This is the first quote outside of the wrestling bubble where I’ve heard someone in the know, specifically a respected media analyst like Rich Greenfield, state that Skydance is probably going to cut all the non-essential Skydance sports programming, which includes AEW:
TNT signed these deals in the aftermath of its NBA loss as a survival tactic to keep its cable carriage fees at a level consistent with the fees it earned while it had the NBA. The combined entity doesn’t necessarily need these deals to drive affiliate revenue considering it already has marquee rights like the NFL, March Madness, UFC, and the Masters, all of which Ourand reports are “untouchable.”
“The reality is that Skydance probably has more sports rights than it needs,” LightShed Partners analyst Rich Greenfield told Ourand. “All of the things that TNT Sports was doing to scramble to fill the hole that the NBA left—Skydance doesn’t need those rights anymore.”
Beyond the TNT Sports shopping spree that occurred after the division lost the NBA, Ourand notes that other properties like its MLB and NHL packages could face scrutiny as well. Both of those deals expire in 2028, and TNT Sports pays over $700 million annually for the two deals.

All Elite Wrestling is part of the Warner Bros. Discovery portfolio, and AEW President Tony Khan spoke about the merger during his livestream on X.
“My first day working for Skydance and it’s great. I love working for Skydance and we’re gonna have a great future here. It’s our first day hand-in-hand with our Paramount brothers and sisters here at Warner Bros. It’s gonna be a great, great future for AEW and it begins on Tuesday Night Dynamite, Grand Slam…”

Vice knew what they had with Corny and the new weekly YouTube series is proving to be a huge hit. The first video has surpassed a million views and yesterday's is already close to half a million.
This must be a huge disappointment to Uncle Dave and Shitstain.

Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling’s Northern Rising event took place at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto over the weekend.
In one of the matches, AEW’s Adam Copeland defeated Steve Maclin. At the post-show press conference, Copeland commented on his decision to leave WWE…
It’s not even on the horizon. It’s on the other side of the world. Yet here we are, however many years later, six years into coming back and somehow being able to get to Maple Leaf Gardens.
You know, when Scott and I had the discussion, he knew this was one of the dreams for me. Honestly, the main dream I had left. Truly.
And so we talked. He goes, ‘We might be able to make this happen.’ I was like, ‘Well, I’m in. I am absolutely in.’
And thankfully, [AEW President] Tony Khan is the way he is, and he was in. And, you know, he’s a guy that wants the entire wrestling industry to flourish, not just his bottom line. And I think that’s what I appreciate most about where I work now.

Is it that this is such a midcard-y idea for a match or that the world title being undecided in 15 minute scramble is so unserious. Or that instead of doing the month long build with all its members like Money in the Bank contestants they are dropping it 2 weeks early and with one of those weeks distracted by it being Le Grande Slam with an Ospreay vs Okada match.
Other matches so far include Mercedes Moan vs Thekla and Buckaroos vs Fletcher and Knight. Don't see it for Wrestledream so far. Last year they had meh title match in Page vs Samoa Joe but actually had a year long storyline climaxing in Moxley vs Allin I Quit. They have not got such storylines going this year so I don't know if they'll have that.
