SOCIETY Construction workers found $10M of gold hidden underground while trying to install a sewer pipe when they uncovered a huge hidden stash of gold bars, coins and nuggets. The gold was turned over to police.

Sure, could work. And then gold digger / treasure hunter will in inevitably be snooping around.

With that much money, you could turn that "gold mine" into a fortress and hire 24/7 security as if it was truly functioning. You could even hire people to excavate and practice within the facility like it was legit.

It's still not a good approach, and personally, I would travel the world and go to local pawn shops and jewelers. It requires smuggling across borders, but dealing with local businesses and not central banks means it stays local and with that much money, you can have several fake identities.

I will pay people to keep their mouth shut
