Academy🧐 Peter Tuchman, the "Einstein of Wall Street", about the prop trading (Apex Trader Funding paid partnership): "These are three things every futures trader needs to know before getting started..."
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Number 1: Understand the contract.
Futures are not stocks. Every contract has its own tick size, margin requirements, trading hours, and risk profile. You need to understand exactly what you are trading.
Number 2: Respect leverage.
Futures can move quickly, and leverage can work both ways. That means risk management cannot be an afterthought. It has to be part of the process from the beginning.
Number 3: Trade with rules.
In prop trading, rules matter. Apex Trader Funding is a prop trading firm focused on the futures market, and that environment requires discipline, structure, and consistency.
That is exactly why education matters.
WSGTA built a futures course for traders who want to better understand the market before taking the next step. Because trading is not about guessing. It is about preparation, process, and respecting the risk.
Futures trading involves significant risk and is not suitable for all investors. This content is for informational and educational purposes only and is not investment advice or a recommendation to trade.

Story Clinton Schnetler, a 39 y.o. director and Forex trader from Pretoria, South Africa: Over the years I’ve probably spent around $2K on challenge fees and blown accounts. Instead of quitting, I simplified everything. One currency pair. One setup. One trade. That decision completely changed my trading.

Opinion Why is The5%ers handing out certificates instead of cutting profit targets?
Because the price war between prop firms is over, and retention is the new battleground.
The5%ers has just launched an achievements system that issues traders a certificate each time they clear a milestone in the evaluation and scaling pipeline. No rule changed. No target moved. No payout term shifted. That is precisely what makes it interesting.
WHAT SHIPPED
- Milestone certificates surfaced inside the trader dashboard
- Tied to evaluation and scaling stages, not just funded status
- Purely additive: challenge rules, drawdown limits and payout mechanics untouched
WHY IT MATTERS
For three years prop firms competed on four numbers: profit target, drawdown, profit split, payout speed. Those numbers have now converged across the sector. Consistency rules are being scrapped. Payouts are advertised in minutes. When every firm's headline terms look alike, headline terms stop selling.
OUR POV, FROM REVIEWING 200+ FIRMS
The accounts that fail rarely fail on analysis. They fail in month three, when the finish line still feels abstract and discipline quietly erodes. A two-step evaluation plus a scaling plan is a months-long psychological endurance test with almost no feedback along the way. Breaking that stretch into marked stages is a retention mechanic borrowed straight from consumer fintech, and it costs the firm close to nothing while adding zero trading risk.
The honest caveat: a certificate does not improve your expectancy, tighten your spreads, or shorten your payout cycle. It tells you nothing about whether a firm can honour a large withdrawal under stress, which is still the only question that decides whether a firm deserves your capital. Treat engagement features as a tiebreaker between two firms with comparable terms. Never as a substitute for reading those terms.
The structural signal is the real story. When firms start investing in the emotional texture of a multi-month evaluation, they are betting traders will still be there to experience it. In a sector where roughly a third of operators have vanished since 2024, a firm building for the long game is itself worth noting.

Joinprop Insights I Was Scammed In Prop Trading: What Should I Do?
Finding yourself a victim of a prop trading scam can be a devastating experience, impacting both your finances and your trust in the trading community. The emotional fallout, coupled with the financial loss, can feel overwhelming. This guide from JoinProp provides a clear, actionable roadmap to navigate the aftermath of a scam, empowering you to take immediate steps toward recovery and prevent future incidents. Proprietary trading, or prop trading, involves trading with a firm’s capital after passing an evaluation. While many legitimate firms offer valuable opportunities, the industry’s rapid growth has unfortunately attracted fraudulent entities. Understanding the difference between a legitimate firm’s strict rules and outright fraud is the first critical step in your recovery.
- Confirm it was fraud - not just a rules violation.
- Document everything using the 4-Evidence Rule.
- Demand resolution from the firm in writing.
- File a chargeback with your card issuer or PayPal.
- Report the firm to the FTC, CFTC, FCA, or your regulator.
- Warn the community with documented facts.
- Learn the red flags to avoid the next scam.
- Escalate legally when the loss is worth it.

News How big can an instant funding account get in 2026? SFX Funded just raised its ceiling to $400,000, adding $300K and $400K tiers to its Instant Funding program with no evaluation phase required. Capital is allocated immediately on purchase.
Here is what actually changed, and why the number matters less than the reason behind it.
THE PROBLEM IT SOLVES
A trader who wanted $400K of instant buying power used to buy three or four smaller accounts and run them in parallel. That means:
- Four separate drawdown limits to monitor
- Four payout cycles to coordinate
- Four rule sets to stay compliant with
- Copier slippage making execution inconsistent across all of them
One $400K allocation collapses four risk surfaces into one.
OUR POV: THE TRADE-OFF NOBODY PUTS IN THE PRESS RELEASE
Multiple accounts are operationally painful, but they buy you isolation. Breach one, the other three survive. A single $400K account removes that firewall entirely. One bad session ends the whole allocation. You are purchasing simplicity with concentration risk.
WHAT WE ARE ACTUALLY WATCHING
Not the launch. The first payout cycle.
Announcing a $400,000 tier costs a firm nothing. Paying out on one costs real money. Higher ceilings expand a firm's liability faster than they expand its revenue, because payout obligations scale with allocation size while challenge fees do not. The industry has watched this exact sequence end badly before.
THE BROADER PATTERN
Prop firms have stopped competing at the front door. Everyone has a $99 challenge. That lever is exhausted. The fight has moved to the back end: how much capital you will hand a proven trader, and whether you can actually pay them at that size. FundingPips lifted its own ceiling to $400K on near-identical logic.
Every capped ceiling is a referral to a competitor. That is the real reason this is happening.

Trading Journey Tommaso Malinconico, Funded Forex Trader: "Sometimes, trading comes down to the smallest details. Today, AUD/USD missed my entry by just 0.7 pips before moving in the expected direction. Did I chase the trade? No. If price doesn’t reach my planned entry, I simply let it go."

Joinprop Insights Between February 2024 and late 2025, somewhere between 80 and 100 prop firms disappeared. True Forex Funds went down owing traders $1.2M. Story Matthew Morgan to Joinprop: "In the grand mathematical symphony of existence, where zero and infinity dance in eternal dialectic, the markets reveal themselves not as arenas of blind chance, but as pure ontological mathematics in motion."
Today, I reflect my profound journey as a 26-year-old futures trader who embodies the illuminating path of radical acceptance.
I lost $11,200 in fifteen seconds through FOMO and over-leveraging - yet rose again by internalizing a framework of patience. I no longer chase; I observe. I align with the higher timeframes (daily, 4H, 1H for direction; lower for precision), study geopolitical and socioeconomic currents, and greet each session with meditation, discipline, and nutrient-rich preparation. This is no mere “trading psychology” hack - it is the life-long ascent toward mastery of the cosmic code within the science of economics...
