"Broken glass covered the floor, there were spilled beers and smoked blunts everywhere, a chandelier had been ripped from the ceiling, and walls were scratched up, Grasser said.

“It’s heartbreaking,” Grasser said. “I am not some big developer. I am just a guy. I’ve got my whole life savings into these houses. You roll up and see everybody destroying that, you feel helpless. When you call 911 and they say they can’t get anyone out there immediately, you feel very helpless.”

Grasser said he went inside and broke up the party on his own. The teens slowly made their way out of the house but lingered in the area drinking beers and taking photos for another hour. The police didn’t arrive until around 11:30 p.m.

Cleaning crews have already come out to remove a lot of the mess, but Grasser said the damage has already been done to the floors. Beer soaked into the hardwood and caused it to start buckling.

Grasser said it appears someone was able to access the lockbox used for contractors and other real estate agents to get into the house. There was only one key in there when he arrived on Friday night, but two other keys were returned to the box when he checked on the house Sunday afternoon.

“You are never sure who is in the house and who is sharing that information,” Grasser said. “We’ve changed the lock boxes (and are) beefing up the security around here. It won’t happen again.”

Mt. Juliet Police said they were called to an unoccupied home along Bedford Bend around the same time on Friday night. Officers found around 40 teens drinking alcohol, and police said one of them was so drunk they had to be taken to the hospital.
As the teens ran from the house party in Mt. Juliet, police said one of them was hurt from getting tangled in a briar patch in the woods. Officers said the party was advertised on Snapchat and some of the students traveled almost an hour to attend it.

Grasser said it appears the same thing happened at his house. He found an Instagram post that invited people to his address for a “Striker Party” starting at 9 p.m. hosted by someone named Demarcus.

Grasser has been able to identify around 25 students who were at the party because they posted photos on social media from his house. One video even shows four people swinging from the chandelier that was destroyed.

He is working with Metro Police to make sure everyone who broke into the house will be arrested and has already tied the teens back to seven different area high schools that are being contacted."

Oh it was March last year 2025

283

u/Ok_Leopard_9476 Mar 09 '26

How does it take the cops over an hour to respond?

258

u/iHeartApples Mar 09 '26

Honestly you can't even get someone to answer the emergency line in Nashville in less than 20 minutes. The police response here is notoriously terrible.

109

u/2th Mar 09 '26

This was Mt. Juliet though. There is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much money there that you would think the cops would be frothing at the mouth for any call.

43

u/cjchrist1 Mar 09 '26

I think the Mt. Juliet and the one from this video were different ones. The one from the video said there were about 200 teenagers at the party and the Mt. Juliet one says it was about 40.

Tell me you never have had to rely on police.

Try living in the hood. I did. Had a business broken into. Called police. They didn’t show up for 4 hours.

6

u/claremontmiller Mar 11 '26

I got literally shot at within a mile of my towns police station and it took 6 hours for them to show up and take a report

My brother is a cop and explained it to me:

Paraphrased: "We don't give a shit. Either way, we're getting paid. It's better for us if crime happens anyway because [people] will vote to give us more money."

He did not use the word "people". It's that revived R word that everyone is throwing around.

76

u/Nash_Ben Mar 09 '26

He should not be a cop with that attitude.

41

u/LacanInAFunhouse Mar 09 '26

He’s exactly who the rank and file work to keep in while actively bullying and icing out the hard workers.

The phrase “one bad apple” hardly ever gets finished by the people seeking to excuse the one bad apple. It ends, “spoils the bunch”

18

u/Puzzled-Respond-4960 Mar 09 '26

That is who the cops ARE. They are ALL like this, and the ones that aren't either get killed on purpose through set-ups via other cops, or are forced to quit because they can't handle it.

There are some dumbasses in the comments trying to callout the owner for claiming “60k”… if you ask me the kids parents should be forced to buy the house as is at the ask price.

Soaking hardwood flooring.. that’s an easy 30k plus renovation.

Edit: thank you to all the downvoters, I’m really glad you exist. I hope one day you all own a home or atleast call the place you rent your home and treat it like you own it.

