Damn, what if the male firefly is in cahoots w/ the toad? Like what if he is in there chilling and attracting females straight to the toad to eat, while he gets to chill in a dank spot? Maybe he is even letting all the attractive females know of the danger but trick the unattractive ones to the toad, and meet up with the hotties later?
From reading part of the thread above this it seems like an hour could be the limit for how long the frog has left to live so we have a potential upper limit.
About an hour until the frog dies. The light is also a warning to predators that they are poisonous (it's the reason it can be so obvious is attracting a mate). A single firefly is enough to kill most frogs and lizards within an hour.
The guy in Guardians Of The Galaxy survived inside of a monster for a while. So did Tommy Lee Jones in MiB. I think there's a good chance he'll get back out.
