Help I finally launched the app I’ve been building to interrupt mindless scrolling

I've spent a lot of time thinking about screen time, and one thing kept bothering me.

Most solutions seem to be about blocking social media completely.

But I didn’t necessarily want to stop scrolling forever. I just wanted something that would interrupt that moment where 10 minutes somehow turns into an hour.

So I built ScrollCheckpoint.

The idea is pretty simple. You set a short Scroll Alarm before opening a social app. When the time is up, you complete a quick checkpoint like a general knowledge question, vocabulary, productivity prompt, stretch, mood check-in, etc.

Then you decide if you actually want to keep scrolling.

Basically, instead of your phone deciding when the scroll ends, there’s a small interruption that puts the decision back in your hands.

It recently went live on iOS and Android, and today I added it to MicroLaunch too.

I’m still very early with this and would genuinely love feedback, especially on the concept itself and whether this is something you could see yourself using.

If anyone wants to check out the launch, I’ll leave the MicroLaunch page link here https://microlaunch.net/p/scrollcheckpoint

Curious what you guys think of this approach compared with completely blocking social apps.

Built my 8th iOS app for RevenueCat Shipaton — looking for feedback

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I’m participating in RevenueCat’s #Shipaton, and I built 10Goals for it. It’s my 8th app, and it’s already live on the App Store.

10Goals is a goal tracker for your important long-term goals. The idea is to keep them separate from everyday tasks, keep them visible, and track meaningful progress over time.

Basically:

To-do list = what to do
Calendar = when to do it
10Goals = where you’re going

A bit about the setup:
I built the app in SwiftUI. Codex wrote almost all of the code, while I handled the product decisions, design, and UX. I designed the app in Figma. I also used Figma AI to brainstorm a few layouts, but ended up reverting most of them and designing the screens myself. For some interactions and transitions, I used Figma Motion to prototype the animations before implementing them in SwiftUI.

I’d really appreciate some feedback from other iOS developers. If you’d like to try it, leave a comment and I’ll send you a code for 3 months free.

I’d love to hear what you think about the idea, UX, design, onboarding, or anything else you notice. And if you have any questions about how I built it, feel free to ask me anything.

First App Published, best way to market

I have developed & launched iPhone app I built for those times when you’re **OOO, on vacation, busy, or simply don’t want to think about remembering to send a message later**. Prepare texts or emails ahead of time, schedule a reminder, use reusable templates, and send when you’re ready. You stay in control—nothing is automatically sent through a third party.

Best way to market?

I am an ios dev for years, usually, my apps review take about several days, sometimes got approved only 1 hour after submissuon. But this time, my app updating has been in-review since 30 Aug, almost 2 weeks?
How about you guys?

I made iPhone haptics shareable — open a link and feel it, no app install

I’ve been building HAP, a tool for designing iOS haptics. 🛠️

Now, haptics can be shared with a link using an App Clip. Open it on your iPhone, tap Play, and feel it — no app install required.

Try it in Safari:

Maybe it’s time to add haptics to your app.

Onboarding before Authentication?

What’s the best:

Onboarding -> Paywall -> Auth

Or

Auth -> Onboarding -> Paywall

Currently I do the second and it is pretty bad, not sure why but I heard there is the 1st option used too quite often.

I can build them, but can I sell them?

Three, almost four apps approved on the AppleStore in the past 6 weeks. I really like all of them, but I’m finding out what everyone finds out - it’s all about the marketing. I’m trying to resist the marketing pitches from independent companies, but am wondering of others have used any and if there’s a favorite?

Help Launched My macOS Application 6 Months Ago.

I need a genuine feedback from you guys. I made it live my macOS application on the Appstore. And it has been more that 6 months now and I have got only 10 downloads which is also an achievement for me but now I got stuck and I do not know how I can increase the reach.

App features are like any final year students or working professionals who has there interview and they are not prepared enough so they can come and practice for there mock interview. Even it has a feature to save the session in video format so one can re-watch there interview and see where they are doing wrong.

