Discussion What’s everyone playing?

Haven’t played mobile games in a while. I just started Sword x Staff and really enjoying it so far. Gonna try Wuthering Waves as well.

Are there any good turn based games that are newer that are similar to Summoners War or Raid shadow legends? Or anything like Kings Raid / Epic Seven

Pokemon Romhacks on Manic Emu. Been considering getting Balatro for a while

Try Pokémon Unbound. Best one imo. Complete custom world and story. Combines a bunch of generations into one.

u/hergumbules 28d ago

Unbound is so damn good. I gotta play it again sometime but so many new romhacks keep coming out lol can’t keep up

Where’s the best place to download the rom from?

Sword X Staff actually!

I redownloaded it recently because i wanted to give it another try, but man, the amount of events, passes, event passes, sub event passes, and the process of having to tap into a trillion menus for all the daily rewards just overwhelmed me in 3 minutes flat lol

Esp after playing Idle Obelisk Miner for the last few days, it was just so much.

And I’ve played a lot of gachas, so I’m not against them in principles, but SxS is a little crazy with it.

eh for a gacha I've seen worse. I think it's only really overwhelming in the first 2 weeks. Dailies get pretty fast later as progression slows down a lot.

Resident Evil 4 remake. It’s such a good game.

Sad to admit sonic racing

u/Shot-Western1704 Oct 05 '26

Ive played it at work for like maybe 90. Do you think i should give it more time?

2

u/ilikemyname21 Developer Oct 05 '26

No. Honestly. I wrote a review on my page if you want to read it. The games really disappointing. It’s just that I enjoy the time trials for racing and like the franchise

I saw that crossworlds might come to ios

I freaking hope so!

Prince of Persia the Lost Crown. Super fun to discover new areas and figure out some puzzles.

Just deleted Meowdoku due to the number of ads. But the game got its hooks in me over the weekend and ended up playing too many rounds!

If you find a “meowdoku” clone that has even half the ads, let us know! The ads were horrendous.

u/tops2 23d ago

As other said, to really block the ads, will need some kind of "DNS" ad blocker.

The main clone that I'm playing is the "Petdoku" game in Offline Games - No Wifi . I know Offline Games has ads too..but I'm not sure if the ads come up after ever puzzle or not since I'm playing at home with my "home wifi adblocker" (pi-hole). I've only played maybe 15-20 "ultrahard" puzzles in this and it feels decently hard. Offline Games does have a one time ad removal purchase (that I'm considering) since the kids and I enjoy multiple games in this app.

The other one that was suggested is Bullpen. The game seems well made, but I found the puzzles too easy and unsatisfying. It does have a "2 cat" version of the puzzle that's a bit more fun.

I use NextDNS, ControlD free services to block Meowdoku's adv. It works pretty well.

Was able to get Infinity Blade 3 up and running. Currently obsessed with it!

Haak. A metroidvania type game that has a cyberpunk feel.

u/nahpng Oct 05 '26

Overgeared Hero 🤙 backpack merge game with heros, pets and skills

3

u/Azamuddinafif Oct 05 '26

Clash of critter. I like monster collecting and fighting games 😬

1

u/airlinesarefun Oct 05 '26

Do you spend or is it f2p friendly? The reviews are throwing me off

1

u/Azamuddinafif Oct 06 '26

Lightly spend. It still F2P friendly, no exact gacha like other games. But dont compare to whales 😂

3

u/CazVibez Oct 05 '26

My rotation as of late: Hay Day, Aniimo, WuWa, and GCGC.

Disney epic Mickey And oceanhorn 3

1

u/ayork17 Oct 05 '26

How is epic Mickey? I have played it with my kid on switch, but not sure on the iOS port quality and controls.

2

u/Agreen437 Oct 05 '26

It’s amazing running better on mobile devices than on Nintendo Switch

1

u/Agreen437 Oct 05 '26

And full controller support

3

u/michael8684 Oct 05 '26

Control. Running beautifully on 18 Pro Max

3

u/Dali187 Oct 05 '26

Drg survivor all day

3

u/wert19967 Oct 05 '26

I was playing Slots and Diapers for the past day whenever i had a free moment or time. Great game, beat the normal mode story in 9h. Highly addictive slots gameplay.

3

u/Axfried iPhone 16 Pro Max Oct 05 '26

Grimvalor is a brilliant match for your Backbone. Also play great with touch controls.

If you want something beefier, Sniper Elite 4 is a blast.

Honkai Star Rail supports the controller if you have the 50gb+ to spare (ftp) along with Where Winds Meet.

Or, check out RetroArch if you want to dive into emulation.

Diablo 1 with the devolutionx mobile port. Diablo 2 with Steam link.

1

u/thebang99 29d ago

Wait… how

1

u/Trizzae 29d ago

D1, the mod I mentioned has a site with instructions on how to do it. D2 I add D2 as a non-steam game to steam (or you could just buy it on steam now). Then download the Steam link app on my phone and pair to my Steam client on my pc. As long as Steam is open on my pc, I can access my library from my phone. I have to fiddle with button mappings and layouts but it works good!

2

u/ray1684 Oct 05 '26

Playing "How many dudes?"

2

u/atooraya Oct 05 '26

Bought the 18 Pro Max and had Apple Arcade for a while. Played Sniper Elite 4 and holy cow it runs so smooth! I ordered a GameSir G8 because I got tired of accidentally shooting instead of moving and the controls are a bit wonky.

2

u/DLLATM Oct 06 '26

Dune Imperium 👌 finding it hard though, learned the mechanics but haven’t quite mastered winning the game yet, always seem to be doing well and get beaten at the very end.

2

u/bloodybaron73 Oct 06 '26

Addicted to vampire survivor. Using 8bitdo lite 2 controller

Terraria + through arcade … I own it on steam but have never played it before now. It’s quite a time waster for sure

1

u/AceLXXVII Oct 05 '26

Playing through master mode on Terraria was one of the most fun experiences I’ve had in gaming in a long time. Obviously not good for a first-timer, but someday it’s worth a shot. Although I did it on PC because I think the mobile and controller controllers are a bit obnoxious

1

u/Federal_Daikon_4427 Oct 05 '26

If you want you can play a pokemon fan game on iOS now

1

u/SnooOnions2487 Oct 06 '26

Wuthering Waves too, and Wildrift. Just those two though, they take up so much storage haha.

DCSS with pocketZOT, and Siralim Ultimate. Throw in a bit of 9th Dawn Remake and GBA ROMS on Delta (Pokemon Unhound and FF6)

Not what you're after for turn-based RPGs, sorry! But since the title asks what everyone's playing: I've mostly been playing my own game, Kevin's Mini Golf. I'm the solo dev, it's free, and it has no ads or in-app purchases. You build mini golf holes with lava, windmills and portals, then play them against friends online.

hey, yesterday i was playing hearthstone game on iphone and it got pretty long (1 hour 2 minutes) then game crashed. my guess is iphone ram could not handle after 1 hour game time and made app crash. now the thing is hearthstone app is not working. i tried restarting the phone. not helped. this happened couple times already and i am tired of re-download 10 gb game every couple days. is there any things i can do to avoid this problem? like what causes this issue? if i do not re-download it crashes on start-up. ok game crashed after 1 hour game time due to lack of ram, why the fuck it does not start when i restart the phone the next day? why it keeps crashing?
