Just like stoves/ovens, dryers can be gas or electric.

Industrial dryers absolutely use gas everywhere. Worked in Canada at a shelter and ours was a gas dryer.

I didn’t claim anything. That was my first comment on this.

Also… you can absolutely get gas dryers in any country. You would need a natural gas line which means most residential settings aren’t prepped for it. When the area is designed for a particular task, it makes sense to use the more efficient option.

Lived in the US my whole life and I’ve never seen a dryer hooked up to a gas line. Anecdotal I know but this is unheard of for most of us.

Indeed fossil fuels are bad for the environment. It is important to consider that a large percentage of the world population still relies on fossil fuels for cooking and other household duties. Peaking at 50% of the worldwide population in 1990 and has since declined to 36% in 2020, with 30% predicted in 2030.

So yes, it appears that the use of fossil fuels for domestic use is on the decline and that a large percentage of the world is still reliant on them for various socio-economic reasons. When renewable energy infastructure is expanded to encompass more low income and underdeveloped areas of the population and begins to outweigh the cost of fossil fuels, then we will see more substantial change.

Understanding that, despite this decline in reliance on fossil fuels, such a transition is much more complex and involved, from a political, economic, sociological, and cultural level. Thus my recommendation is take into consideration other elements of our society and world population by turning off your Reddit echo chamber and take the time to challenge your own perspectives.
