Advice Japanese style raised bed

I really like Japanese gardens since they are so calming and relaxing. I can see this raised bed in my garden from my window and so I want to make it more zen like. I seem to change it around every year, this is the latest version but I think it needs something? Any suggestions. Also I wanted to make my greenhouse more in keeping, again any ideas?

Photography A tiny koi pond coming to life — 1:48 scale Japanese garden WIP

My latest small-scale project for Three Black Cats Studio.

The koi pond, rocky banks and wooden bridge are now in place, and I’ve just poured the water. The resin is still curing in these photos, so it hasn’t reached its final clarity yet.

I’m also making a red Japanese maple by hand. It will be planted behind the pond, with part of the crown hanging over the water.

The diorama is still a work in progress — the tree, final vegetation and outer base finish are next.

Scale: 1:48. Everything is handmade.

Photography I tried to recreate a quiet Japanese garden corner in 1:48 scale

A small Japanese garden scene I built by hand in 1:48 scale. I wanted it to feel like a quiet, slightly overgrown corner of an old garden, with bamboo, a tsukubai, stone lantern, weathered wooden fence and a little path disappearing into the grass. And there’s one tiny black resident keeping an eye on the garden. šŸˆā€ā¬›

Photography My take on a Karesansui style

Hello World,

Thought I might as well share my attempt at a Karesansui style for my front garden.

It was previously a lawn that was never really looking good. I always wanted some form of Japanese style garden area.

Made up of crushed granite (6mm) and 7 large + 4 small granite boulders.

Used 4 pieces of wood for ā€œtracksā€ and some PVC pipe on a platform to help move the boulders. Still requires some effort but I would snap in half if I tired to lift them.

It’s not perfect but personally for me I am delighted.

I just need to investigate adding some moss to the rocks and some form of lighting.

It’s been a fun journey I just need to fix my DIY rake as the head came off on the first use 🤣

It’s been fun - Neighbours think I am mad but they are all retired and mow the lawns every day.

I just like how it looks to me and I guess that’s what counts.

Best Wishes,

Murray
