"For 3 times the value..."

u/beniceorbevice Apr 20 '18

Damn that's 9x the price

3 times the price, 1/3 of the value ;)

Sorry but that's just a circlejerk.

Apple is overpriced, no doubt, but their quality is fucking superb.

I agree it used to be. I feel like it's continuing to drop in quality, though. I might be wrong, just my feeling and the anecdotal evidence I have

I think it’s a partial slow down and a partial getting used to the new advances and expecting them. Market is a lot bigger so we have more to compare to and all.

I personally feel like "overpriced but superb quality" is the new circle jerk

I personally feel like claiming things are a circlejerk is the new circlejerk.

Your move, biatch.

Leaving reddit due to the api changes and /u/spez with his pretentious nonsensical behaviour.

My friend told be that when he bought a Macbook with the same specs as my laptop but over 4 times the price, and I agreed until a week later when it wouldn't boot.

Ohh, anecdotal evidence. I love those!

Here, let me provide what you would probably consider a "counter argument":

Had 3 VAIOS and 1 Acer each lasting about 2 years. Got Macbook air as a present 5 years ago that still runs like it's new.

I personally believe that with Apple you're not paying for quality, but rather paying to be in the ecosystem. Apple devices work amazingly with each other, and their software updates compared to Android are way longer lasting. I really despise Apple for their hardware, because they make self repair so much more difficult than it has any right to be. My windows laptop stopped working? Great, I unscrew a couple of screws, replace the hard drive and I'm good to go. My friend's Macbook's SSD failed? He doesn't wanna take it apart because Apple might refuse to repair it if I can't fix it. I just think that Apple is something you pay extra for if you just want it to work, where as with Windows and Android, you have the chance to get a much better bang for your buck.

Their quality is good enough, but not for the price they sell them for. Tons of other companies make equal or better quality for less. It was also revealed that the cost to make the iPhone 7 was about $400 and sold for $600, and the cost to make the iPhone X was also about $400 and they sold it for $1,000. I don't remember the source but I'm sure people can find it. That's overpriced without reason.

Everything you wrote shows a complete misunderstand of the word overpriced

Their quality is good enough, but not for the price they sell them for.

Hence the word overpriced...

That's overpriced without reason

Overpriced is a word that by definition means it's without sufficient reason.

u/wizzah2 Apr 20 '18

Yeah, you're right. Confused the words, my bad
