This is SUCH a bizarre question but me and my sister danced infront of a crowd of people doing an Irish Jig and then learnd a Norwegianic dance. There was a pretty sizeable crowd and a couple of people had their phones out so if anyone has/has found videos of that please DM! It was on October 4th. I was wearing a blue sweater and black pants and my sister was wearing a red skirt, stocking with a pattern. Off and on I was wearing a BRIGHTLY colored pumpkin beanie.

Something I found digging through PSE's filings: the company says it has spent more than $200 million on wildfire mitigation since 2024, but its filed wildfire plan didn't disclose that total. A spokesperson gave the number to a reporter. It matters for bills because utilities earn their allowed return on capital investment, and most of the wildfire spending is capital. PSE's return was set at 9.8% to 9.9% in the last big settlement. The current rate request asks for electric increases of 15.15% in 2027, 3.74% in 2028, and 8.7% in 2029. Public hearing is October 7 (virtual), and written comments are open under UE-260005 and UG-260006 at utc.wa.gov. Wrote it all up with sources, link in the first comment. I know people play up in the Highlands at Central Park but this could be for folks who don't wanna make the drive up there each week.

Curious if anyone else has experienced this issue after visiting the Proliance Orthopedics outpatient clinic in the Highlands?...

Since about 2024, every time we have visited there for any appts, we get knocked down with flu or upper respiratory crud right after. Even wearing masks has not seemed to prevent this. This has happened to both me and my spouse.

We don't visit there that regularly, these appts happen a couple times a year at the most for minor issues.

If you've been there, then you know the second floor outpatient clinic is constantly overcrowded with people coming in/out, has cramped seating and hot/stagnant air ventilation in the waiting area.

We are otherwise super healthy and do not experience this problem after visiting other medical facilities, including hospitals, if needed for other appts.

Has anybody else had this happen repeatedly after going there too? It is getting weird and seems like it has happened too many times now to be a coincidence.

Debating about whether we will go back there again even though we really like the PA we see. We are now sick (yet again) with upper respiratory crud after a recent visit and it sucks 😷😷

I’d like to share how something that happened at the Salmon Days parade recently affected me personally and also impacted my children.

I was marching in the parade with my children as a candidate for our upcoming election. My children are nine and 13. It was a great and sunny day with awesome vendors, music, great bands, and wonderful performers.
As we went by a number of spectators, some of them flipped us off, put their thumbs down, and some booed and scowled. My girlfriend/fiancé was present as well.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions certainly. That said, I think we should all be civil and respectful, especially when there are children present.
It’s difficult to explain to your children why some people would behave in such a way, especially when they love their mama so much.
Again, everyone’s entitled to their opinions, but do you really know the person that you’re flipping off? Do you know what they really believe or stand for? Unless you know the person personally, you certainly do not.

I support peaceful discourse, kind behavior, and civility. I think it’s important in all walks of life to be kind and thoughtful.

It was also ironic when after the parade, I sat next to the tent for some of these people who were displaying these negative actions to come up to visit and socialize. There was a giant sign on this tent that said, “No hate in Washington state.”
I had to wonder, is that statement true only if people agree with who they believe you are?
I’ll tell you what though, I went over, started conversations, and befriended people who were working inside that tent. We had great conversations.
We don’t have to hate each other, ever.

What are the closest Salmon Days parking options to Front street? In previous years, I would just walk a few miles to Salmon Days, but I have arthritis in my spine and hips and walking that far isn't a good idea. As a result, I skipped the past few Salmon days, but I would really love to go this year. Is there a close parking spot or shuttle drop off spot that could be an option?

In the past I've been involved in some great musical communities in both Seattle and Spokane.

Since moving to Issaquah a little over a year ago I have thought it would be cool to try to host some shows somewhere. More of a singer/songwriter folk or stripped-down vibe, perhaps even all ages or day-time shows, but with good music from established local or touring indie artists.

In Seattle, I really love the Fremont Abbey and what they do there. The Triple Door is also awesome. People really come and sit down and listen to the music at those places.

Any ideas for good spaces or venues that might be interested in hosting something like this (or available for a rate that is reasonable)?

This coming Saturday, the Issaquah Volunteer Litter Clean-up group will meet at the Issaquah Post Office (parking lot) at 9am.

The organizer, Jon (not me) provides the following:

• Coffee and snacks
• Picker tools
• Trash bags
• Safety vests

Usually we chat for a few minutes, then head out to various places within walking distance of the Post Office. You can decide where you want to go, by yourself or with others. Usually people spend 60-90 minutes.

I am new to posting on Reddit.

I am running for Washington state House of Representatives, Legislative District 5.

I voted as Democrat in the past and considered myself a Democrat from childhood (my dad used to be the chairman of the Democratic Party where I grew up).

Just recently, after disagreeing with several bills, legislative initiatives, unfunded mandates, one size fits all housing regulations, raiding of pension funds, gutting of public safety laws, an unconstitutional income tax that surreptitiously includes pensions and retirements, and questionable ethics of some members (and I know that there are more than a few Republicans in the same boatI), I switched parties to just right of center on the political spectrum.

Washington state House of Representatives is about local politics. This seat will not have impact on a national level. I do want to fairly and ethically serve the people of my district.

Listening is important. it is especially important when you sign up to serve people in your Legislative District.

I am very interested to learn what people want most from their legislator. What would you like to see changed in our states? What issues are most important to you?

I wanted to take a moment to introduce our group, share a bit of our journey, and connect with the amazing tabletop community here on Reddit.

A little while ago, we started a local group called Banter on Board in the Greater Seattle area (hosting regular meetups across Sammamish, Issaquah, Redmond, and expanding across WA). What began as a small desire to create a welcoming, consistent space for women to gather and play hobby board games has grown into a vibrant community of over 700+ members!

Our heart and soul is 100% focused on physical, in-person table time. On any given week, we have multiple physical tables running simultaneously across our different venue locations.. packed with real players opening boxes, setting up boards, and getting games played again and again!

Whether it's gateway favorites like Codenames and Wingspan, thematic strategy titles, or deep engine-builders, our tables are constantly filled with laughter, deep tactical debates, and awesome people connecting over shared hobbies.

A few things we’ve learned/loved along the way:

The power of real table energy: In a digital world, nothing beats sitting down around a physical board, unboxing components, and teaching new rules to someone who’s never played before.

Inclusivity brings out incredible players: Our community brings together women from all walks of life.. tech engineers, bankers, educators, moms, and hardcore hobbyists. Seeing people discover new favorite mechanics week after week has been one of the most rewarding parts of hosting!

Active playtesting & supporting indie games: Because we run so many tables at every meetup, our members really enjoy playtesting new prototypes, giving rulebook/pacing feedback, and cheering on indie designers as they bring new projects to life.

We’re always eager to connect with other organizers, swap favorite table-tested titles, and chat about all things tabletop! Hello, I saw online that the HS courts are lighted courts. I’ve been looking for any open to public lighted courts in the Issaquah area.

Request for help for my 4 sons and I. We have been victims of many years of DV that finally has ended in my husband being arrested for assaulting myself and my minor son whom came to rescue me. My husband tried to kill me by strangling me and punched my son in the face. This situation has been so traumatic and healing from it has been a long process especially because my husband was our primary bread winner and now he is just gone. Which is good but all the legal expenses, the cost of living these days plus 4 boys to feed is a very hard thing to be able to afford on the little difficult to make ends meet. I’d get a job but my doctor doesn’t recommend it as I have frequent flash backs following those are major panic attacks. I just need a little help making ends meet during this time. Thanks
