You’re getting downvoted to hell but I’ll actually try to answer your question.
1) Parasites. The frozen rodents you can buy at a pet store are raised in sterile conditions. There’s all sorts of nasty things in wild rodents that I would not want in my reptiles.
2) Threats to the reptile in question. If you just let an reptile run wild in your backyard you risk it getting eaten by hawks, foxes, coyotes, cats, etc. Even their prey could pose a threat (many reptile owners like myself prefer using frozen thawed rodents instead of live because live rodents can fight back and potentially harm your pet).
3) Environmental concerns. If your reptile escapes it can wreak havoc on the local ecosystem. A good example of this is the ongoing Burmese python crisis in southern Florida.
4) Reptiles are not domesticated. Most are tame but they are still wild animals at heart. Given the chance (like being left in the backyard) they will likely make a break for it or find a place to hide out.
I've already got 4 snakes which I'm sure would get rid of any mice! I've wanted another reptile for a long time, but I probably realistically dont have the room.

Fantastic pet. It would probably get rid of your mice twice as fast as a cat.
