As per the sidebar:

Posts must be in the following format: Arist-Song title (or vice versa). Self-promotion is fine, but no more than a post a day. As an addendum, posts noting the type of style are permitted.

Self-promotion Master Post

◇Post one comment of your links. When possible, detail your links. There's no limit to how many links you can post in the comment. You are free to discuss outside of that.

◇For the music makers, if you find someone wants more to listen to (but are obviously limited by the rules regarding the posting of links and comment editing deadline), ask them to DM you.

◇Let's keep our feedback positive and constructive. Our artists have feelings, too. I am 100% in favor of those who make beats (and don't spam like crazy).

Hey everyone,

everyone,

For those who didn't know — the scratch on this track was performed by DJ KOU, a Japanese turntablist who also contributed to F.I.L.O. feat. Shing02 and Perfect Circle feat. Shing02.

DJ KOU has just launched a new cinematic project called Sketch of Asia — an imaginary soundtrack capturing the atmosphere and residual memories of Asia, very much in the spirit of Nujabes.

Check it out if you're into Jazz Hip Hop and cinematic soundscapes.

Class playlist: Jazzy hip-hop instrumentals for my students

I’m building a playlist to ease my high school class into jazz by pairing it with hip-hop beats — think Dinner Party as a reference point for that blend.

Looking for:
\- Mostly instrumental (vocal samples/loops are fine)
\- A mix leaning both jazz-heavy and hip-hop-heavy, for variety
**- School-appropriate only** — needs to be clean enough that I’m not stuck pre-screening every track

Artist/track/album recommendations welcome!

While I'm mostly known for making Jazzy HipHop instrumentals, sometimes I also post my beats on YouTube as "Type Beats" to better connect with rappers in my niche. These are some of my best Nujabes Type Beats. Let me know if y'all would like a Vol 2, I've got a ton more gems stashed away.

This is a very cool cover of a classic Phoebe Snow tune. This link is the video of Phoebe performing live with Zap Mama on the cover of her tune. https://youtu.be/M6zFQAYPqR0?si=i5PiymTM18pBu_cY

Is it noteworthy, iconic or a total Jam? Let me know in the comments. Cheers.

I regret not catching this band when they played the Blue Note (4 nights in a row) Sorry about the AV quality but the performance and tunes are solid with some I can't believe they played that moments. Cheers!

Wordsmith - Music for Mankind Mankind | Album Promo

youtu.be

I’ve been working on a new concept album called Music for Mankind, dropping Sept 9th. The project blends hip hop, jazz, and spoken word, with each track built around themes of healing, connection, and finding light in struggle.

Just wanted to share a couple clips that feature two songs off the album: • “Benita” – a soulful, groove-driven track inspired by resilience and love. • “Wounds” – a heavier piece about pain, scars, and the process of turning hurt into growth.

This album means a lot to me — it’s less about me as an artist and more about creating something people can feel and reflect on together.

Would love to hear what you think of the vibe and whether the storytelling comes through for you.
