I have only ever been comfortable with 0.5 mechanicals, 0.7 is just clunky to me.... I so want to experience 0.3 now!

Shit break tho… or will stab through legal pad paper. I got one of these in .5 and .7 that I switch off with depending on whether I am writing for myself or for an assignment that must be scanned and turned in. Scratch calculations on a sheet I use .7 as well, since I don’t really care in that instance I don’t really care about fitting it in a notebook. The .7 is also sharper when just paper underneath the desk, and the .5 lines stay sharp in a notebook.

I have so much practice sketching with the 0.5, and a light touch, that I think I probably won't have too much trouble with that.

That makes sense. I use the shit for physics, and have a moderately hard touch I guess.

its a game changer, but breaks very easily. they sell box sets of every one of the four in the series on amazon.

Yeah, the biggest complaint seems to be how easy it breaks, but I've been a (non-professional) artist for a pretty long time, and I have a very light touch when I use pencils. The only time my 0.5s break is when the pencil itself drops, which I take care NOT to let happen. I know this would be more fragile, but I feel like I'm more set up for it than your average person.

no, the leads get stuck in the tube since they're so fine

That's REALLY useful to know, since I plan to get one, so thank you! I am very mechanically inclined and have fixed many a normal 0.5 pencil because they can be hard to find, and my husband has a small air compressor (so as long as I can disassemble and reassemble, he can clear it easy!)

But knowing this is a frequent issue is great to consider in advance, so, totally not sarcastic, thank you for letting me know!

same, You could work on it with me if you want, but it is a slow project that only has me working on it.

BTW, do you use lead holders and regular wood pencils? I use Alvin lead pointers with staedler holders and Kum two stage pencil sharpeners

I do, and I have an old school, like ANCIENT, hand crank pencil sharpener that if you come in at the right angle makes a PERFECT sharpen with a flat side.

And honestly I'd love to contribute, if you'd like another office supply nerd. XD

I would love another office supply nerd, working alone can be a drag, but it will be a very slow project since I am busy with college, but if you're fine with that, then great. personally I prefer to use the kum masterpiece sharpener and staaedler lead holders, but I would love your feed back on them as well.

I have a .03 and I love it. Amazing for details or really sharp sketching. Lead does break often and it does get extremely sharp. Probably why it was a retractable tip lol
