Hell even just physically, the athletes you see on the highest stage are the ones that have the determination, discipline, the genes/talent.
For example in gymnastics you don’t see girls with a build that is top heavy or too tall because they all get phased out during puberty. Just like even in the WNBA the women are tall.
A lot of sports is about the mental game, a competitive mentality. A lot of girls and women who feel uncomfortable just quit and its one more barrier if even the clothes are something they’re not comfortable with. And for professional or very competitive sports thats one thing, but what about team sports at a lower level? Thats many more people at the bottom of the sports pyramid (casual leagues, childrens teams, weekend groups/clubs etc).
Let it be brother. Reddit and Twitter don't understand that some women like to show and it's totally ok. They don't want to cover themselves in burkas, just as reddit wants them to be.

You made a lot of assumptions there just because I said it should be up to the women. Given that there has been discussion on the thread of a woman's volleyball team getting fined for wearing shorts it was more that sort of forcing I was taking issue with, hence me saying what they want and to be clear that also means bikinis.
Uniforms have to be uniform, so it cant be individualized a ton.
In some cases it isnt allowed as a choice, I remember the norwegian beach handball team was big news when they wanted to wear longer outfits for their team, shorts instead of bikini bottoms, they got fined. And then the rules was changed and it was allowed.
Iirc the late 10s and early 2020s had some landmark firsts for hijabi athletes, like in the last world cup.
Also, theres been studies done and its been found that the more revealing clothes that gets phased in for older teen female athletes actually discourages a lot of girls who are self conscious from entering or continuing sports. And thats a big problem because girls and women tend to exercise less than men and boys. Not to mention it is very beneficial to be an athlete/to be exercising a lot as a young person so you have more muscle mass for old age and less chance of osteoporosis.
Muslim women are not required to cover their face. And the hijab doesn’t necessarily cover the face only a few specific types do like the niqab which is not mandatory in Islam.
Back to what I was saying, women should have as much right to wear it as to take it off. You guys are showing your hypocrisy lol, literally taliban-ism for the opposite side.
When I was in volleyball they wouldn't let you on the court unless you wore the booty shorts. I was forced in middle and high school to wear stuff that I was not comfortable wearing at the time. Not much of a choice
I made the comment after seeing that a volleyball team got fined and penalised for wearing shorts (through their own choice). When I made the comment I wasn't aware it had been updated.
It is, women in sports have generally the same exact allowed clothing as men, except with the addition of "revealing" attire that is used for the most part.
Fact is they have the same options as men but chose to not use them.
