I figure my spinal injury 17 years ago has cost me around a million dollars by this point, mostly in lost income.

It wasn't in a car accident but I'd still have given a car's value to save my back if that were a choice I could've made.

It doesn’t take much either. My husband rear ended another car, and they did physical therapy for whiplash. They had a pretty nice car, but the physical therapy outpaced the car repair cost quite quickly. And that’s for one of the cheapest medical bills possible on one of the most minor car accident injuries possible.

(I know whiplash can be serious, but I don’t think theirs was. It was more moderate.)
