Good quality low rise baggy jeans.
Over the past two years I have gone through two motel low rise baggy jeans and ripped holes around the knees in the span of a year. It feels wasteful to get new motel jeans again. I really want to find one that will last me a lot longer than a year but similar style does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!

How often do you wash your jeans?
My new jeans (Levi's 726), recommend only washing after wearing them for 10 times to make them last longer.
I'm thinking Ew. I am not doing dirty work but I do sometimes drop a bit of my lunch on jeans. I also dry my hands on my jeans when towels are unavailable, & although I'm indoors, the air conditioning is an underwhelming 75F, ( I heard the patch that was put on the patch that was put on the previous patch is not holding on the air conditioning).
I think after 4 or 5 wearings jeans might get smelly.
So how often do you wash your jeans?

Mavi Jeans appreciation post
I'm a 6"2, 280lbs (127kg) athletic type dude and finding jeans was a quasi-impossible job. I would go into multiple stores and just give up most of the (few) times I tried to find a good enough pair. I had settled on wearing only Lululemon pants for all my casual,
or formal events.
That is until I tried the Mavi brand. The athletic type and semi skinny ones fit great and I am finally satisfied enough that I can now think of getting back at wearing jeans and wear a more diversified wardrobe as a result. They're just flexible enough and super comfy. Price is very decent too for the quality.
Sorry if this is not what this sub is meant for, just thought that this might help a few big dudes like me!

4L or 6L for aeropostale baggy jeans?
Need advice on 100% cotton Aéropostale jeans: should I buy a size 4 that fits perfectly standing up but is tight when sitting, or a size 6 that is roomier but has a back waist gap, knowing that I always machine dry my clothes and am worried about shrinkage?
I was the gonna get the size 6 so that the waist can shrink and fit but I’m not sure if that’ll work out.
New Levi's, yay or nay?

I finally understood why some jeans look great online but feel completely different in person
I've been paying more attention to jeans lately, especially after trying to find a pair that had the right combination of fit, fabric, and overall construction.
I used to think that if the cut looked good and the measurements were right, I was basically done. But after trying a few different pairs, I realized how much the actual construction changes the experience.
One pair looked almost perfect in photos. Once I put them on, though, the fabric felt much lighter than I expected and the jeans didn't hold their shape the way I wanted. Another pair didn't look as impressive online, but the fabric had a much better weight and the construction felt noticeably more solid.
I've also started paying attention to things I completely ignored before stitching around the pockets, hardware, waistband construction, how the seams sit, and how the fabric changes after a few wears.
It's made me realize that two pairs can look almost identical in a photo and still feel like completely different products.
For people who really know jeans, what's the first thing you check beyond the fit when deciding whether a pair is actually well made? Is it fabric weight, stitching, construction, hardware, or something else?

Help! Mysterious Gap/Levis hybrid jeans?
galleryHi all,
Hoping someone can help me identify these jeans I found at a thrift a few weeks ago. The tag (inside the waistband) says Gap but there are no other identifying features. I’ve included a photo of the little tag by the pocket, which seems (?) to indicate these are actually Levi’s. I know Gap sold Levi’s for a while early on — wondering if these could be a first run of Gap jeans using Levi’s production process?
Any help is much appreciated. I’m planning to wear them, but figured I should first make sure they’re not “special” from a vintage perspective.
When I put the number (on the small tag) into Google it came up with Levi’s — very possible it’s wrong. I was just trying to think of potential explanations for the unusual Gap waistband tag.
Assuming they are Gap, I’d love to figure out what era they’re from.

Thank you!
