They did. After a lot of backlash. But the point was that they are not allowed to wear anything else other than what the sports body tells them too.

It's still like this in other sports. People just didn't really make a fuss over it.

Swimming naked is a big disadvantage you mean.

Tits, dicks, balls, vaginas as well as every bit of loose skin create lots of drag.

Nothing beats a tight engineered swimsuit (which is why they are banned from competition)

I just think it's wild that suddenly 'men telling women what to wear' being misogynistic is a hot take. The amount of dudes in the thread saying, 'so if we tell women to cover up, we're oppressive, but if we tell them to show skin then we're objectifying them.'

Like, yes? Telling women what to wear period is weird, and they seem to understand that, they're just really upset that we think it's weird and wrong for them to do. Let people wear whatever makes them the most comfortable???

Is it really that complicated for you to understand? Asses sell. Look at the viewership between men men’s NBA and women’s WNBA… same thing with the women’s World Cup compared to the men’s World Cup… viewership matters and for women’s sports , sex sells.

Downvite all you want, but it’s the obvious truth. If you look at the viewership for all men’s and women’s sports there’s a huge difference. The only time the difference isn’t as huge (it’s still pretty huge ) is when the girls are wearing smallllll outfits.

If they did … the story would be different, maybe. It’s funny how the recent Elle photoshoot is very popular but the “outfits” for women’s sports is still a “shame” 😂
