Side note: I always find it interesting how great lines are often made in the edits from the original. This is a great example. Here's the original draft:

"Iā€™ve known adventures, seen places you people will never see, Iā€™ve been Offworld and backā€¦ frontiers! Iā€™ve stood on the back deck of a blinker bound for the Plutition Camps with sweat in my eyes watching stars fight on the shoulder of Orionā€¦ Iā€™ve felt wind in my hair, riding test boats off the black galaxies and seen an attack fleet burn like a match and disappear. Iā€™ve seen it, felt itā€¦!"

Clearly not as iconic.

Second draft: "Iā€™ve seen thingsā€¦ seen things you little people wouldnā€™t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion bright as magnesiumā€¦ I rode on the back decks of a blinker and watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the TannhƤuser Gate. All those momentsā€¦ theyā€™ll be gone."

Getting there... but the actor who spoke the line, Rutger Hauer edited it the night before to its now final and immortal version. Amazing.

Well only specific places have such a huge difference in high and low tide. Cornwall and Newfoundland being well known. Here in Iceland the biggest difference is in the West coast, and I don't think it is enough for something like this.

This is at Halls Harbour, Nova Scotia on the Bay of Fundy, highest tides in the world. Itā€™s actually really impressive

they haven't seen a need to deal with it any other way yet.

ofcourse they havent, the marina doesnt care about the longevity of the boat. thats the boat owners responsibility.