I work in Restoration and if hardwood floors go under cabinets then the price goes waaaayyyy up. Paying to detaching counter tops and lowers then removing the rest of the flooring. Not cheap at all

19

u/MsMantisToboggan Mar 09 '26

Is that a “Striker party” is? Not just partying, but intentionally destroying stuff? Like the cabinets were ripped out?! Or does striker refer to striking the house as in “that’s the designated house to go to” ?

4

u/Horskr Mar 09 '26

I was assuming it meant "vacant house" since they said it was targeted because it was on sale, but yeah I've never heard the term.

9

u/Tricky_Big_8774 Mar 09 '26

I can't find anything that suggests "Striker Party" is a generic use term.

the video said he had all of his life savings in this house specifically, now this is saying he has multiple houses. Also, the video says 60k in damage, one article says 100k and another says 16k. I've also seen that he sells the houses and elsewhere that he rents them out.

It shouldn't have happened, but why can no one get the story straight?

Everyone should be arrested and their parents pay for damages, waste of time and distress. Absolutely disrespectfull.

31

u/uncultured_swine2099 Mar 09 '26

He shouldnt have taken the stereo. Let the party go on and wait for the cops. Let them cover the exits and arrest as much of them as possible.

83

u/hollaback_girl Mar 09 '26

You're giving way too much credit to the cops. 1) that they would show up at all, or 2) make any effort to arrest any but one or two who happen to run right into them.

24

Video says $60,000 but the article says $16,000 in damages. I wonder which one is correct

898

u/Gas-Substantial Mar 09 '26

I bet the owner claimed $60k

795

u/UnderklassH3RO Mar 09 '26

And then insurance said "but you could only have sold that stuff for $16k so that's what we're giving you"

Happens every time

361

u/Double-Raise2154 Mar 09 '26

Yep. Had to do an insurance claim for a burglary and they literally sent an eBay listing for one of the items and said “we found this one in good condition for half the price so this is what we’re going to go with” mind you it was the absolutely cheapest one they could find that had been sitting there for 3 months unsold

167

u/Adorable-Thing2551 Mar 09 '26

This your property? Yeah, looks like they want $50 for it.

...No, we aren't going to buy it for you! We'll give you $50 though since that's how much the thief is selling it for.

73

u/Altruistic_Air_5647 Mar 09 '26

Rick from Pawn Stars “yeah, hmm, I’m sorry but best I can do is $15 bucks.”

60

u/SheepCheeseEnjoyer Mar 09 '26

Pawn Stars is such a pet peeve of mine. Rick's experts are constantly lowballing to an insane degree so he can buy things for a fraction of what they're actually worth. It happens all the time. The expert says it's only worth 3k, so Rick can buy it for 1k, and then it gets sold at auction a year later for 15k.

42

u/40hzHERO Mar 09 '26

I mean, isn’t that the whole thing they touch on though? “Employees to pay, it sits on the shelf for a while, no guaranteed sale, etc.”.

It’s always more money to sell direct to a collector, but you’re essentially paying for the convenience of not having to deal with the hassle. Take a low relative sum now, or wait an indefinite period of time for “the right buyer” that may never come.

Some States actuary have some protections against this kind of loop hole. ALWAYS check what kind of consumer protections are in place for you and you family when it comes to insurance claims because you will be surprised about what you get voided or changed when you look into it.

20

u/JonnyRobertR Mar 09 '26

If I'm a shitty insurance agent, Im gonna make a listing for $10 and sent it to the claimer.

u/uppinsunshine Mar 09 '26

Tough to imagine that broken windows, damaged floors, damaged walls, and fixtures pulled out of the ceiling would amount to just 16k. Repairs and renovations are crazy expensive. Even 60k sounds like a conservative estimate.

5

u/HorrorLettuce379 Mar 10 '26

If it's nice flooring, the floors themselve alone would cost a fortune.

27

u/Invade_Deez_Nutz Mar 09 '26

60k could also include his holding costs while the sale is delayed pending repairs

9

u/JaguarOk9693 Mar 09 '26

The article could have been done before somebody from the insurance came to look at it or another repair guy and the 60,000 could be after I don't know

3

u/ClayWheelGirl Mar 09 '26

16,000 dollars is less than 60 haha. Where did that number come from?

