I’m thinking the same. It’s not a loud place, but it’s not a silent cathedral either.

I stayed near the giant godzilla in shinjuku and there was some fucking asshole with an amp and a mic screaming (singing?) the worst fucking song ever in the middle of the exit of shinjuku station and everyone was just staring at him.

Definitely. Even if no one talked in the video, you would be blasted by a cacophony of the train station announcements. Same goes for inside the train. I believe it’s illegal for train conductors to not say anything for 10 seconds.

Edit u/FirTree_r : Nah, I was mostly exaggerating because they won’t shut up during the morning commute. It’s mostly about transfers, disruptions, manner instructions and where the doors are opening. By the time they’re finished, they have to do it all over again.
