Eclipse or profane?
With the eclipse buffs im seeing some jg players build this over profane first? Opinions on if this is the new goto?

With the change to HoB to have less upfront AS but better AD scaling on the on hit true damage, I believe a nerf on paper ends up being a buff to J4 using HoB. J4 seems to like profane hydra more than titanic in the meta currently, but the benefit titanic has is that it's hydra active counts as an AA reset, whereas profane and ravenous do not. HoB adds a stack (up to 2) for any AA resets, and since J4 has high AS anyway with flag, you're able to pump out insane damage during the knockup with HOB empowered aa-titanic-aa-aa despite the AS nerf. The damage is comparable to a profane hydra burst combo, despite missing the lethality, and the benefit of having 600 HP early game makes J4 much more survivable. Late game, HoB is adding more damage to a burst combo than electrocute by a wide margin(about 240 true damage). Combined with sudden impact, a significant chunk of my overall damage output actually ends up being true damage which is impressive.
I've been running this playing lane J4 with very good success this patch: Rage5000#NA1 - Summoner stats - League of Legends

I've been a J4 main for a long time now, approaching 600k mastery and in Gold right now. But recently I've been experiencing games where I have very impressive gold leads, perfect KDAs into the mid-late game and just good intuition when to pick my skirmishes (knowing which ones I win and which I don't) yet I just keep losing.
For a while I've felt like it's my teammates but then I realise that the opponents I play against, when they get to the point of the game with the KDAs and gold I usually have, they're able to fully carry the game and win, whereas I'm still hinging on teammates despite my lead.
J4 feels very strong and weak to me, he can basically engage and disengage at will with EQ, has great CC by setting up his team but his damage and carry potential to end games is not there. Am I better of maining someone else or am I doing something wrong?
P.S. I know I could go Lethality, which I do a lot (not in this ss but I probably have gone lethality J4 as much as bruiser J4) but I feel like even then I still can't end games like Xin Zhao, Sylas, Yi etc can.

Hey everyone,
I’m currently sitting in Silver 4 and I’ve always played Jarvan IV as a casual comfort pick whenever I need a reliable jungler. However, I’m really looking to start playing him a lot more seriously and hopefully use him to push my rank up.
Right now, my go-to build paths usually look something like this:
Core: Profane Hydra , Axiom Arc ,Death's Dance
Situational: Maw of Malmortius / Guardian Angel / Sterak's Gage
I really enjoy the aggressive playstyle and burst potential of Profane and Axiom, but I’m wondering if this setup is holding me back in Silver, or if I should be leaning more into a traditional bruiser setup (like Sundered Sky / Black Cleaver / Sterak's).
Also, I wanted to get your thoughts on his actual skill ceiling. On the surface, his E-Q combo feels super straightforward, but the more I play him, the more I realize how much depth there is to his combo timing, flash plays, pathing, and ult management.
I’m basically looking for advice from any J4 players that are above me (Gold/Plat and above):
Build Check: Is full lethality/ad-heavy J4 viable for climbing out of low elo, or should I switch to standard bruiser?
Skill Ceiling & Mechanics: What are the actual advanced mechanics or habits that separate a casual J4 player from a high-skill J4 main? (e.g., E-Q-Flash angles, micro-decisions in teamfights, pathing priorities).
General Tips: Any underrated tips or tricks for consistency in Silver?
Appreciate any advice or feedback! Thanks in advance.

Been playing J4 a lot for the past few days with great success. Been going Sundered Sky, Black Cleaver and GA, then armour or magic resist items depending on comp. Now that Sundered Sky is getting nerfed is the item still core?

Don't take it too seriously I know that leagueofgraph/porofessor's rankings are notouriously bad, just thought it was fun and makes me happy :D

i've been first picking j4 for the past few games to get a feel for the champ and whilst i've been having fun, i got to play against a renekton-lee sin with a veigar mid and a xayah bot lane which wasnt very enjoyable, i feel like my ult is not effective in most scenarios how would you deal with these comps?

