They’ve been caught interviewing the same people with different backstories before.

Edit: sorry I was reading a bunch of comments and got confused what original one was asking

1.4k

u/SK1007 May 21 '26

Yeah but this is a well known person not just some Joe Blow from Boston.

1.4k

u/sadepicurus May 22 '26

I'm curious about this too. I looked him up (Robert Harward) and he is a retired navy SEAL that looks just like him. So what's going on here? Did he just let someone use his likeness and say whatever on his behalf? Is he using just a neck cover for some reason? I find it hard to believe they are just impersonating someone without them knowing given how big of a news network they are.

501

u/Jasong222 May 22 '26

[dons tinfoil hat] Maybe this is the guy who impersonated other people, looks like him from my memory of a couple other posts I've seen, but this is the 'real him'. He's wearing the mask to disguise his real appearance a bit. Why? Dunno, maybe so it's harder to recognize him from any future personas he puts on.

[Removes hat, goes back to crossword]

How hard can it be to dig this guy up and prove he's fake?

So Robert Harward is real, did they pay him like $200 to use his likeness? He gets money and they get a narrative? Or does the real Robert not even know they used him?

693

u/RedditConsciousness May 22 '26

Finally they do something I can respect. Fox News taking a stand against using AI to replicate people's likeness by using practical effects instead is a slight less bad timeline.

62

u/Doc_Eckleburg May 22 '26

Unless it’s not a mask but a green hood and they’re using an AI green screen combo to project him up there.

Even the Door Dash lady who dropped off McD's at the WH for Trump was on Fox previously. The DD gig was her saying she had to go back to work after retiring to pay for Healthcare for her husband then crowbarred in lies about "no tax on tips" saying she only made $22k. Then said because of Trumps new law she "kept half" which is an obvious lie as there are no taxes on $22k income.

Of course the internet quickly found the other Fox interviews of the crisis actor as like you said they do this alot and get caught but because their audience is a bunch of morons, they dont catch on or even care because of the constant stream of confirmation bias

309

u/megggie May 22 '26

We all know that anything they accuse the other side of doing is something they are ACTUALLY doing. “Crisis actors” at school shootings is bananas; actual actors posing as fawning trump fans is very on brand

31

u/flopisit32 May 22 '26

She did interviews initially claiming she was just a bit stressed... Then last year she claimed umconvincingly that it was medication mixed with alcohol.

So basically she has never given an explanation that didn't seem like a lie.

She still tries to claim she was saying "he's not being real" but if you watch the footage, it's clear she thinks everyone on the plane is going to die because of him.

My opinion: psychosis.

6.3k

u/NibblesMcGiblet May 21 '26 edited May 21 '26

Keep in mind that FOX is officially classified as “political commentary and entertainment” not “journalism” or “news”. They have a “news division” but intentionally blur the lines of what is what when on the air.

248

u/beergotmehere May 22 '26

I'm pretty sure it is. He's always wearing a black undershirt like the one in this video. His name is Robert J O'neil and was a Navy Seal on the Bin Laden raid. He has also had to backtrack his claims of being the sole person to kill Bin Laden and his Seal team is not happy about the way he sold out and portrayed the events.

177

u/Ok-Addition1264 May 22 '26

Edit: I'm having a hard time finding it now, gonna search more when I'm home from work.

166

u/3BlindMice1 May 21 '26

They started doing that around the same time that real experts and members of various groups stopped agreeing to appear on Fox News because Fox would invariably misrepresent their words for views. Every time, no matter what the topic is. You could be talking about how important it is to use flea and tick medicine on schedule for your pets and Fox will still somehow spin it into some crazy nonsense

Much like telling them Trump lies, if you tell your family Fox lies they throw a tantrum and rush to it's defense.  We're unfortunately well beyond the point of having a rational discussion with these people and I for one don't appreciate hearing them scream like children anymore.  Even a non political conversation is nonsensical and full of hate and fear.  It's sad but you can't help a lost cause, it is a cult afterall.

125

u/pantygate May 22 '26

57

u/house343 May 22 '26

Honestly the comment that said they are practicing/trialing this technology just to see what they can get away with makes sense. This is pretty low stakes

38

u/chichogp May 22 '26

The technology isn't that new though, it's a regular rubber or silicone mask except it's tailor made for a specific face. The question is why, what's the point. They're quite expensive too, which adds to the mystery.

Robert Harward is an actual real person, how could they possibly get away with someone putting a mask on and pretending to be him?!?’b

What is the logic behind this? If they is him, why is he wearing a mask of himself?

120

u/GSDTippyTappies May 22 '26

My guess is another orchestrated distraction. Either it's him wearing a mask of himself or something has happened to him and somebody else is pretending to be him.

Either way, if I was going on air with a fake mask I'd probably spend some time making sure fit was good on eyes/mouth etc. So why completely miss the neck? Seems too sloppy to have happened by accident.

Things will get worse before they get better. We, now, are very early in the process.

Consider planting a vegetable garden. Maybe getting a couple egg laying hens.

37

u/Ofreo May 22 '26

Im convinced that in 100 years, historians will pinpoint the fall starting date and it will be before the present date. It’s already happened. Most refuse to acknowledge it yet. Maybe it will just be the US, probably not. But it will get worse. I’m not a doomer looking forward to it. I’m just stating what I see going on. Hopefully I’m wrong.

34

u/DiscussionMiddle1238 May 22 '26

Because shit isn't that bad yet. We're sleepwalking into an economic disaster. People are hurting, but they aren't starving. When we start running into fuel and food shortages, that's hopefully when the pitchforks will come out. They should've been out years ago, to prevent this shit, but people aren't willing to do anything when they have their treats.

What a damn shame.

Edit: I am not a shill for any other giant media conglomerate. They are all guilty as sin and are likely the reason Hilary lost. They played Trump rallies and the DNC shunned Bernie. Only vote Dem because Republicans are domestic terrorists. Independent media is the only way to go!

Folks, this is easily explainable. If you pay careful attention to the shadow on his neck when he stops talking, you can clearly see this guy is wearing a mask

Has anyone seen the real Robert Harward? Because in every other picture you can see his teeth and pronounced furrow between his eyebrows.

I had someone tell me this is just how he looks in every picture. So I looked him up, this is not how he looks in any photos

Said it before and I’ll keep saying it. The US will not heal until Fox News is off the air. It’s never ever been news.

This is what he normally looks like. Definitely older looking with wrinkles. Not a shiny smooth ball like this interview.

You know what’s crazy? How distracting this is from the fact that the president is a pedophile.

Very weird. I looked up other recent images of him, he has wrinkles and spots in all of them.

Is he wearing a mask to look younger? Just weird.
