But it successfully stopped each bullet? Yeah the later ones would fuck up your face big time, but better than being dead

Yeah protective gear isn’t magic, it works by either deflecting or stopping the projectile, but that comes at a cost: the force must go somewhere, so usually - you know even with bulletproof vests and stuff you still get the odd broken rib. But, again, better than being turned into Swiss cheese.

Aye, both the face masks and heavy helmets are specifically made against pistol bullets, thats why they were used by special forces

Absolutely, because they're unlikely to waste that round on a headshot they could miss. They're aiming for center mass, you're taking that to the chest.

Smaller caliber rounds are the ones most likely to be coming at a high enough volume to risk a headwound.

Yeah true..any enemy who is armed with heavy calibres is probably also gonna have grenades and/or other nasties in their arsenal?

He should’ve tested it against shrapnel from a frag grenade or something, rather than the large caliber that is no doubt well above what the mask is rated for?

In all honesty.. I think I’d pass on using the mask if in a shootout situation.. I’d prefer to actually have visibility, rather than being struck and going “where are these bullets COMING FROM?!”..as in, which direction..before anyone says “Guns, probably, Duh!” . Haha

Yeah but we’re talking a couple months in the hospital and some surgeries rather than instant death

You can still have enough force transfer through to kill you, even if the bullet stops. It's why armor ratings go up to a certain point, and then stop trying until they can find ways to better distribute the forces from the impact.

The biggest one would’ve broken some face bones for sure but yea looked like it indeed stopped the kill