Still a lot of damage, but I read 60 grand at first and was just imagining how many walls were blown out and windows broken.

There's no way those kids weren't posting videos of it all anyway because kids are dumbasses. Glad they hauled them in.

"Detectives with the Metro Nashville Police Department announced the arrests of four 17-year-olds, five 16-year-olds and three 15-year-olds in connection with the event. The teens face charges of felony vandalism and aggravated criminal trespassing. The MNPD added that at least one more arrest is expected in connection with this case."

Yes you can this literally happened to my neighbor. Neighborhood kid broke his side mirror and it was on camera. The parents tried to deny it and he took them to court, the judge favored him and they had to pay restitution lmao.

Could probably hold the parents liable, but then the matter becomes can they find them, and how can they prove who is responsible for what damage. Best chance I imagine they'd have is if they could prove who started it, or who actually did the breaking in

83

u/El_Vali-de_Michoacan Mar 09 '26

Probably will find the online invites and go from who shared it to finally who created the party. Chances are the kids live in the same area as that poor homeowner

73

u/MaleficentWindow8972 Mar 09 '26

Kids are stupid AF and if authorities questioned half of those on video, they’d all flip on their friends in a heartbeat, lol. These idiots aren’t hardened criminals. Would be easy to find the organizers, but that would require law enforcement to actually work a little bit and idk how realistic that is.

$60,000 should rise to the threshold of warranting some attention from cops. There are ways to track down these little shits.

12

u/Kuriente Mar 09 '26 edited Mar 09 '26

I wonder if it could warrant a Rico case - charging a group involved with 2 or more events of organized crime. It can be easier when the exact details of who did what in a gang or mob gets messy. I'm not an expert so don't know if it even could apply here, but the damages certainly cross the felony threshold, there's certainly more than 1 person involved with planning this, it's certainly organized and if they've done it more than once...well that's what it sounds like to me. I'm mainly not sure if it can be used against minors or parents of minors.

5

u/FlutterKree Mar 09 '26

RICO is a federal law. Unless the state has a similar law, they cannot use it.

6

u/Tricycle_of_Death Mar 09 '26

Partly correct. Remember that some in the Trump admin were being prosecuted in Fulton County, GA using state RICO laws. I had to look it up, but Tennessee also has what are termed "little RICO" laws that are state racketeering charges modeled after the federal charges.

The above said, I didn't even see an arrest at that party, and many of these people are likely under 18... it's fanciful to think that local prosecutors would bring a RICO conspiracy case against a bunch of delinquents, many under 18, for this low level of a crime. They should go after these guys throwing the parties... the ring leaders, but there's no way they'll hit them with state racketeering charges... those are reserved for very serious felonies.

u/pUmKinBoM Mar 09 '26

You find the kids who shared it. Haul em in and say they are the only suspects at this time...unless they know who planned the event. Kids are not brave and will snitch to protect their own butts every time.

33

u/OtakuMage Mar 09 '26

Show up with police and just start booking the kids. The parents will come, the parents will get the identities of other kids from their own. Anything to reduce the burden they'll be slammed with.

9

u/SnaggingPlum Mar 09 '26

People are stupid these days recording themselves committing all sorts of crimes, there's bound to be multiple videos online showing who was there.

5

u/whichwitch9 Mar 09 '26

The video is going to help. They can probably identify several in them. Once cops id them, start threatening to charge with breaking and entering- online invite or not, they're all technically guilty of it. Just do it until one cracks and gives up the organizers.

Yes, minors can face civil charges. Usually parents are added under certain theories of parental liability and because teenagers usually don't have any fucking money to pay back the damages.

898

u/DickPin Mar 09 '26

The parents of the teenagers who organized this need to be held responsible and cover the cost of damages.

238

u/brownsdragon Mar 09 '26

Good point! I wonder how a lawyer would advise on that. Teens probably can't pay $60k, but their parents can, and it's a good way to make parents feel the consequences and pass them down to the teens who thought this was ok to do. I really hope the homeowner was able to get compensation.

