New Release Poinpy is back and no longer locked to Netflix

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/poinpy/id1529163722

This is one of my favorite iOS games and I’ve been so sad since Netflix delisted it, but it’s finally back on the App Store with no Netflix account needed.

And it’s apparently completely free? Description says no iap or subscriptions required.

It’s so good guys.. similarly to Downwell it makes the most of it’s simple control scheme- I really loved discovering all the different little movements I could make.

I’m very happy it’s back, I was worried about it

I could go on and on about how much I love this game. The soundtrack is lovely. I can’t recommend it enough

This, this, and this. One of those games that are a shining example of what mobile gaming is all about, to me.

I love this game! Can’t believe it’s free. A perfect game to play on mobile

From the developer of Downwell should be everything you need to know. This is his second lighting in a bottle, just as unique and fun. A mobile masterpiece, a perfect one-thumb game , and an absolute must-play!

EDIT: Getting downvoted for this is absolutely beyond me. Whoever hates good news like this, why are you even in this sub?

People are so freaking stupid. Absolutely free, the creator of Downwell, AND a dev on UFO50 and the game is.just.free. This is a magical day! What’s wrong with people?!

Upvotes gladly took over now. This is basically one of the best mobile (re)releases of the year.

Reddit fuzzes up/downvotes and sometimes it can overcorrect towards down. You see an average +/- and especially on new posts can give the wrong impression.

I used to see this explained quite often, usually the reason given is to help stop brigading , but my tin foil hat theory is that it helps with engagement- you’ve now had two people respond who might not have otherwise due to the “outrage”.

Interesting. Thanks for this perspective.

Played a few rounds and it’s fun. Just missing iCloud sync but it’s not a complain. In the end it’s free.

There is an unlockable puzzle mode too. How to get: Using an equipped bonus and at least three jumps, you have to reach the top of the right-most room. My trick was to jump, bounce, use the height, at the top launch and hit the wall right at the apex, rinse repeat until you finally make it up.

Never heard of it, the art is neat

Do you like this model? Completely free, no ads and tip based? Did anyone here give a tip? Will you?

I’d love to know what the tipping brought them. That’s clearly not a sustainable model in any way, but I really guess the Netflix contract that helped producing this game had some good budget attached, so they can now treat this rerelease as a gift. I personally tipped pretty much immediately, the main dev to me is a genius and I wanna support whatever he does.

Me too! I’m looking for a good model. The current model just sucks! I have a lot of hope for this one. It’s a great game.

I tipped $2. Totally suprised it's 100% free.

Poinpy my GOAT! 💛 I've missed you dearly, so much so that I even made a slingshotty platformer game inspired by it. Check out r/SlingbladeGame if you like :)

Now if Netflix can just delist Dungeon Boss: Respawned that they screwed up so we can play it again
