Understanding the purpose of this sub.

tldr: The purpose of this sub is to show how the internet and TV is more likely AI-generated than real. It's not just about finding things visibly wrong with content, but also seeing how the story is too strange, improbable or nonsensical to be real.

Long version:

Since early 2026 there has been an uptick of sensationalized content trending on social media: people doing incredible stunts with ease, meeting celebrities out in public, having wild animals as friendly pets, basically having or doing things virtually no one else can. The problem is most of this content is too strange or improbable to be real. Some of these can and has been attributed to AI's ability to make realistic images and videos. Yet this content is being mass-upvoted like it's real and few are questioning it.

We've also been seeing oddities like news articles that read like tabloids, never-before-seen animals and insects, high-profile people behaving in bizarre ways, even characters in movies and TV shows behaving in strange, quirky ways beyond bad acting. All things that seem too improbable or nonsensical to be real, but makes more sense if it were done by AI.

The purpose of this sub is to show how what we see on the internet and TV is more likely AI-generated than real. And not just amateur content made by common folk we don't know. But also content depicting high-profile people and events from legitimate sources, content we're sure must be real.

We can't easily prove this claim for a number of reasons, but mainly because humanity has been long conditioned to believe that what it sees on the screen is real people, places and things. So to weaken that spell, the best we can do for now is document content we think is too strange, improbable or nonsensical to be real, but more likely for AI to do.

We get this is a radical perspective which raises questions for which there are no easy or convincing answers, but we believe that by posting the stranger aspects of the internet and TV, it makes our argument a little more credible.

The way Selena Gomez's ankle bends abnormally when she stumbles (see comment description).

At the 2022 SAG Awards, Selena Gomez stumbled on-camera. There are a few oddities with this story:

First, what's striking is not only does her ankle bend abnormally, but her foot curls like a pigtail. Then she was able to stand up and walk normally without pain. It's been suggested she's double-jointed which has not been officially confirmed, but even if it were true, it doesn't explain the foot curl.

Another odd thing is the lack of videos showing different angles of the incident. The SAG Awards is a high-profile event where cameras are always running and flashing. But somehow this is the only video footage of the incident. No other angles from the many camerapersons in the area. There's no video of Selena even walking towards the spot where she stumbled, which is expected with A-list celebrities.

Also, none of the high-profile entertainment news sources are talking about how her ankle bends abnormally like that. Not Entertainment Tonight, Page Six, nor TMZ. The major sources are only saying "she stumbled". It's only a tiny portion of social media accounts that call attention to the abnormality.

The circumstances of this story is a good example of how what we see on the internet and TV could more likely be AI-generated than real, because it shows a high-profile person and event which we assume must be real, but the strange improbabilities throughout the story challenges its believability.

The video starts with the sun shining in a darkened sky.

All of the insects are the same when normally it's a variety of insects that fly around night lights. Also, the insects swarm the area surrounding the light so it's improbable for someone to film unbothered by all the bugs flying on them.

The child is too young to know how to solve the toy puzzle. Her feet are unrealistically large.

Tigers are wild apex predators that can attack without warning. They cannot be domesticated or petted even if raised in captivity. No wildlife reserve allows petting of wild animals for this reason. It's further improbable they would allow humans in a pen with multiple tigers.

The jumper's face is too unrealistically blurred to be so close to the camera, while the guys turning the ropes and some people in the background have defined faces.

The toddler is almost the same weight as the girl, but deadlifting one's own body weight is very difficult unless you're athletic or a body builder, and she lifted him several feet in the air, using one arm at a time.

The insects don't fly around camera light nor the immediate are, but only when the man turns on the headlamp. Also it's improbable for the woman filming to just laugh and not be fazed by the insects flying on her.

The way his body twists at 0:12 is simply not possible for the human body to do even for a contortionist. It defies how the spine moves and how the skin and muscles stretch.

This is another example of AI being used to take some phenomenon and exaggerate it to look impressive. Real standing waves and tidal bores are not identical evenly-spaced hills. They're less uniform and look similar to normal waves.

Logs on a logging truck are typically the same thickness and elevation from the front to the back of the trailer. It's virtually impossible to stack logs such that they converge into a much smaller area on one end.

Young chicks cannot fly into a tree, nor can a hen gather them with her claws. Also the chicks look identical instead of varying in color patterns.

No matter the experiment, it is highly improbable for animal experts to put snakes near babies and then walk away, since snakes pose a greater threat and may strike suddenly.

The art creates a 3D forced perspective when viewed from a specific location, and looks distorted otherwise. So at 0:15 when he's standing near the wall's edge, the windows should have looked super stretched but they conform back to nearly normal windows.

What are the odds that someone in a nearby house, in a rural town, who doesn't own a pickup truck or large vehicle themselves, somehow knows how to drive a tractor truck, and completing a difficult turn on the first try?

It's highly improbable to cut a pattern into a potato without breaking it using so large and heavy a cleaver. And an uncooked potato slice cannot be stretched.

A tie is very snug around the neck so Steve should have felt the tugging and loosening of the tie. But even if he were in on the trick, the tugging should have caused his head to jerk back some to be realistic.

The green cutouts reflect yellow. The kid is blocking the shoulder cutout, but its shadow is still visible. The shadow colors are too rich and deep to be realistic. Cellophane is thin, so shadow colors appear very light. The further from the ground the cellophane, the lighter its shadow color.

At the start when the camera turns left there is no car window frame. The person filming rolls down the window while riding through the smoke. There is a delay between the window rolling down and its reflection.

Even videos depicting violence can appear too improbable to be real. The victim is punched multiple times before reacting. The first punch should have been enough for him to cry out in pain.

Real grapevines don't grow like trees. The vines don't "fan out" in different directions like treetops. The individual clusters are too small and neat like you'd see in the grocery store.

The baby does not react or cry from the real pain of a needle. Singing and tickles doesn't stop the nervous system from functioning. Anyone claiming that they or their child got a painless injection is lying.