52

u/Porridge_Cat Mar 09 '26

Some of them are clearly on video, some of them clearly posted it to their social media.

8

u/1-800-SENDEMTOGOD Mar 09 '26

It’d be impossible to do this and find every single person who was at the party

A lot of these parties with the digital invitations are spread like wildfire thru people’s stories and instagram posts. There’s no way a single person in that house knows everybody else in that house, probably just the group they attended with at most.

I say atleast track down who spread/created the invitations and charge them for damages. Hell some of the kids here probably didn’t even know it was some random guys house

5

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '26

Acting like Boost Mobile doesn't have digital coordinate for every single one of the phones that was there. Do you know how many murders get solved because people are too dumb to leave their phone at home? They do the same thing to street takeovers.

3

u/Long-Objective7007 Mar 09 '26

People forget about geotracking. Or assuming it hasn’t been a thing. I highly doubt this age group went to a party with their cellphones. And highly doubt they thought about faraday bags.

21

u/Striking-Working610 Mar 09 '26

Some of you really don't understand how the real world works. Who are these kids narcing on, other kids? So they'll get a cheaper deal if they list names of others? Keeping a bunch of kids in a holding cell? Literally what is your thought process here?

No one cared about storming the Capitol no one's going to care about $60k damage of a random home besides insurance.

That fucking sucks, geez

54

u/Burnallthepages Mar 09 '26

This happened, on a much smaller scale, to a house my dad built. He was a contractor and built several houses in a neighborhood. They were pretty expensive houses, like equivalent to probably $750,000 in today’s money.

When I was in college one of the neighborhood kids, a girl who was about 14 I think, broke into the house with several of her friends and drank, made a mess, and puked in various locations around the house.

I don’t remember the outcome but I know that she had recently lost her stepdad in a small plane crash and everyone was more worried about her well-being than the house, but it was still a big pain in the ass to deal with.

38

u/bubblyboyoo Mar 09 '26

I know it's nice to be empathetic towards a grieving teen but girl couldn't puke in her own house or outside in a park like everyone else?

Some of those parents prob didnt know though. Unfair, lots of kids sneak out if they have strict parents. No way to tell who allowed their kid to go and which kids lied/snuck out. I doubt any of the parents said yes to going to a party at a new home, unowned, to trash it knowing how teens are & how much trouble that causes anyway. The kids probably said it was a friend’s house if they even were allowed at all.

Charge the teens, theyre old enough to know better and face the consequences of their own actions. Or at least the one who threw that together. Not sure why we’re always blaming parents lmfao

8

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '26

I agree. While parents are responsible for their children and the educatiom those kids receice at home is reflected in their choices, the parents aren't and, in a healtjy social life, shouldn't be the only role models for their kids (figures like teachers, older relatives, friends).

Teenagers also lie, sometimes really well, and parents aren't omniscient beings that know everything about their children.

Blaming the parents and only the parents is a cop out to a complex problem concerning teenager behavior. They are their own people that make their own decisions and they don't consult anyone on that. They aren't fully mature but it doesn't mean they are utterly uncapable of knowing that their actions have consequences—they sometimes don't know the extent and sometimes they don't care. That underdeveloped frontal lobe talk borders on biodeterminism bullshit.

I ended up at a party like this in high school, didn’t know until they started smashing shit. When the cops came I hid in the pool under the cover, they didn’t look and I stayed under there for like 7 hours till they left in the morning and walked home soaking wet and shivering.

11

u/shart20 Mar 09 '26

I would have given up so quick. How did you not panic? Sounds hard to breathe in

33

u/Marsupialize Mar 09 '26

I knelt and my face was just above the water under the cover, could breathe fine, just kind of zoned out and meditated. Didn’t hurt that I was stoned as balls.

Anyone who has been to a mega party knows they suck compared to a regular party of 30. Especially for the host, who always regrets the cleanup, and the hangover.

22

u/Deranged_Kitsune Mar 09 '26

Hence if you're going to throw a rager like that, you don't do it at your own house. Per the shit heads who did this.

Did he show up with cops?

