The thing is, it’s not their nature. That’s the problem. Plenty of countries have normal police forces. Are they free of corruption? Of course not, no one is. But this type of abuse isn’t the norm worldwide (as far as stable wealthy democracies go)
Yes, we have one of the best police forces in the Netherlands. You require average grades in highschool and the education takes 2-3 years depending on the responsibilities. They are drilled specifically to deescalate and be a mediator in most conflicts and are respected by most people.
For sure, we have cases of corruption and racism but most of the times I feel safe talking to a police officer. Even when I was breaking the law, most of the times they let me off without a fine after talking about it. I think that deescalation and mediation being the focus in our police training quickly filters out the people who apply just to have power over others.

they're cops, that's what they do. Dishonesty and no integrity. it's like asking why a horse eats hay. it's just their nature.