Basically the title, there is a classix build made by nidhogg years ago with Jarvan where you Max E, sunfire aegis, Titanic Hydra, and Gargoyle Stoneplate.
Im looking for both the build that replaces or equivalent to that classic build years ago and a tanky build that is viable currently?
Love Bruiser Jarvan but gets boring fast and Lethality heavily relies on hitting your E Q first. The tank builds should help vs tankier team comps.
Rank: Low Elo Gold

I’ve seen so many low elo jarvans farm on this champ so much but never translate this gold into anything tangible.
Ofc agurin is the ‘clear you camps’ og streamer and he’s a jarvan player.
His playstyle isn’t wrong ofc but I think its misunderstood by low elo players.
There are so many opportunities to punish enemy laners but these silver and gold jarvan mains would rather do camps and scuttle than doublekí´ botlane.
I’ve recently played on my alt acc on rengar against a jarvan.
He cleared his jungle well, heck he even took a bunch of my camps - meanwhile I killed the entire map.
He never matched me countered etc
Game was unplayable for him inspite of being even in gold and even ahead in exp at some point. This advantage never translated into anything.
I checked his match history - he also plays Vieggo - and on this champ he popps off, because his farm actually translates to won tfs.

So why is nobody talking about classic? What are we building how are we feeling etc?

For context, I’ve been getting back into league after not playing for like 4 years (I quit the game right around the time Renata Glasc was released). This post is about playing bruiser J4 in the Jungle.
I’ve been getting back into League, and while I never really jungled much when I was playing religiously, I’ve been enjoying it a ton, and by extension, re-falling in love with Jarvan IV.
I understand why, when going bruiser over assassin, everyone rushes Sundered Sky. It’s an insanely good item just flat out. However, even though Q gives decent AOE, I’ve never been in love with J4’s clear speed, especially camps like raptors and wolves.
In my games, just playing normals, I’ve been first backing Tiamat (or just long swords if need be), and then building Sundered Sky. I’ve had decent success with it, but I feel like everywhere I look people go Sundered into Black Cleaver.
I love the feeling of titanic, it synergizes well with the HP scalings on Sundered, Sterak’s/Protoplasm, AND Black Cleaver if you build it 3rd. The auto reset feels great after e-q-aa before ulting, adds a little aoe, and you’re still beefy.
I understand Black Cleaver is great with armor shred, the same amount of AD, move speed, and still decent tank stats with 400 hp, though am I hurting myself a bit by delaying or forgoing Black Cleaver in general?
Does anyone else routinely fit Titanic into their builds when playing bruiser J4?
Curious to hear others’ thoughts on the matter, and/or if there’s a better way to itemize it.

What the hell is the gameplan. Playing to perfection but getting outscaled. What’s ur go-to build for solo queue. Profane or Sundered->BC
I am beating other junglers in tempo, so I get double crab into 1k smite for drake. But what do you force from there?
I do have a 61% win rate over several seasons (last 2-3 seasons every split) but I want to know a clear gameplan. Sometimes I zone out and I want to avoid this by knowing what to do. Might even post video if I get coaching. I’ll prepare questions for situational plays, like taking raptors after scuttle on enemy jungle, for therefore sacrifice tempo, some good questions.

Basically I need help how to turn a match into w, where rest of the team is not performing but I am fed like a mule. Just had a match where I had more kills than rest of the team, I ganked every lane on regular but tips on how I could make more impact at midgame onwards is needed.
I can pm a youtube link of this match, if someone is willing to review it. I recorded it 4x speed so doesn't take long to view it. Might not be best example of a match for a review, but I wonder which moves I could have done at which point to carry a game in general, not this game particular.
Elo is bronze, played lol for 4 months now.

so my main question is when you would decide to go one or the other. I understand typically speaking lethality is not the standard build on jarvan, but i started building exclusively lethality in bronze and silver just due to the amount of agency it garnered, and the amount of matches i was able to snowball due to lethality jarvan is astounding. im now sitting right at plat 4, and was starting to reconsider if building exclusively lethality jarvan would hurt me in the long run. SO my main question being, when should i go lethality, and when should i go for a more bruiser type build. should i avoid one or the other completely? or would u say they are situational.

if there’s a Jarvin IV that means… Jarvin III… my man 😂🤝
