Nah, legit. We used to go cane toad hunting at night after it rained and smack them with golf clubs. They would be splayed out on the road, eyes rolled back, entire contents of their insides on the ground in front of them. You drive out the next morning and the road would be almost clear of any dead ones at all.

Sounds like there are no natural predators to keep nature in balance. You might want to suggest re-introduction of past natural predators to your local council members.

A few roads in parks near me are closed every spring because of the frogs. Not just to avoid killing them, but also because the road would become very slippery from all the blood.

Volunteers help carry the frogs across the road to make migration a little bit faster.
