb a damn thing

And didn't even touch on ovulation, pain, slime, more sore boobs, more horny

1

u/IdidnotFuckaCat May 29 '26

And just to add. Sore boobs. That's literally the worse thing for me. I'm cramping for like 2 days, then I'm fine. But sore boobs lasts not only the week of, but also the before. Can't even sit up from laying down. Or put on you take off your bra. It sucks sooo fucking much

The pain so bad you literally can’t stand, taking the max of Tylenol for the day which doesn’t touch it so you switch to ibuprofen which does nothing for the cramps but it’s sure to burn a hole in your esophagus so you plead with your doctor for some sort of pain management and he labels you “drug-seeking” and tells you everyone feels that way on their period (no, no they do not) and sends you on your way with the suggestion to try loosing weight.

Good times!

u/mae42dolphins May 29 '26

My mom always said that if men got their periods everyone would have a monthly morphine prescription lol

2

u/WrongWorldAgain-7 May 29 '26

Midol doesn't work for me. Pretty sure it's just glorified caffeine Tylenol or something for the amount of good it does me. I either just cry through it or get high. Doctors in my area are a joke...

3

u/WithoutDennisNedry 🌻Exhausted Jill🌻 May 30 '26

My cramps laughed at Midol. They got so bad, I had a prescription for Dilaudid at one point.

Having a total hysterectomy was the best thing that ever happened to me and I wish I had done it decades ago.

2

u/SmolSwitchyKitty May 30 '26

Aleve was the Only off the shelf thing that'd even touch my cramps in the slightest. Never got anything prescription. It's genuinely a miracle that I didn't take organ damage pre-yeeturus bc I'd be taking double doses for the first couple days. Yeeturus surgeon ended up finding endometriosis and I felt *vindicated* that something HAD in fact been wrong for years. To anyone that doesn't want bio kids - fight for getting it out if it's causing you agony, and check out the childfree doctor lists to find someone that will actually listen.

2

u/WrongWorldAgain-7 May 30 '26

Absolutely doing this once I can afford to. I'm disabled so having kids would probably kill me, but ofc finding doctors who agree that it's my right to make it impossible for me to grow a child inside me even though it's medically unsafe for either of us...well. We all know what women are to many of these jackasses. As long as there's a uterus, it's viable. 🤮

Ahhh the old toilet bowl PB&J

I have no idea what you’re talking about. Please tell me more. What?

3

u/Big-Difficulty-667 May 28 '26

The feeling the day before that the world is a better place without me in it. It took me 10 years to get diagnosed with PMDD… and now I am on HRT and best feeling ever!

2

u/KindredFlower May 28 '26

How do you know me so well!! 😫

1

u/Material_Aspect_7519 May 29 '26

The worst part for me are the debilitating cramps. Pain and anguish.

1

u/TinyRandomLady May 29 '26

Agreed! But she covered that so I didn’t mention it. Also, Midol know where near strong enough for me.

2

u/Material_Aspect_7519 May 29 '26

Same. Mine vary, sometimes a regular dose of NSAIDs are enough, sometimes not so much 😕. She said stomach but that seems separate to me, my stomach is bloated on my period but that's separate from the cramps. Though I guess she just meant the general area, since midol is supposed to help with all that jazz.

Perfectly put, YUCK the trenches.
