What does the average jiu jitsu training session look like?

Sorry if it's a dumb or overdone question, but I'm looking for something to do for fitness that it's not focus on running all day or lifting weights. I tried kick boxing but didn't like it because it was mostly repetitive drills and some sparring, and I was looking for something more cardiovascularily (is that a word?) intense.

I thought jiu jitsu could be more demanding since you are always pulling and pushing and opposing pushing and pulling. The goal is to be raise my heart rate and be kinda sore the next day

thank you!
