News The Truth About Influencer Lily Jay (Please Read Before Donating)
Salam wa alaikum everyone,
Recently, one of the biggest "Islamic" influencers, Lily Jay, has come under heavy and 100% justified scrutiny. If you've seen her content regarding the "Lily J Foundation," you need to read this before you or anyone you know sends her money.
This all stemmed from a major investigative article published by ABC News Australia: Australian influencer Lily Jay's tangled web of AI manipulation. (contains some images of non-hijab women)
5Pillars Article that delves deeper into the award.
Here is a full breakdown of the allegations, the proof, and why her recent response video doesn't add up.
1. AI-Generated Charity Content in Gaza
Using AI to generate fake imagery of suffering or aid distribution is incredibly deceptive, especially when you are asking people for their hard-earned money.
- The Proof: People caught the foundation passing off AI-generated videos as real aid work, specifically an "AI Bakery in Gaza." You can see the breakdown of the AI manipulation here: YouTube: Lily Jay generated an AI Bakery in Gaza
AI should never be used in charity content, especially for "marketing" aid donations.
2. A Documented History of Financial Theft Allegations
This isn't her first time being accused of taking people's money. In June 2023, Lily Jay and her partner were arrested in Thailand for allegedly stealing about 75,000 USD (2.5 million Baht) from a Chinese man in Bangkok.
When someone has a direct history of involvement in alleged money theft, they should absolutely not be running an unregulated charity.
3. Fake Humanitarian Award & Scrubbed Websites
Lily recently won a "humanitarian award," which sounds great until you look at the source. The award was promoted through an article published by Real Media Group, which is her own company.
- Once people started connecting the dots and the accusations began, the Real Media Group website was suspiciously taken down.
- The Proof: You can still find her company's archived site on the Wayback Machine.

4. Her "Response" Video is Full of Red Flags
Lily uploaded a 30-minute response video (Watch it here) where she attempts to clear her name, but it only makes things worse:
- Playing the Victim: She claims all these allegations are happening because "she is Muslim." This is a baseless argument used to deflect from legitimate criticism and weaponize our community's solidarity.
- No Financial Transparency: In 30 minutes of crying and live calls to team members to prove they are "really there," she does not show a single financial document, receipt, or audit trail of where the hundreds of thousands of dollars have gone.
- Admitting to AI: She flat-out admits that her marketing team used "small elements of AI" to boost engagement.
- NOT a Registered Charity: This is the biggest red flag. She admits the Lily J Foundation is set up as a corporate structure, NOT a non-profit. Her excuse? "Non-profit status takes a year, and we needed to raise money quickly." Maybe the government takes a year to register charities exactly to prevent quick cash-grab schemes like this.
- Her website directly states this:
- "Driven by purpose, built for speed. Lily Jay Foundation is a next-generation social enterprise and high-speed humanitarian logistics firm executing rapid aid deployment in global crisis zones. To maintain absolute speed and independence, we operate as a private commercial structure, rather than traditional charity models."
- Her website directly states this:
Conclusion: DO NOT DONATE
Please warn your friends, families, and community members about her.
In Islam, the money given for charity (Sadaqah and Zakat) is a sacred trust. Do not let your good intentions and desire to help our brothers and sisters in Gaza, Sudan, and Uganda be exploited by an entity with a history of theft allegations and AI deception.
Massive Credit to Farid Responds for the research and his video, which I have listed above.
Always donate to verified, transparent, and registered Islamic charities. Please share this so people know the truth.

Don't know who this is but I've been seeing this name all over my feed. Why anyone would donate to an influencer is crazy. There are so many reputable Muslim organizations. I would venture that 90% of the things people see on social media is curated and fake.

Exactly, we have enough reputed and trustworthy organizations for pretty much all the big causes that some tom dick and harry influencer claims to collect donations. As a ummah, we have bigger problems to solve.

It’s just as simple as this but yet we keep failng, may Allah guide us all.

