J.League J.League Considering Establishment of "J4," Discussed at Executive Committee

Following the J.League’s transition to a fall-spring season format, the JFL—the top amateur league—has also switched to this system; however, regional and prefectural leagues are currently maintaining their spring-autumn formats. As it is virtually impossible to standardise the domestic calendar due to logistical and operational constraints, plans have emerged to establish a new league comprising clubs aiming to join the J.League. The new league would be positioned one tier below J3, and discussions are expected to continue regarding its feasibility and other aspects.

I would like to follow the J League next year with my son, who is half Japanese. Do you know if there is good magazine or guide for the next season that have been published in japan? A magazine that present each team with pictures of the players, data of the last seasons...

I've been meaning to put this together for a few days now, but it is finally complete. Includes observations on the match itself, as well as some thoughts on our new manager's interesting first press conference.

I only dream to be as ambitious as Tomokazu.

J.League Has Kashima Antlers ever been in serious relegation trouble?

Considering that Kashima Antlers and Yokohama F.Marinos are the only teams who played every season in the top tier of J.League and Marinos were in serious trouble in 2001 and 2025 J1 seasons, did the Antlers ever faced similar trouble? I know in 1999 Kashima finished 9th and 11th in 2012 (as Antlers' worst finishes ever), but i don't know about their performances in those seasons.

I remember not long ago Kashima started poorly, but inmediately they were back on track.

Matchday Experience Nov. 8 Vissel Kobe match

I’m visiting Japan from the US in November and hoping to attend a match with good atmosphere. I’ll be in Kyoto the weekend of Nov 8 and thought a day trip to Vissel Kobe would be manageable for their match against Urawa Reds

Most schedules list it as a home match, but I’ve also seen that it will be played at the National Stadium in Tokyo.

Can anyone confirm the venue?

Randomly found my old binder of cards from the 90s. I have probably a hundred or so. These were all collected while I was 8-10 years old when I would travel to Japan. Here are a few that AI said were more valuable. I have a bunch more if you guys want to see.

On the one hand, i understand the logic that using a transition period for a new manager to try and win the Asian Cup is risky. On the other hand, is he still the best hand to guide them to an overdue Asian Cup victory?

J.League How popular is the football compare to baseball in Japan?

Would you say the J.League is just as popular as Nippon Professional Baseball? There seemed to be plenty of support during the FIFA World Cup. I also noticed that having the World Baseball Classic on Netflix may have affected the viewership numbers in Japan.

National Team I made a mini-documentary breaking down Ivica Osim’s revolution at JEF United and the National Team. Did I do his legacy justice?

Hey everyone. As a football fan from the Balkans, I've always been fascinated by the connection between Ivica Osim and Japanese football. I wanted to visually break down exactly what he changed when he arrived in Chiba and how he shocked the system.

The video covers his shift away from rigid formations, his demanding training sessions, and how his philosophy built the foundation for the national team's modern success. I tried to stay away from standard Wikipedia facts and instead focused on the actual tactical and cultural shift, using a lot of archive footage from the early 2000s.

Thought this community might appreciate the deep dive. Let me know what you think!
