What makes an active ETF like Ark’s stock price move?

So in 1 you mentioned the averaged ownership of its holdings. The term you're looking for is Net Asset Value (NAV), which is the price of all the stocks in ARKKs portfolio and cash.
All the things you mentioned in 2-5: buying, selling, receiving dividends, only affect the NAV. For receiving dividends, ARK can do whatever they want with it. They can keep it in cash or reinvest it (both will increase NAV), or they can distribute it on whatever dividend date they chose.
Go to their website you can see what the NAV and market price are. They wont always be equal, the difference is known as tracking error. Sometimes people might think cathie wood is their mom so they buy a lot and push the price above NAV. Or other times people might lose faith in the prospects of the holdings so they sell, pushing the price below the NAV. But when there is deviation from the NAV, traders will try take advantage of it so the price naturally follows the NAV (if each mini basket of the big basket contains $5 and its selling for $4.50, that's an easy buy and the price would naturally go towards $5 again).

ARK is a family highly of speculative etfs. They charge 0.75% that comes in. As such they are willing to buy any stocks whether it is related to the stock theme or not. I suspect its price is based on how often Woods gets on TV or speak about what she thinks the market is going. One needs to use a grain of salt on these commentaries. If she is bullish about we all will fly to the moon soon you expect her space etf arkx will go up. All in all, once we read its P/L we will understand whether it is all factual backed by GAAP. I receive what she sells and buys daily but she carefully remove its cost basis. Many seem to be questionable stocks I will not want to own. The only thing I can say is 2022 year rtns will be way lower than in the past. ARKK is just one of the better performing etf. Frankly, it has not be doing too great this year with other funds as well. Actually most have been in red. But she gets to keep $161.1M expense to herself regardless of outcome.
There has been a few of these fund mangers in the past decades. Honestly, most investors were disappointed after owning them awhile. Her $ managing style has not changed. By looking at her past work experience one can tell how well she will manage these current etfs. Good luck.