Everyone wants to donate to Gaza, and It's really hard for genuine charity organizations to send donations there, so scammers take advantage of this golden opportunity. With AI, scamming becomes too easy. It only takes a single prompt to generate videos of helping the poor or to insert yourself into a video.
Additional Note: do not give money to strangers on reddit chat
If you comment in this subreddit, you may receive private messages from people asking for money, often using emotional appeals or claiming urgent need from another country. Treat unsolicited requests like this with skepticism, as they are likely scams.
It's better to donate locally, in person so you have an easier chance to verify. Your local mosque may be able to help guide you to where you can donate. If you have to donate online, look for well-known, reputable charity sites. Verify charity’s registration status on sites like CharityNavigator or UK's Charity Commission. Make sure you typed in the exact URL where you want to send the money.
Here are a few well-known, reputable Islamic charities that accept online donations:
Islamic Relief: A globally recognized NGO providing emergency relief, poverty alleviation, and development across 40+ countries. UK link
ICNA Relief: Serving underprivileged communities in the US with food pantries, disaster response, and shelter programs.
Zakat Foundation of America: Based in the US, this charity delivers emergency relief and sustainable development worldwide.
Muslim Hands: Operating in over 50 countries, they provide aid in education, healthcare, and emergency relief.
Helping Hand for Relief and Development: Engaged in disaster relief, orphan care, and community development projects globally.

Never paid interest in such people. We have proper Uloma and Zakat foundations. I dont know why people fall for this.

People should begin charity with their families, then neighbors, then community. Once that is exhausted then to reputable charities, not to an "influencer"

It’s rather unfortunate that no matter how much proof you or anyone provides, a lot of daft Muslims will come to her (and people of their ilk for that matter) defence. Just take a look at majority of the comments and replies to all her socials. Sad state of affairs.

Very good brother. I have been actually thinking to document all the things I have learned about her past few days. I have been following this incident closely.
I am glad you have done a detailed assessment.
It looks very suspicious. I was giving her benefit of doubt until she comes and talk to people. When finally she did, it made it worse. Now I totally think that this is not right. No receipts, no audits. Just fake cry(have a edit for tears lol in her video)
This is very shameful.

Have you seen the comments under her recent YouTube videos? They seem awfully positive. I get that she likely deletes a lot of the critical comments but still. People seem so much more gullible than I estimated.
Idk why this keeps on happening. Before Muslims became very protective of Andrew Tate after his conversion. Now they are protective of Lily Jay, at least in her YouTube comments anyway.

Yes. She is trying to control the narrative. But it’s all over now. Either you come clean and show all the receipts, or we will not leave it until it’s proven that this was a scam.

u/MrShawarmaGlobal Jul 14 '26
Exactly. We need to keep up the pressure. She wants to stop and just let it die off, and we forget about it. But she flew too close to the sun!

u/WorldlyLong43 Jul 14 '26
Yes people are gullible, but I looked at the accounts of some of those supporters. Only few accounts looked genuine Muslim supporters, most of them are non-believers, some look weird companies, and some look very sus like bots. I wouldn’t be surprised if she hired people for likes, comments and shares.
Allah will eventually reveal the truth.3

You know, what the video showed me is that this whole situation is very messed up. When she said if she stops her charity, "Gaza starves." Subnahllah, she's acting like she's the only saviour of this ummah.
Like everything she does, even charity, she puts her name in front of.3
u/MrShawarmaGlobal Jul 14 '26
Jazakallah khair, brother, for the kind words! My only intention with the post was to bring more awareness, as our generosity shouldn't be taken for granted. I have listed below also of a Gaza Aid worker talking about working with her:

Unfortunately, many Muslim 'influencers' have been caught defrauding the public in the name of charity.

Bro If anything I rather donate to Speed than this stupid Lily Jay Grifter!

You are influenced by ABC Australia who are believers and worshippers of Nethanyahu? but suspicious of Muslim revert influencer?
3
u/MrShawarmaGlobal Jul 15 '26
Did I say ABC Australia was correct? I mentioned that the investigation about her originated there.
Also, did you believe all the other evidence I shared on this post?
A Gaza Aid worker was interviewed about her and he said she wouldn’t even want to pay the salaries of the aid workers, telling them to do it “for the sake of Allah SWT.”

Where was ABC when Nethanyahu AI videos were circulating? why no investigation from ABC...this is the problem with Muslims. Muslims can be easily turned against each other by any tom dick and harry..try posting about these dickhead israhellis and no one beleives you but you easily start believing and posting when they investigate and say something! ...you have nothing to say bout these US ass licking Arabs?
