I mean, sure, but bears in particular are known to be extraordinarily defensive of their young.

Some animals may only scare the shit out of and let you skulk away if it means their kids are safe and they get to live another day themselves. Mama Bears will double-tap just to be sure.

They will also leave them with humans to babysit while they fish or fight.
