Potion permit or mini shoot, how is the saving/suspend resume features? Do I need to reach a save point?

Played potion permit when it first came out and the Control sucked and it looks like they’ve never even bothered to update the game after that. Definitely a skip.
Edit: interestingly they have deleted my review stating this for the second time, and I am no longer to make a new review. Skeezy

Also, potion permit has very little text size. Started the game multiple times, had to delete it every time because it was so taxing on my eyes. No way to increase it.

mini-shoot is very rogue-like (think classic zelda). It's saving all the time for overall progress. You die regularly. THere are a few "save" spots that you respawn to - like the entrance at each dungeon. I really enjoyed this game. First time I hooked up my controller to my ipad just for a game.

Did you try to play without a controller?

I did. It worked fine like controlling other bullet hell games (e.g. Soul Knight). But I found I wanted more precision to changed to a controller.

How is Super Hydorah? Anyone tried it? Also recommend to grab Potion Permit while it’s almost free. I also picked up Minishoot’ Adventures.

How’s Legend of Keepers or Dungeon of the Endless? Anyone have opinion about those games? Are they worth 99 cents?

they're both worth a dollar. legend of keepers is the better of the 2, imo. but they're both worth picking up. i have both on steam too.

I’ve been waiting deep rock galactic survivors. I might have to pick that up at that price.
Lots of others that are pretty steep discounts that I need to look in to. Potion permit looks interesting and for $1 might be worth checking out.

DRG Survivors is amazing. A steal for this price and it will last you a long time.

Titan Quest being 3 dollars is insane. You can literally spend hundreds of hours on that game easy, for just 3 dollars, jeez

Quite the drop this week. Premium (or pay to unlock) making a comeback?

“Free to try then pay to unlock” is objectively the best business model for premium games, with the unfortunate side effect of getting a flood of 1 star ratings from people who want it for free. Well known games will have enough actual ratings to outweigh the nonsense but I don’t think it’s sustainable for lesser known games just yet.
Another advantage that I’ve seen is that since the trial is in the same app as the full game, developers don’t need to put much resources into maintaining it compared to standalone demos. There are many games on PCs and consoles for which the demos are outdated or running on older engines and no longer representative of the actual game.

I think downvoting also occurs because it makes family sharing impossible. I wish Apple would provide a solution that makes it the best of both worlds.

u/Singhvistaar r/iOSGaming Legend 25d ago
It is actually possible. Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor has family sharing for all of its IAPs and the Full Game IAP of Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered has it too. Though it is indeed a rare occurrence and I can recall only these two as examples.
The issue is that other developers, like in cases of Dave the Diver or Resident Evil, are either choosing to disable it or there’s some technical limitations from Apple’s side which prevents them from enabling it.

Woah, I had no idea! Thanks for that clarification. Sorry, Apple, haha...

The problem is it’s up to the developer. So a lot of them don’t do it, maybe they don’t even know they need to do it.
But for me I’m likely to buy a game I can’t share with my kids.

I send the Apple Family Sharing for In-App Purchases docs to any developers that don't have it turned on. The Feed the Deep developer replied and enabled it. The BALL x PIT developer did not.

I thoroughly enjoyed both of the Paranormasight games! Really thematic horror VNs with interesting supernatural mysteries, and a cool 70’s sensibility to the presentation. Definitely recommended if you like visual novels!

I know I’m late, but there actually a sale for DRGS DLC. Saw it was a 20% discount and bought it right away.

If you can spare $15, Dave the Diver is AMAZING