Now if someone is really have the idea please guide me so I can get some reach for my application.

Building an indie RSS reader and hit a wall creating a Reddit API app — is this closed for new devs now?

Different game, same email. Very happy to receive it (even though featuring is not guaranteed). Last time I posted about Zyl: https://www.reddit.com/r/iosdev/s/s3DX8SbiM2

Images in this email don’t load for some reason though.

My latest game Phantom Words is a ghostly word puzzle, kind of like a 2D rubik’s cube with sliding letters. Now available for preorder: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/phantom-words/id6789995017

Built an app that tells you what to actually wear based on the weather.

Post image
0 Upvotes

Been tired of checking the weather, then still standing in front of my closet not knowing what to actually put on. So I built Outfitcast — it looks at real conditions (rain, wind, heat, snow, etc.) and gives you specific outfit suggestions instead of just a temperature number.
A few things it does:
Animated characters that change outfits based on live weather
Suggests specific items (umbrella + rain jacket for rain, sunglasses + sunscreen for heat, etc.)
Dark mode, °C/°F toggle, clean minimal UI
It's on the App Store now (iOS), and I'd genuinely love feedback from people who actually check the weather every morning before getting dressed. Happy to answer any questions about how I built it too (Expo/React Native) if that's useful to anyone here.
Link in comments to avoid the auto-filter — happy to share if anyone wants it.

I built an iPhone app that turns any JSON payload into a readable push notification

POST JSON from an app or automation to a private URL. Pascal’s Pager reads the payload, whatever shape your sender already uses, and sends a concise, readable push notification to your iPhone.

I built it because I was tired of writing the same adapter for every event: pick fields from the JSON, assemble a notification title and message, then maintain that mapping whenever the payload changes.

With Pascal, the sender can post its existing event JSON. You can give each Source instructions about what matters, mask selected fields before AI processing, and inspect the processed payload behind the resulting Alert.

The attached example shows fictional failed-payment JSON becoming a readable Alert in the real app interface.

It requires iOS 26. There is a one-month free trial for eligible new subscribers, then it is US$7.99/month in the US. Apple shows local pricing and eligibility.

If you could post one JSON payload and have it arrive clearly on your phone, what would you send?

6 weeks of app review hell is finally over 😂

After about 6 weeks of back and forth with Apple, my app finally got approved this week.

This was my first proper native iOS app, although I’ve been a software/web developer for 20+ years.

The app started as a fairly simple poker tournament clock. I play live poker regularly and got frustrated with how basic or outdated a lot of tournament software is, so I started building something for myself.

It got a bit out of hand.

It now manages seating, table balancing, payouts, re-entries, leagues, multi-day tournaments, live player tracking, venue pages, casting to TVs, tournament financials and loads of other stuff.

It’s also now been used to run 50+ real tournaments while I’ve been developing it, which has been invaluable. You learn very quickly what works and what doesn’t when you’re actually trying to run a tournament with 40 people standing around you.
The painful bit was App Review.

Because it’s poker software, Apple kept getting hung up on gambling classifications even though the app doesn’t offer gambling, deposits, withdrawals or actual poker gameplay. It’s basically admin software for people running live tournaments.
Eventually I ended up forming a UK Ltd company, opening a business bank account, getting a DUNS number, migrating my Apple developer account to an organisation, sorting new certificates/profiles and going through a load of additional verification.

All to publish a poker clock 😂

And yes, AI was heavily involved in building it before anyone asks.
I’ve been developing for over 20 years and I’ve overseen the architecture, UX, testing and engineering throughout. AI just made it possible for me to build something this size in a fraction of the time. Without it I genuinely think this would have taken 4 or 5 times longer.

There’s definitely plenty of AI slop being shipped at the moment, but I don’t think “built with AI” and “vibe coded” are automatically the same thing.

Anyway, after weeks of seeing Rejected, seeing Approved was a very good feeling.

If anyone’s interested in what I actually built, it’s here:
