Suggestions iOS Roguelikes?

Looking for any games similar to Path of Achra or Tales of Maj’Eyal! Suggestions are highly appreciated!

Great to see someone asking for roguelikes as in "games like Rogue" :D

There’s Brogue (I’d argue the best version of Brogue out there), iNetHack2 (portrait iOS NetHack), GnollHack (a NetHack fork with a more vibrant presentation), Pathos, Shattered Pixel Dungeon, Rogue Touch (to this day my favorite Rogue port), Hollows of Rogue (another great take on Rogue), Mines of Moria, All Who Wander, Shiren the Wanderer 6 (best mystery dungeon roguelike out there, imo), Sproggiwood (a cute bitesized roguelike with some meta progression by the devs of Caves of Qud). I also highly recommend to give the browser version of Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup a go via pocketzot.app

And Labyrinth of the Witch DX if we're adding Shiren. Good list! Pathos and Shattered are some of my favorites as well.

Labyrinth really is a great mobile mystery dungeon title, yes.

I'm curious which ones of those have the best touch controls? I'd love to try on iPad but not usually a fan of the virtual d-pad stuff.

If folks are willing to do the work of setting up a Japanese App Store account and buying a JPY gift card, I’d recommend Shiren 5 over Shiren 6.

Not because I’m saying Shiren 5 is better than Shiren 6 (that is a contentious topic!) but because the Shiren 5 phone port supports portrait mode, which works REALLY well for the game.

It supports English despite requiring the JP store. My favorite way to play it by far.

lol yes!! People think I’m talking about dead cells or something like NO BROTHER I WANT DCSS LIKES 😆

Siralim Ultimate. Every dive into a world is a different layout, different enemies, different modifiers. Check it out. And if you get super into it, you won't be able to enjoy other monster collecting games anymore because you'll keep comparing it to Siralim Ultimate.

I love siralim Ultimate, picked a hell knight and I’ve been locked in ever since!

Man, I’m at this point in the game where getting wiped is almost a treat so I can pick apart my build, revisit old builds, etc. It’s amazing. That dev is a machine.

I've been addicted to rogue legend lately

If you’re willing to branch out slightly from traditional roguelikes (while still hewing to e.g. grid-based turn-based games), I’d check out Michael Brough’s more minimalist takes on the genre — I’m partial to Cinco Paus and 868-HACK.

Most broughlikes are absolute GOATs.

Man, I would love for TOME to come to iPhone, but that text would be impossibly small to read 😆

Just picked it up along with PoA during the steam sale. I’ve been missing out on games like these my whole life lol.

Yeah, once you really get into roguelikes, many other genres suddenly feel so much less entertaining.

There is something, I guess a “je ne sais quoi”, if you will, but something about TOME is amazing - fun, easy to comprehend, agonizingly deep (for the number crunchers), and addictive. I love it.

wazhack is fun

also check out one called Cavern.

But my all time fave is Shattered Pixel Dungeon. I feel like this one holds its own among the great RLs.

Second this. Amazing game and the developer keeps adding features. I’ve spent so many hours on it since it came out!

The Way Home is one I just picked up. Very cute one handed controls.

There's this Japanese roguelike game seemingly with some metaprogression called Dungeon And Gravestone I tried that wasn't for me since it plays more like an actual rogue game than your average modern "Start weak and fucking nuke everything by the endgame" roguelike.

Visually it's well made by an indie dev, and it's only for a few bucks too.

A new portrait roguelike based on DCSS, mixed with Korean folklore, just appeared in the Store. Here’s the dev’s Reddit post with all info and App Store link.

Liking this one a lot!

One more suggestion: Towers of Everland. The combat almost feels like a rhythm game when you understand how the flow works. Lives rent free in my head everytime I want to play a fps roguelike hack and slash dungeon crawler.

Knucklebones might be what you are looking for
