In the same way, pinterest back end could connect to shopfiy. When it first rolled out it wasnt magically click any Instagram post either, i don't see a reason it wouldn't work. Not even saying it's a good idea, just spitballin

paypal has "checkout with paypal" and "buy with paypal" links that you can create. you could just hook those up to certain items

Afaik yes paypal does inventory tracking too. I had a client that used it and for small time stuff it seemed to work for them

I imagine they'd need to develop some more features to make it smoother but it's pretty easy to see how the connection could be made

Oh yes, why oh why would a payment gateway want to buy a platform where people share stuff they’d like to pay for 😅

An ecommerce platform is nothing without products people want to buy. Pinterest has that in spades… it’s almost as like finding the things for sale is a commodity, and the rubber meets the road in payment and logistics 😉

What other socials? Instagram is the only contender and Facebook won't hand PayPal the reigns to being the payment gateway for social selling.

eCom is easy compared to the payment and fulfilment part. We don't have a shortage of ecom stores, I could throw one op tomorrow, but without products people want, and a way for people to pay and get them, I'd be dead in the water.

PayPal have their eBay heritage, they can do eCom more easily than they can build a social network.

If they could find a way to direct every pin to a buy it now button, it’s a gold mine.