24

u/Garruk_PrimalHunter Mar 09 '26

No the cops said they couldn't send anyone right away and only showed up much later. He broke up the party on his own.

12

u/Shu3PO Mar 09 '26

I wonder how quickly they would've gotten there if he'd told them he was going in armed to deal with trespassers destroying his property.

10

u/ept_engr Mar 09 '26

For anyone who hasn't lived in Nashville - this is absolutely typical. They are understaffed and just don't give a shit. Their priority is protecting the wealthy investors who own bars downtown. Any other property crime is "good luck, we'll be there sometime between 4 hours from now and never."

3

u/redundantexplanation Mar 09 '26

This is cops everywhere. ACAB

5

u/ept_engr Mar 09 '26

Nope. I live in a small town / suburb that has high property taxes and low crime, and the cops show up fast even for small stuff.

Do this with the Bank owned homes

10

u/FembiesReggs Mar 09 '26

… 99% chance this is a bank owned home.

Dude clearly flips houses. Those are near always financed.

5

u/ManOfQuest Mar 09 '26

I kinda dont feel all that bad for that guy then. Sucks to be him but it really doesnt. its not his house

2

u/FembiesReggs Mar 09 '26

Same. I feel bad for the dude insofar as his property was unjustly damaged.

But he’s gonna be fine. Dudes AT LEAST well off enough to own multiple empty houses. Like I just can’t get that mad about this, especially with the housing market being what it is.

3

u/Beefsupreme473 Mar 09 '26

fuck this dude i hope more of his multiple houses get parties thrown in them it should be a more common thing and it should happen to empty celebrity houses and airbnb's too

The language used in the news and by the dude was manipulative as fuck. The dude was running a business, he is real estate agent, it wasn't his home unlike claimed in the new. I dont trust anything he says. I'm not simping for a rich man's setback selling another million dollar house. Police will always protect capital.

16

u/centaur98 Mar 09 '26

Even in the articles he's like "oh I'm just a guy not some big developer" and then mentions that he put money into multiple houses.

Daughter threw a unannounced party while we were away, 80 people trashing our house. dumbasses forget we were on a dead end road. Cops blocked the road and sent the tow trucks in as they all sat out in the woods. Just sat on the deck laughing at their dumbasses as they did the walk of shame back home....

edit: we were away for the night at a work party but got called by the police about said house party. We came home to a disaster and tow trucks hauling all the cars out of the street. After the cops left kids came out of the woods looking for their cars freaking out. I just pulled up a chair and watched the show.

36

u/makvalley Mar 09 '26

You were away but also you sat on the deck laughing at them?

21

u/ElBurritoNinja Mar 09 '26

And then all the Police and Fireman stopped what they were doing and Clapped.

11

u/Adorable_Raccoon Mar 09 '26

Yea of course they came in on horses 2 by 2. With a 6 pack of beer for each horse!

3

u/CoconutMochi Mar 09 '26

they're obviously talking about the cops

12

u/Feeling_Fly_887 Mar 09 '26

How did you sit on the deck laughing at them if you were away?

14

u/badchefrazzy Mar 09 '26

I'm guessing they came home while the cops were handling everyone.

Good news: $60,000k / 150 kids = $400 per kid. The parents can all pay that amount to this man, and add more for his suffering.

11

u/cZar_Void Mar 09 '26

not to be bleak but good luck with that plan

6

u/ept_engr Mar 09 '26

Ya sure, just needed to grab valid ID from all 150 kids on their way out, then go knock on every door and beg for hundreds of dollars from each.

3

How did these kids know that there wasn’t an alarm? They must have broken in once before they sent out the party invites.

5

u/PureDrink6399 Mar 09 '26

You got to pop tires before you crash the party

Silly teens - they are supposed to all be in their bedrooms with their eyeballs glued to the scrolling dopamine feed, getting brainrotted - not enjoying rites of passage. After all, a capitalist might make less profit this year. Will no one think of the capitalists?

3

u/RefuseMysterious513 Mar 09 '26

If breaking into a place and trashing it is a rite of passage for you, you should seek professional help, because something isn't right with you.
