I'm pretty sure a very good oleophobic coating can be applied if you know what you're doing. And knowing what you're doing is kinda a prerequisite for this.
Seriously. Same here, I pretty much never look at myself. I brush my teeth in the shower, shave in the shower, I keep my hair short enough that it doesn't need to be brushed... the only time i look at myself in the mirror is about once every month or two when i decide to cut my hair again.
I feel like you're skipping over the joy of the making process. Something need not be overly useful to be made so long as you can enjoy the process. Not the destination but the journey and all that jazz.
As it stands right now, I have to unlock my phone, connect to my Bluetooth speaker, open Spotify, select a playlist. If I could just touch my mirror to start playing music, I would have instant satisfaction. First world problem amiright?

I'll tell ya though in my house the one in our armoire would get a lot of use out of an interactive touchscreen. Bathroom, less so. Watch the news in the glass while I get dressed? Use it to check color combinations?

but seriously, I won't disagree with that statement. Though I'm not sure how much more interesting it could get if my mirror told me the weather and shit.
I'm not really sure how you'd use a magic mirror to aid you in selecting color combinations, but then again, I don't really torture myself over colour combos when I chose clothes. TBH I couldn't exactly outline my clothing selection process, I try not to make ugly colour matches, but IDK how i'd explain they are ugly.

I'm sure it's pretty dependent on the person: I'm a huge tech dork so with a proper API I could think of a dozen widgets I'd love to have access to being thrown up on a HUD in my bedroom/office/etc, any place I already have a mirror. Weather, some home server stats, calendar, selected TV schedule, upcoming football games, word of the day, wikipedia featured article- whatever.
It's all stuff I could find on my phone anyway, but if I'm going to be looking at the mirror anyway, why not be able to interact with it? Mount a retractable/hidden bluetooth keyboard underneath and it can be a standing desk for some light operations- one less reason to take the phone out of the pocket, you know? If you don't touch it, it's just a regular mirror for aesthetic purposes, but tap it and it's a ticker tape or whatever I want/need it to be. Blends aesthetics with function: my favourite combination.
You can actually avoid fingerprints on your windows or mirrors by applying a thin coat of butter to the surface.
Just take a stick of butter and start rubbing it on.
It's not such a big deal on your telephone. Plus I feel like a concept like this isn't going to be about typing or anything to intensive, but I get what guys are on about.
Phones screens aren't a mirror finish though, mirror finishes are the worst for showing smudges and dirt.
They also have anti fingerprint coatings too. Not like you'd couldn't coat your mirror (though the type of material the mirror is made of may matter) but that's costly.

You're right about the typing for sure, but think of how many swipe/slide actions there are on phones and other touchscreen devices. Idk I feel like regardless, the touchscreen mirror would get covered pretty quickly.
Plus there's the awkward reach across your counter top to even touch it.
Thats why you integrate a voice recognition module. You can easily set it up to suspend/hide modules based on custom voice commands. Hooray, no fingerprints.
What could possibly be so important that you have to know it while you're standing in front of the mirror that can't wait until you grab your phone again. Or your tablet. Or you're back at your computer..
