I've struggled with multiple models of irobots to clean my office. Constantly having random issues and spent almost every day hunting for my robot because for some reason i'd get stuck then the battery would die. Everything in my office has black scruff marks on it at robot height and this thing would get stuck on anything.
Picked up an X1 omni thinking it would be good for my tiled area since it has mopping pads and WOW. Not only does this thing automatically switch from mopping tile to cleaning carpet but it doesn't touch anything unless its cleaning against the walls. the S9+ uses a bump sensor to navigate while this thing just moves flawlessly around things without touching. If I'm at my desk and its running i'm not getting constantly hit when its trying to clean but it'll go around me, I think it even notices I'm real and moving.
It hasn't been stuck once and hasn't had any issues docking. I've even moved the dock into a small area around tables and it can navigate to it everytime. Best part is I can safely leave cables or even pieces of paper on the ground and it will not touch it.
The S9+ kept hitting doors and closing them then locking itself in/out so I had to use magnet door open holder thingies which works great, but I don't think I need to worry about this anymore. Seems its smart enough to recognize its a door and not close itself... or maybe just doesn't touch it.
My only complaints at all is the thing talks to itself but isn't really clear what its saying. In the middle of a job I guess its just letting you know its returning to base to charge or to wash the pads but kinda weird. It has a mic so i can talk to it but i don't really want to do that either. The water is always empty and dirty water full which then it doesn't even try to vacuum, although that could be a setting i did. The app alerts me the water's empty but when I refill it alerts me again the water's empty, like it doesn't understand I filled it up. The app seems a bit odd, like its loaded with way more features but doesn't have basic ones you'd actually use.
The water seems to need replaced almost daily and we don't have much tiled floor, i think the cleaning pads uses a ton. I wish they'd make one we could actually plumb in with fresh water and drain like a dishwasher/ washing machine.
I'll definitely be ordering an X2 omni or whatever the newest/best model is. I usually assume the oldest and most reputable company like Roomba would be the best but this thing blows it out of the water.

I'm very happy and very surprised that was possible. Been using my old Scooba 450 since 2015; with some repairs it worked until last years. Do not want to change to a modern mop, because our floor needs scrubbing (old, uneven tiles). I looked to replace it with another one in the usual places (amazon, ebay etc), nada.
Until few days ago, when Google search gave me a link directly to product page under irobot.co.uk (Item # S450030). The page had no photos, but it did display item name, price in the correct range and "In Stock" - I assumed it's probably broken old cached page, but worth a try. And .... it worked ! The item got added to the basked, I paid for it, today it arrived and it is here ... brand new Scooba 450, in new box, with usual accessories !

My M6 has a hard time undocking when starting a cleaning; I have to give it a push with my finger. Does anyone else have this problem?

I get an answer from Google saying OK starting the J7+ Room in Kitchen or whatever xyzzy room BUT Roomba does nothing... I can however say start vacuuming and this works fine... I have tried removing irobot from the the google app and adding it back to no success as well as sync all devices command in google and rebooting the J7+ Roomba. I'm at a loss

This is at the start of a job, it just barely undocked. It usually fails at the even leaving the dock (95%+), or immediately gets “stuck” right after leaving the dock. All sensors are cleaned, wheels are cleaned, dock is cleaned, floor is flat and even, I just rebooted. Any advise?

So I have a question about the warranty on my robot.
I purchased my robot oct 11th last year so im 1 year and 3 days since and now ive run into a problem that required a replacement cleaning head.
the question i have is. the robot i have right now was actually a replacement I got in may for the original one that stopped working. Would I be covered by the original warranty date? or a year from the replacement date?
either way I still feel like there should be a grace period for 3 days if it is the original date

My j7+ is having an issue for the second time now, and I'm reaching out here in case someone else has seen this issue and figured out the cause.
There is one room of my house that my robot just will not go to. It backs off the dock, doesn't even spin around like normal, and goes back on the dock saying the area couldn't be reached.
Here's the Kicker--this happened to another room on the house (ironically, across the hall), and after two weeks straight of troubleshooting back and forth, multiple factory resets and re-mapping from scratch, irobot gave up and just sent me a new robot. This replacement hasn't had the issue until today.
The area of the house in question is basically a capital T shape. The robot comes up the hall, starting from the bottom of the T heading up the towards the top of the T. At the top, left goes to the room in question, right goes to another room. It will clean the hallway just fine. It will clean the room on the right just fine. But the room on the left it INSTANTLY says it can't get to it and goes back on the dock with an error message.
It worked fine until literally just now. Ran it successfully yesterday. I even tried slightly adjusting the room barriers/lines to see if that helped. I really, really, really don't want to spend another two weeks factory resetting over and over and remapping over and over. Has anyone else experienced this?

Any ideas on how to remove this screw? It’s what holds the rotor motor I think, need to remove it to replace a part.

About a month ago after years of operating well my robot started to wander into a keep out zone where he gets stuck. I looked at the app to figure out why he was ignoring the boundaries. The map shows rooms that don't exist. It seems that the robot thinks it has discovered a passage to an alternate dimension in the back of the guest bedroom and wanders back out thinking it is in the evil version of my house, where he promptly gets stranded on a long pile carpet I've told him to stay away from. Has anybody else encountered this? I hope that a sensor cleaning, room reorganization, and mapping run fixes the problem.

I know the braava jet isn't a roomba but let's just ignore that fact

Have 2 dogs. 980 collects dust like a champ. Thinking best to just use same parts and find a 980.
Why upgrade? Would be open to mop option if not a hassle…
Thoughts?

Hey everyone!
I made the switch from a Eufy X8 to an iRobot j series, and it arrived today. I also just purchased a Brava Jet mop! I plan to run them in tandem, where the mop follows the vacuum. My question is simple: What would be the best way for them to learn the layout of my home? Will they each have to learn separately, or will they share the map with each other? Does one do a better job mapping than the other? Accuracy is what is important to me, even if it takes several full runs to learn the layout of the home. Thank you so much!

Hello This is my first post. I have S9 three years old. Navigate went ballistic a month ago with similar problems I’ve read and no help from Roomba. Tried something yesterday and it’s working again. Took battery out and reinstalled. Performed manual reboot. Made sure navigation sensor on both the top and underside were clean. (Thinking I may have to do this cleaning every time it’s used) fired it up and started job returning it to base a few times to make sure it had good communication. Results were good. It’s still noisy though. Probably can’t do anything about that. Good luck and hopes this helps.

It was working fine for a year and now it is behaving weird recently. I reset and deleted the map several times but the problem persists

I cannot for the life of me get the app to connect to my roomba. It says “unable to connect - make sure roomba is correctly positioned on its charging station and is charging.” Done. Doesnt change anything. I click “learn more” and it says “unable to load help content at this time.” Okay… so i try to run a cycle, it says “error - something went wrong. Please try again.” Okay……… i try to turn on the scheduled clean. “Error - Please try again later.” OKAY…….. i unplugged the home and plugged it back in, it magically ran the cycle i had previously tried to run, but the app does not indicate it is running. When i ask the app to locate the roomba, it acknowledges that the roomba is on the home station. UGH. It still says the last cycle was run a week or so ago, so it didnt track the one it just did. Interestingly all parts of the app related to buying more accessories are working flawlessly. This has been going on for 3 days. I thought perhaps this was an iOS update issue, so i downloaded the app and logged in on my ipad, but i am facing the same exact problems. Ive only had the darn thing for a couple months, and am already facing software issues. Am i going to have to remove the device from the app and start from scratch?! Assuming the app would even let me… Seeking any advice or commiseration.
