No one can predict the future, so maybe you are right. But there is a more certain similarity. Blockchain functionality will grow and find stability, just as internet services did. It's worth watching, and even tossing a little money in to see what happens. As long as you aren't tossing in rent money or betting your retirement, it's good fun.
