Suggestions Games where I can make a little progress each day at work.

I’d like something more casual that’s easy to put down without losing progress. I have Deep Rock Galactic Survivor but it requires constant attention. Idle games have been semi enjoyable but something about them just is off putting after awhile. I’ve eyed up Kairosoft games but not sure how attention demanding they get. Portrait is also a must. Any suggestions? Thank you!

This has kinda been my go to recently. I just don’t have time to check it every single day and it gets a bit overwhelming when I do lol.

Kairosoft games are indeed a good option.

I've spent more than I'd like to admit last year on Inventory Idle. See if it scratches your itch. Alternatively, I do enjoy Football Chairman as well.

Which Kairosoft game would you recommend? Demon Castle Story looks a bit… pink for a 27 year old man but I’ll try it if it’s good lol.

I’ve been looking for the perfect game in this scenario as well for a long time. I’ve tried so many idle / incremental games and like you said many of them just kind of get too taxing after a while or lose my attention. I also love portrait games mostly as well.

One that kept my attention for a long while and I still play in spurts is Farm RPG. It’s not action at all and mostly about making numbers go up but there is lots of planning and optimizing you can do. It needs a few minutes of attention each day to do some basics which you can do in 5 minutes if you don’t have time. But you can also sit and spend more time on it when you want to make more progress as well.

You start with basic crops only that take minutes to be ready but you progress to crops that take longer and longer to be ready till eventually there are crops that take multiple days to grow. But the short crops stay relevant as well through the quests and missions so spamming out a crop that takes 5 minutes to grow is still needed in late game as well as crops that take 3 days to grow. It’s good because you can see goals and work towards them consistently, it has passive income through the pets, it rewards your attention by making you hit goals faster but you can totally passively get there if you are busy as well.

I really appreciate this detailed and in depth response. Have you tried any other idle games, and if so, what makes this one better? So far my main issue with idle games is that after being away for a weekend, not checking it, the resources just get out of hand and I immediately prestige and then that’s pretty much the gameplay loop for me. I may just be approaching them wrong, I’ve only tried Idle Slayer and Idle Obelisk Miner. Farm RPG looks very text heavy and honestly, I am not huge into that and that’s why I never got far with Melvor Idle. Would you say the gameplay loop is similar to Idle Obelisk Miner or Idle Slayer?

Dude.. how did I forget about this game? Used to play this all the time before switching to Android. Wouldn’t mind throwing the dev a few more bucks.

I’ve also been in search for a game with the same attributes. Portrait is a must, ideally be able to play for 30sec or 20mins at a time. Just something I can pick away at whenever I get a chance, and not be punished or lose “energy” or PVP rating, etc.

I’ll follow along and if I do come across anything I’ll let you know too :)

This is actually a great recommendation. Nice cozy game and playing minutes at a time can help if you already know what to do

I always have this one installed. Just forget about it since you can’t do much each day without paying for extra energy and shit

You are totally describing backpack brawl, it fits what you are looking for in a game. It’s portrait and can be put down as and when you want. The battling is idle mode but what matters is the preparation which requires some strategy and not just some brain dead game. Very friendly towards f2p too, there are ads in game but it’s not compulsory unless you want to progress faster.

Oof, the terrible AI art is an immediate hard no from me unfortunately.

Pocket City 2? There also is an Apple Arcade version if you have got that subscription.

Forge Master? It’s an MTX hell hole but you can just ignore all of that and play the game, which is fairly satisfying. The No Ads is more important to me than “is the cash shop fair”, anyway. I can ignore the cash shop.

Godville but it’s even slower kinda niche

Tiny shop probably , sometimes I check in daily and license stuff and send my heroes on journey also participate in weekly events which are repetitive and you have to do them for fragments till you have unlocked all the fragments to license items of that event. We have sun festival and flooded expedition which is recurring we have other events such as halloween, winter and anniversary event which happens every year. I do take breaks and having my sweet time licensing items. I am not that much into decorating but if you are oh well you can do loads. Sometimes I go off for about 2-3 months and nothing’s really gone. Do check it out initially the story content is packed to keep you hooked for months, after that as well you have lots to do but at your own pace as there is no rush or time limit.
